- The Crucible is the culminating event in recruit training. Working toward this point since the beginning of their recruit training, the only way to finish is through leadership, teamwork, hard work, and dedication. The Crucible forces recruits to combine and employ everything they've learned over the past three months. Only after the completion of this event will they earn the title United States Marine.
I leave for bootcamp tomorrow. Can't wait to claim that title
Ben Rodriguez how was it?
Weezer Fanatic He not done
Ghostex yes lol wow I honestly forgot I posted this
Marine Corps it was rough, by far the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. It was worth it though for sure.
Ben Rodriguez I leave in September. I was originally supposed to leave July 15 but my ship date was postponed. 0861 fire direction control specialist.
I endured the crucible 18 years ago, and my body is STILL angry at me. Semper fi, brothers!
my son will enter the Crucible at 2:00 am on 1/05/17. Get it done son, earn the title.
Dellad74 How did it go?

I tried so hard not to cry when they handed me my EGA, but it's so hard hahaha
You earned it brother.
Didnt we all lmao
Bro i told myself i wouldnt cry but when DI SSGT DAVIS gave me my EGA i started crying like a baby
I fake cried cause everyone else cried lol
You should have been too exhausted to cry
Warriors breakfast. Starving for 3 days then u get all that food and your stomach has shrunk so much you’re full after 3 bites.
2fast335i we had like half the platoon eat too much and puke
We were told everyone could get 2nds. But when we went up, they changed their mind and said no. This made so many people including the DI’s mad.
so fucking true😂😂 i remember after the reaper hike we were all cold af and so fucking sweaty, we were all starving (we all finished our MREs either the first or 2nd day of the crucuble). I was so hungry i was shaking pretty badly😂😂😂
I was shaking so bad the only thing I could eat was the soft serve ice cream!
The hump back to the squad bay.DAMN!!!😂🤣
Anyone who puts themselves through this when there are easier paths to take in life have my respect
Today at 2am my brother is going through the crucible in San Diego my prayer to him and all the future Marine family ♡
Haydee Luna how did he do
He did really good he mentioned that it was overwhelming but wouldn't trade it for anything
#SemperFI
Haydee Luna Semper Fi. I pray for you, your family and your brother, my brother. I have watched over you and your family by land, air and sea. Now, time has come for our brother to do the same. I love all of you. Tell your brother I am always with him. By his side. To watch over him. I got his "6"
As a recruit, standing before the reaper, tired and hungry, I could easily say that part was the worst for me. It reaped my feet :(
Robbie Knox I had 7 blisters on my two feet.
I got the right boot size cuz I knew that "your feet are gonna swell" shit was bs. not one blister.
7.62x54epic some people’s feet do swell so it’s not bullshit
The worst part for me was coming back down
@@simonroh4958 agreed, the zombie walk sucked
My son is in the 2 day of the crucible in San Diego today. Tomorrow he will be a Marine.
Is he still in?
I broke both my feet on the Reaper but I crawled up that damn mountain in the dark where no drill instructors saw me and stood in line to get my EGA.. I spent the next week with every drill instructor on the compound yelling at me to quit during graduation practice but I high stepped it the hell out of there and did the graduation ceremony broke feet and all.
Damn son I hope you got the documented. Also, you graduated and went straight to MCT or ITB, or did you graduate and went straight to BMP
@@darthorion2002 I didnt get it documented till I went on recruiting assistance before MCT however the Airforce base I got the broke bones Xrayed at lost my records.
@@nonyabiz9487 damn I’m sorry to hear about that. You deserve VA compensation for that.
Ten years ago, I completed the Crucible. Today, my husband finished the Army's Forge. Reflecting today on all of it, on my journey in uniform and what I went through, on what I know he just went through. I remember the pride of that success and achievement, and feeling the EGA in my hand. It's hard for me to transition back into military life, especially this time as just a spouse, a dependent. But I'm keeping my head high, remembering what I achieved as a Marine.
Remember: once a Marine, always a marine
My brother just finished this phase. So proud of him and seeing this makes me see how truly tough it is. Can’t wait to see him!!
My husband was a blue/green USN corpsman who loved his marines. God bless them all.
DAMN good, Marines, shout OUT, to all Corpsman, we both do it N the MUD!!!!... Vietnam era Grunt...3/5...1/9..
Nowhere near as tough as being married to my ex wife.
@Kayla Schafer its a joke, chill.

Kayla Schafer nah! I’m a female and I found it funny. Pretty sure she was a narcissistic 😂
You truly never forget who helped you in your time of need. I was injured during the crucible and couple hike as fast as everyone else and fell behind. Those brothers to the left and right of me made sure I wasn’t left behind and I think about that all the time.
im going to boot camp on monday im so pumped!!!!! OOORAH!!!

Good job to all of the men and women that bear that sacred emblem. I wish I had joined, but I wanted to "see the world." Lol. Maybe in another life. I was in Operation Iraqi Freedom though. They truly are the few and the proud. Salute.
Why don't they ever show a crucible at Pendelton? Nothing sucks more about the crucible than a hike to the Reaper, just to hike up the reaper.
Back in the 70's we called it Mount MF.....if I'm thinking of the same thing
Some motivating sh*t right there! Oorah!

i got goosebumps from this
I’m hyped, I leave for boot camp Aug 24, 2020 :)
i went August 26th 2019, best decision you’ll ever make it’s way different than the videos

Patrick how was it?
If you get in 1st BTN good luck lol. It’s fun though
Dillon try Charlie co. Lol
My grandson is facing the Crucible in less than 1 week. God bless all those who have gone through it before and will in the future. My heart is bursting with pride and gratitude.
My boyfriend just started the crucible. He’s got this I know it ❤️
In 68 we didn't have the crucible, we had BITS, ITR, and I Corps, which was my crucible. And I am proud to say I passed. Semper Fi.
I'm ready, next week I'll be in bootcamp.
Good luck!!
I'm a DI so I'll meet you there
NASCARvill F. F. oh my
NASCARvill F. F. No you aren’t you POS
How did it go
I have to be honest: I've never been in the military, but I believe it would do WONDERS for our country if every man and woman who, upon no later than 6 months from the date they turn 18, are required by law to enter into 3 months of Marine Corps training. Every. Single. American. You don't need to join the Marines or any branch of the military, but you must go through Marine basic training.
Imagine the outstanding country we would have in a few years.
One of the best feelings I've ever had was being handed that EGA by my Senior Drill Instructor! I'll never forget shaking that mans hand. Much respect for Ssgt Vargas and my Drill Instructors for making me the man I am today
One of the proudest days of my life. Oorah!!!
It’s been 7 years now, and I’m still just as proud now as I was then.
I have 2 sons and a son in law who all did the crucible , hearing each time one of them made it, brought tears to my husband and I. We are so proud of our Marines. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤❤❤. My father is a retired Marine 🇺🇸❤. The MCRD in San Diego really felt like hallowed grounds. I believe that all 3 cried when they received the eagle , globe and anchor at the end.
I went to San Diego, but the crucible was the toughest thing I've done in my life, both mentally and physically. But in the end, it was worth it
My son completed the Crucible last week. We are on our way to MCRD San Diego right now to see him graduate. I couldn’t be more proud of my Marine!!
I survived the crucible feb 2014. Best experience ever!
They make it out to be so much harder than it really is.
Like its the RPAT or something
Good to hear. I'm kinda terrified of it ngl.
@@Pineapple-co6fe By the time you get to it, you're already well prepared for it and you'll look forward to it, since it marks the end of boot camp. If you make it there, all you have to do is not give up. Receiving is much, much worse imo

Cousin graduated today at Paris island so emotional
I leave for boot camp Monday and I am excited to start the journey to earning the title of United States Marine
How was it?
I almost didn't make it to the top of the Reaper. Fell out and was 4 platoons behind. Fell down, rolled onto my pack, the whole nine. But I got up and placed one foot in front of the other. Tried to imagine I was going to the chow hall lol
Chaz Wilson did you pass
I salute all of them who are true warriors in the making for the United States Marine Corps semper fi
I didn't have a crucible we had RFTD during third phase training and the Sunday before graduation we would gather on the steps of the Chapel and sing the Marines Hymn loud and proud. Still though just as proud as these guys.
I didn't have anyone in these platoons but as I watched those men succeed it still drew a tear of PRIDE for them to my eyes !!!!!! This is what my grandson in Echo 2044 will be accomplishing soon !!!!!
Leaving June 8th, never been more excited for anything in my life OORAH🇺🇸
hello. my boyfriend left shortly a month after you. since you went through during covid..can you tell me how the crucible was and what happened after he graduates? will he gets his phone for the weekend or what happens?
Beautiful. My little brother is currently at boot camp, I’m very proud of him.

I'd do the crucible again. It was fun.
+Grandma Gobbler That's not something you hear everyday lol.

Just graduated hehe crucible is no joke
Gabe A That's OK to Cry with Tears Of Joy..You worked Hard For That..Semper Fi Marine

Very Emotional time for a young man or woman to have completed both recruit training and The Crucible. Moments before standing there having the 1st words of praise shower you, you were still hiking that last mile to the parade deck with your brothers or sisters next to you realizing that some of those who started with you, did not make it. Lol my crucible consisted of recruit fighting rings, the drill instructors were the judges, they said if anyone ever ask why a bloody nose or blood on clothing just to say it was intense motivation to make the grass grow.
Must be nice to just stand in line and wait your turn to do the event.

I dont know. I never enlisted and couldn't too many health issues. The humidity on this side of the country is no joke, especially in the summer. At least with the mountains, the altitude helps with the humidity, the heat is dry and you have the coastal wind to cool you. I'd imagine PT, the marches with and without rucks with the weather here, especially in the the summer would suck.
