    THANK YOU JOSH! That was the first PP/NDI video I have watched that makes any sense. Most of the videos skip right over what NDI is or how to configure and use it.

      That is why we are here to do things a little differently Luther. I think it is always great when a few people make tutorials on the same stuff as we all do it a little different. Let me know if there are other topics you need a video on and I can always jump in and make one!

    I literally just found your video after spending 2 days without finding any solutions.
    I'm about to try this set up out and i hope it works!
    Please, a question. How to I use this same method but send to different screens?
    We have 1 stage Tv and 4 congregation Tv
    How do you think I can send different outputs to them with only one mac and a desktop (which I will use for the NDI)?

    Has anyone experienced Propresenter NDI output working for a period of time and then freezing. The NDI monitor on another computer sees it as an NDI option, but no actual content is being delivered out from Propresenter. It requires me to create a new NDI Screen in Propresenter, which will work for a short time before freezing again. This is on Propresenter 7 (latest as of this writing)

    Thank you for the video! That helped a bunch. I've got some ideas on how to use it now.
    We use analog video over coax to send the service to various TVs through out the building. Which has a terrible picture. I could use NDI to send it to those TVs.... Just need a way to hook the Ethernet up to the TVs?

    • @learnpropresenter
      @learnpropresenter  Před 3 lety +1

      Its a possibilty it just depends on your network bandwidth really. Other options could be things like the propresenter app and use an apple tv

    Hi there! I've got a concern that I hope can be resolved. I've been trying to send only lower third text/lyrics from ProPresenter through NDI to another computer running OBS. However, I can't seem to make the NDI output from ProPresenter turn transparent, which caused it to overlay the video/screen on the computer running OBS, hence it just shows a black screen that contains the lower third text/lyrics on it. There's no option on OBS either to make the NDI output from ProPresenter transparent either. Could I ask for some insight on how I can resolve this? Thank you!

    • @learnpropresenter
      @learnpropresenter  Před rokem +1

      This is called keying. It’s how green screens work. You need to go into the screen options in propresenter, click the fill screen colour option and choose bright green. You then need to setup the keying in one to get rid of the green part and it will just show your text. There’s heaps of videos about keying and ons on CZcams.

    Really weird question - if I want to send a NDI signal, would I need an encoder / decoder, or could I just purchase a Decoder?

    • @learnpropresenter
      @learnpropresenter  Před rokem

      You could send it from a computer to another computer and use the second computer as the decoder with the NDI apps available. This is the easiest and cheapest option if you have a spare computer. We used a 5 year old MacBook Air for ours and it worked fine when connected via ethernet.

    • @learnpropresenter
      @learnpropresenter  Před 2 lety +1

      If you’re using Ndi you’ll need to install the Ndi tools to receive the Ndi signal. You can’t just send an Ndi feed to a screen it has to be to another device e.g. computer with the Ndi tools installed and open to receive the Ndi feed

    • @learnpropresenter
      @learnpropresenter  Před 3 lety

      Hi Robert, I was unsure of this myself so had to go research it. My first answer would be to turn the wifi off but you might need it. Apparently you can set the settings in windows to do this for you in network adapter priorities. Just google prioritise ethernet over wifi windows and you should find an easy walkthrough

      Can't say i have done this before. But a quick google could take care of it. You might need to run a higher end pc as it may jeee to encode both streams at once and send them up at the same time. Also need to make sure you have the upload bandwidth for it.

    You mention that you add Facebook and CZcams comments on the NDI feed. How do you add those to the screen in Propresenter?

    • @learnpropresenter
      @learnpropresenter  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Steve, We are able to do this because we use restream.io. What that means is part of our restream subscription they have a chat function that pulls both facebook and youtube chats into one feed which is just a browser url. We can then create a text box on a slide and use thefill feature then select URL instead of colour which will embed this browser window into the stage display and you can resize it to suit what you would like to see.
      If you don't have restream I am not sure of other ways to get both youtube and facebook comments in one place but you could embed the chats feeds from each individually but these would need updating for every livestream as they change.

    Your videos are amazing! Question: Sending a video from ProPresenter through NDI to another computer running obs. Both the NDI monitor and the NDI feature in OBS have my videos coming in choppy. Any way to help fix that or is it a bandwidth issue?

    • @learnpropresenter
      @learnpropresenter  Před 3 lety

      Without knowing too much my best guess is its probably more of a processing issue on your computer. Id be checking the loads on the cpu or RAM first. Also video over ndi isn't always super reliable because of processing and also bandwidth

    (might be a duhh question): If I connect a streaming laptop (propresenter 7, i7 gaming) to another laptop (vMix, i5 regular) via ethernet cable to ensure smooth NDI input from vMix, does this mean the streaming laptop now has to stream off of wi-fi?

    Can you use NDI to use an LED wall (or monitor for instance) as an OUTPUT for ProPresenter? We have two outputs (screen and stage screen) but we need to add an output to our led screen which we can't run cables for (For some reason the idiots that installed it did not run cords for the LED screen to the main computer.)

    • @learnpropresenter
      @learnpropresenter  Před 11 měsíci

      I’m not sure. This would depend on if the LED screen can receive an NDI input or not. For example to use a computer as an output you would have to have NDI tools installed on it
