I have the SIRUI but it’s not sharp at all in the middle. Tried lots of positions and always same results. Is it faulty if perhaps all anamorphic lenses for mobile behave like this?

Yeah… mobile anamorphic is not really good in general in my opinion

does, because of the anamorphic lens, the quality of the video decrease ? and it is the same if i film in 16:09 on my pixel and crop afterwards ( neglecting the flares ) thanks

Does the filter lens will reduce that blue flare? 🤔

I got Ulanzi 1.55x one, all is good, except the bokeh is horizontal instead of vertical. I kept waiting for your video to show blurred bulbs in the back, with close focused subject, thats a very good way to notice the bokeh. I tried it with shutting off all lights, and just adding a spot to the subject and in the back i hung LED lights and everything else was dark. The bokeh although has the cinematic look, but isn't vertical and that's a big disappointment for me. I noticed in your video in the car scene, so if you could do this test with bulbs, that would be cool

Did you try to simply rotate the lens?)

@@NOlimitsON Yes of course, when the stretch is vertical, the brokeh is horizontal 😭

Lets Say I have a decent wide angle lens, If I crop the top and Bottom portion to get black bars, this means that I am Getting every parameters of anamorphic lens (minus the flares) right? Just a hypothesis and need not to be Confused :)

Hey) no, you don’t)) you don’t get a desqeezed image and oval bokeh as well) I have a lot of videos about anamorphic lenses for mirrorless cameras on the channel - you can have a look and it’ll make everything clear for you

The main advantage of anamorphic is that out gives you the same depth of field/vertical field of view of a particular focal length but the "horizontal field of view" of a wider lens.
So a 50mm 1.33x anamorphic lens will give vertical FOV and DOF of a 50mm lens but the horizontal FOV of a 50/1.33=37mm lens! Oval bokeh and flares are secondary advantages IMO.
On a phone, let's say your main sensor is paired with a 26mm lens. If you use a third party app and shoot 4:3 squarish video i.e. 4000x3000 pixels with an 1.33x anamorphic adapter, the resulting video after desqueezing will become a normal 16:9 4K video but with the vertical FOV of a 26mm lens and the HFOV of 26/1.33=19.5mm! Which will look quite unique.

Just buy a Sony xperia 1 mk 3-4 or pro-i for this view, no blue flare and have autofocus.
