    Considering this is Skinner, there's only two ways the story could go: Number one, his 'elementary school principal' side is in charge and it's a sweet happy story where nothing seriously goes wrong. Number two, his 'Vietnam PTSD' side is in charge and it's violent to a degree that makes the actual Jurassic Park look like an episode of 'Barney and Friends.' There is no middle ground.

    This has always been one of my favorite moments in the show's history and I still laugh every time I watch it. It's just so freaking random how angry Apu ends up getting and the idea that he carried on like that for a while makes it even funnier. By the end, when he's pushing his neck forward, i'm done. LMFAO Skinner looks like his hopess, dreams, and pride were all crushed forever. Then, "Thank you, come again".

    This is why (classic era) Apu is more than the ethnic stereotype he was conceived as. This is one of those moments that realizes him as a fully developed character, and is a standout performance by Hank Azaria.

      To be fair, it wasn't the people who had (fair complaints) that were the problem... it was the people that decided to remove Apu.
      Doing that made the people talking about their experiences into bad guys.
      I mean, is it really wrong for people who had to deal with executives expecting the Apu voice or kids bullied for Apu to talk about their experiences???
      It's the people who overreacted that made Apu remembered as a stereotype....

      @TheDeathmail I'm talking about how Hank Azaria has said in interviews that Apu was based on an irate Indian convenience store worker he knew at the time. The script didn't call for anyone ethnically specific for the role of store clerk; that's all Azaria. In his first appearance he's a bit rude. It's not until later on that they develop his character, and he became much more dimensional.

      @@TheDeathmail South Park has a guy who is literally white with DID doing Yellow Face as a Chinese restaurant owner and they didn't get rid of him. They did however get rid of Mr. Hankey to make fun of getting rid of Apu. They even called it "The Problem with Poo." Lampooning "The Problem With Apu." While also having Mr. Hankey move to Springfield where Apu welcomes him. So ya you're right, Disney chickened out.

    This is hands-down the best scene in the entire series. It comes completely out of nowhere, it is edited with precision, and it shows the only element of eracibility in the otherwise (up to that point) two-dimensional Apu. Finding his completely random-hot button cracks me up every time I see it.

    I love this so much. Just out of nowhere, Apu becomes enraged by something as trivial as Skinner not knowing how successful Jurassic Park was. It's so random, and yet so perfect. xD

    Might be one of the best Simpsons jokes. The fact it's so random and also tied into the plot is brilliant. Coming up with a stupid movie idea is exactly what a middle aged man going through a crisis would do. Apu, who is normally so calm, going into a rage over the idea is hilarious.

    Fun fact: Someone actually did write a book called Billy and the Cloneasaurus, though from what I've read of the premise, it's different to what Skinner describes.
    Also, in case anyone's wondering, yes, there is a one-star review that consists entirely of Apu's rant, complete with the "Thank you, come again."

    I always loved to think how later, when Skinner unintentionally redirects those military shells at Apu’s store, right after he’s finished installing and filling those gas pumps. It was sort of his revenge for chewing him out earlier.

    This is non sequitur humor done right, because it's not truly out of nowhere. It connects us to Skinner being completely out of touch and to the fact that he doesn't really have much going for him outside of being the principal. It's wonderful showing and not telling.

    I love the thought that Apu just berates him for fifteen mintues. One of the most suprisingly memorable scenes for me, as this really didnt have anything to do with the episode; its the one where Skinner gets fired
