Yo RARE…..this is a total waste of time to do legit. Don’t just patch it. “FIX” it so it’s worth doing. Don’t be lame. Buying goods then selling them elsewhere for MASSIVE profits should be a thing. You know….the whole RISK/REWARD thing!?! DONT BE LAME RARE!!! MAKE THIS WORTH DOING!!! It’s a waste of time as it stands.

Yeah, there are a lot of older features/voyages in game that need buffing.
Respectfully, It is glitch they will patch it. The whole point of gaining reputation is the time and effort it takes.
You know what would be cool? A Merchants Alliance voyage that had a similar payout as a LotV, after hitting PL. Personally, I'd be down for a NPC escort mission, where we(pirate legends) we being asked to guard a convoy(or lone ship) in order to prevent a Lost Shipment
The whole point of these crates are for a small easy amount of gold and leveling up your emissary not an actual way to make millions from or gain a ton of rep
This applies to literally every part of this game
There’s a way more efficient way for this. If you stand on the book and look straight forward you can access the inventory, you then have your friend stand in front of you with a crate. Buy everything then back out of the buy screen. If you have a 3rd you can have them unloading. Once you’ve taken everything have the guy with the crate turn 90 degrees. This will give you LOS to the merchant and you can go back into the store, then your friend can turn again to block LOS. It’s several times more efficient than the blunder method especially if you have 3 people. We got about 1,000,000 an hour doing it at peak efficiency

Also outpost doesn’t matter at all, and you can buy the entire store of commodities with no problem. If you get the glitch where you can’t take anything from the merchant either restart the game and rejoin or buy something from someone.

I did try to buy something else but i still couldn’t pick up the bugged crate from the merchant. Do u know why and what i can do then?
I did this a few times and found more efficient ways
1. I was able to buy all ten crates and be fine.
2. After you buy all the crates you dont need to let your thrower collect all the crates themselves, you can exit the menu and help them once you bought all ten.
3. You can use the soviergn at ancient spire to sell, you'll make the same amount as selling it to the merchant.
4. Another good way to get grade 5 is to do deliverys and stop buy at island with barrels and get all the blunderbombs you can.
Also we managed to stack this for about 2 hours on a brig and made 2.1 mill once we sold at gold rush.
A little bit of math to help
-When you buy all 10 crates you spend 1,800 gold
-Each crate will sell for aroud 2,300 gold
-So this means each blunderbomb is worth around 23,000 gold

Sometimes, the crates aren't retrievable and remain in the merchant's inventory as 'checked,' and are unlocked when you buy something from the merchant, and sometimes it's impossible to retrieve the crates; pressing the button to retrieve the crate does nothing. Did I miss or do something wrong?
What do you do when you can't grab the crate from the NPC?

You can actually use cannonballs instead of blunderbombs. It doesn’t hurt you, and is a lot easier to get a lot of. It takes a bit longer to set up, but makes it easier in the long run since you don’t need to find more blunderbombs
Yeah this way I use to get myself up to grade 5 emissary cus you get your money back n on community weekend we probs make like 1k per cannons
@archpolecat Commodities change every week, it's easy to track using either Merfolk Lullaby's map or Rare Thief's map. Good system to exploit since it's so forgotten

Theoretically you can do this at every outpost then raise reaper and go get grade 5 for reaper by doing some odds and ends and then sell it to reaper
The lost shipment voyage is also good because the barrels in the ships can also have blunderbombs
According to my understanding, the outpost trading route rotates every two-three days. I was doing a lot of commodity runs a couple seasons ago (season 9) and there were some overpowered routes that I realized ended up changing after a couple days

In my experience the glitch has nothing to do with weather you move or not just as long as they hit you with the blunder and pick up the boxes youll be fine. Never done this myself i dont like gold exploits but ive done this plenty for hourglass recourses

Came upon this glitch myself you can do like 5-8 full buys before it bugs could vary across platform/systems. I’m on Xbox series x if that helps. Btw the bug I encountered was it stops letting you take from the merchant stopping you from accessing the menu
Edit, if you have a captained ship buy supplies I believe it gives 5 blunders. Btw buy supplies from the shipwright.

To make this more efficient, you do not need to leave the shop! just have your partner pull them as you buy them and then they will refresh as you are buying them!!
I'm pretty sure if you flip to the other page after buying 9 and let your guy grab them all then flip back it should refresh. No need to redo it again and again.

I've talked about it a lot and probably will at some point but honestly the comments works great for that. I get scared Rare will get into that discord and really screw up everything
There’s an exploit I accidentally replicated a few times but it may be up to chance and idk the specifics on it but we would do ashen lost shipments back to back and if you got the glitch where at the end you only got the manifest and the shipwreck wasn’t there, if you started another of the same quest and got the same route the another manifest would just spawn. After the 3rd time it gave us another route but it definitely made up for not getting all the other crates! Definitely look into and experiment with it.

@@archpolecat5218 I guess I should specify we had just pulled past the birds and didn’t go to the outpost to sell, we started another ashen lost shipment just past the birds and looked at the map and realized it was the same, turned around to find another book was in the water.

This is not just an exploit like the GH vault exploits which are safe. not getting banned, while this. Merchant exploit is a glitch. and rare can bann you for it, the chance is may low but still more dangerous than an exploit sry for my bad english its not my native language
If you raise hourglass then do this, it’s a really easy way of getting grade 5 hourglass loot level without having to dive for pvp, you barely get dove on from hourglass players

You can buy or find supply crate and fill it with as many bombs as possible. Then, put the supply crate in a mermaid statue in a shrine. Now you can leave game and switch servers. Then all the bombs will respawn and you can farm the server again. Go get the supply crate and add bombs, then just put it back in the merm and go again.
Btw you can go to ancient spire and sell at sovereigns

honestly buying commodities (wood/food) is better, you just gotta do it on a gallion and change the buyer every so often, I made 8M and 200 levels in like 5 or 6 hours

Technically would it work with the horn of the fair winds? It's easier to find and refill (with burried treasure chest) if it does the same job as the blunderbomb-move the character.
Someone was saying that this does work and that it is much more efficient but I haven't tried it for myself yet

Use recourse crates instead of commodities with a four man crew. I promise if you do the math you will get more per hour even with less profit. Buying a cannonball crate is $5k and selling it is $2,125(with emy 5) but all 4 players get it meaning the crew makes $8.5k. If you just alternate between bait and cannonball crates you will be much more time efficient therefore making more per hour. I made 9mil 70 minutes on community weekend with a highly efficient crew.
Either way this has already been patched sadly

Yo, quick question. Why are you selling those items to the merchant instead of the sovereings? I can see you are on a captain ship so what's the problem? It'd be much faster to just harpoon it and sell. Or maybe the commendation doesn't count when you sell it to the sovereigns?
You are right, it works just fine to sell commodities to the sovereigns

I'm pretty sure the sovereigns don't take surplus and sought after goods into account

That was an average my friend got 5 at level 250 and I got 15 at like level 17 so I took 7 as the general average

Yes, we did try this but it kept taking me out of the inventory. Still wondering if there might be a more sustainable way to do it though

You don't even need to go and get the grade 5, me and a friend did this with the resources creates, ie the cannon ball create, and it works better and faster than doing a lost shipment
I forgot to add, I believe that doing this method for grade 5 only uses one blunder bomb if you do it correctly

How much money did you spend on the resources in total? How did you get 300 K and seven levels?
The resources are 180 per crate and sell for around 2300 at emissary grade 5

@@kite1101Most of the time exploit abuse won't impact your account. However, sometimes they will retract earned gold or levels of they think the abuse has negatively impacted the player growth experience bad enough.

You can do the same thing to get supplies so you can ideally raise emissary then buy supplies to get a high grade then buy commodities
Why can't i take the cargo from the merchant? Tried suicide and rejoining but I just can't get it.
Either they patched it or the exploit is just being buggy, after all the game isn't really meant to do this

I wonder if you can do this solo by throwing a blunder up at the right angle before entering the buy screen. Or if you NEED to put the crates on your ship; allowing a 3rd player to make sell runs.

@@archpolecat5218 I tried on dagger and sanctuary. If you step back a bit (about the width of the dock) and throw directly upwards you can run and bring up the menu just before it lands. However, I was only able to get a smaller list; about 10 commodities. It's easily repeatable, but due to having a much smaller list it's not worth it. Maybe you can play with it and find something that works.

This has been partially patched but instead of exiting the menu and reopening (as it prevents you from doing that)you need to redo the being hit away method after buying the nine crates and then repeat

This exploit is miserable, and it is not your fault, only Rare’s. My merchant supplier won’t let me take the crates so I have to spend extra money to try to convince the trader to give it to me. 😢
Yeah we had the problem a few times it was lag and a few it was bugged hopefully you don't run into it too much though!

You sure? With grade 5 emissary i get around 2400 gold per box which is roughly a profit of 2200 gold.
