One thing I always forget when I take photos is to engage my core, you know, tighten my belly. 🤣
I struggle with self confidence to take photos of myself for my business and I’m a cat lover. So for those two reasons i love your channel! Bella is a cutie pie ❤️
In the winter, it gets darker and there is no beautiful lighting. Even outside, it's dark. and no golder hour at all. how do you cope with taking photos at this time?
Hi Amy! Ah that is such a good question, and coming from Scandinavia I know all about dark Winters! :D I've found the best way to go about it (or what's worked for me at least) is to go with it instead of against it and use that darker and moodier season in your photos too. So in the Winter my photos would naturally take a more moody and dark color palette, but you could still spice it up by adding elements of rich colors (like flowers and wearing colorful clothes), so it doesn't get all too depressing hehe. And, then try to plan your schedule if at all possible so that you take the photos when there is most light during the day, and look for locations with a lot of natural light inside and outside locations with brigther materials to reflect as much light as possible. Start adding light to your pictures. You can go with just a cheap speedlight and modifier to start and expand on your flashes and strobes later or you take the plunge and get more expensive LED lights right away if you don't feel like learning flash.

Hi Melissa! So glad you discovered my channel, thank you so much for watching and for your lovely words, that makes me so glad to hear. Ah yes the focus part can be tricky sometimes when shooting by yourself. What I do is I place something in the spot I will be in the frame. So for example I'll place my camera bag on the ground, tilt the tripod to focus on the bag, then tilt the tripod back up so that the focus area is in theat spot I will be standing. Don't know if that made any sense but basically I try to focus on a prop, and then I take its place so I know it will be sharp :) Hope this was helpful!
I’ve just started following you and just let me say I’m loving your channel. I do have a question, do you have any videos for photographing yourself when your on the heavier side. I’m doing a self journal and would like to include photos but as a 60 year old, and over weight, I’m struggling. I do like your thought of hiding your face but then there are times I think it does need to be there.

I’ve been doing voiceovers and just showing my hands. I feel it isn’t as personal but since I left this comment I was thinking of ways to show a little more of my arms and stuff without having to show my face haha. Voiceover is awesome 😁
