    Bro that was an interesting way to double check your bump cuts on the key. Darkening out the inner part of key was brilliant. I'm new at automotive locksmith ,but I'm blown away at home lock picking. My first picked lock was by watching my boss as she failed and decided to pick an other lock on the same house. I grabbed the pick and picked the lock myself in less than 15 seconds! I've been hooked ever since. Love your videos and new subscriber.

    Great video DALP. You make excellent how to videos. As much as I like supporting Lock sport companies like Sparrows. I have old keys various manufacturers. So I can make my own. This is a good how to video. Take care mate.

    One thing in regards to bump keys that I'm interested in knowing is if the length of the hammer matters at all. One with a handle half(ish) the length would fit better in my kit bag.

    • @DarkArtsLockPicking
      @DarkArtsLockPicking  Před 2 lety

      You can use anything and short hammers still work you just have to hit a bit harder. 👍🤘🖖🍻

    SO - ALL bump keys are cut to their lowest depth????

  • @Chaz_S.
    @Chaz_S. Před 11 měsíci

    How far apart do you think i need the ridges in cm or mm

  • @mynameisben123
    @mynameisben123 Před 7 měsíci

    What if the lowest pin isn’t that low?

    • @DarkArtsLockPicking
      @DarkArtsLockPicking  Před 6 měsíci

      Well the lowest pin is what your aiming for. Example a Lockwood's lowest pin is a 9 cut and when I cut bump keys I go for 9 cuts.

    • @mynameisben123
      @mynameisben123 Před 6 měsíci

      Ahh yep that makes sense but I mean if you grab a random key and make all of the cuts match the lowest on that key, and your lock happens to not have anything at the lowest depth - won’t you end up with a bump key that has too high cuts?

    • @DarkArtsLockPicking
      @DarkArtsLockPicking  Před 5 měsíci

      Well it would still be a bump key that should work as all the cuts are at the lowest depth for that lock.

    Bad tutorial. I want to see the difficult part the filing. That the key works is not important, we know that!

    • @DarkArtsLockPicking
      @DarkArtsLockPicking  Před 3 lety

      They filing is the easy part. And I didn't want to put people to sleep with the filing.

      @@DarkArtsLockPicking The problem is you have a key that is very clear....some aren't.....small points and very shallow valleys. Almost undistinquishable. Show us a difficult one and draw a dotted line of the cuts over a traced key.
