  • Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
    - a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
    - a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
    - a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
    - a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways
    - a far-side impact test, the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated by two dummies in the front.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

The DS9 protected the occupants in the moving barrier test better than the Range Rover did. 11.4pts for Range Rover and 12.3pts for DS9.

Me extraña que en las plazas traseras no haya saltado el airbag lateral de torax ya que todas las versiones de este modelo los lleva, si no esto es inaceptable y inadmisible.

For those who studied the NCAP PDF, the DS9 was bound for NINE (9) stars, but was deemed "TOO AGRESSIVE".
The Different Spirit initially refused to die against a concrete obstacle. But when it got going, it did so in overly agressive "do or die" fashion.
PS: Car sells 100 units a month ... globally. In other words - soon to die in real life

It's PSA, what do you expect?

Stellantis urgently need to find a way to stop their cars mowing down cyclists. Barely any of their cars has managed five stars in these new tests (I think only the DS4 with optional safety pack).

DS can't get only 4 stars and expect to be a competitor for Mercedes and BMW

DS 9 would be an aggressive impact partner in a frontal collision and the score was penalised accordingly. (If u dig it at Euroncap, the occupants were safe in all the crashes)

It's funny how Citroen is more focused on making the interior as kitschy as possible full of fake diamonds than on making their cars safe.

      Citroen????
      Nearsighted?
      Reading disorder?

@@DonDixit I mean he isn't that wrong, as DS Automobiles was owned by Citroën from 2009 till 2015.
Now it's a standalone luxury brand owned by Stellantis (who also owns Citroën, Peugeot and even other Brands like Opel, Fiat and Chrysler)
But you can't technically say anymore that DS is still owned by Citroën anymore.
Also, instead of being rude asking him, if he's nearsighted or has a reading disorder, why can't you just explain to him, what I explained to you rn?
Because being rude and having a attitude, isn't a good look for u

@@DonDixit Pretending, or actually clueless? DS is a Citroen luxury brand. They're developed by the same engineers that develop Citroens. They use the same platforms, the same engines, the same gearboxes, the same suspension, the same chassis, the same interior materials, the same factories, the same suppliers, the same parts essentially. DS is still Citroen, despite being separate on paper. I'd know, I work with several closely related engineering companies.

@@Christian17390 He lacks about 80 IQ points and about 15 years of university level education to be able to talk to me, if he's lucky to get an appointment, let alone explain something to me. I have more knowledge about cars alone than he does about everything he knows anything about, combined, and then multiplied by 1000. The fact that he tried to call me "Nearsighted" to insult me proves how unintelligent he is. Nearsighted would be of no disadvantage when sitting in front of a computer watching a video, he even sucks at insulting, on top of not knowing anything about cars.

It failed on the most basic test : driver protection (marginal for chest and neck)… Seriously?
I mean, it was close to 5* but still… A premium car like that should be at the top of the safety ratings !
