I knew Nick would do this in an attempt to diminish Jordan, it actually further weakens his argument for LeBron as number 1 (who we all know he's listing).
Jordan has TEN SCORING TITLES, which is the most ever and won 7 consecutive. Which is also the most ever. His dominance as a scorer even surpasses Wilt as he's the regular and post seasons all-time leader in career PPG. He has more championships, Finals MVPs, regular season MVPs, Defensive team selections, more steals titles, a DPoY award, and led the Bulls to the first three-peat of the modern era (did it twice). Even the advance metrics say Jordan is the greater player. Lastly, no single player in league history had a greater global impact on the sport of Basketball than Michael Jordan. @@hardwoodthought1213 it's easier to score in 1v1 situations today because the rules have eliminated certain contact that allows defenders to deter players. The opening of the court with more spacing also facilitates easier scoring. These rule changes were made specifically to increase scoring because the league wanted to increase perimeter play.
      The league averages after NBA prohibited hand-checking and reinstated zone defenses were actually worse than the previous season (2005): 97.2 PPG /44.7 FG% / 106.1 DRTG & (2004): 93.4 PPG / 43.9 FG% / 102.9 DRTG.
Now, zone defense definitely makes it easier for teams to contain a single player, but the more recent NBA rules have largely aimed to increase scoring, specifically from wing and perimeter players by giving them ample freedom to move around the court unimpeded.

Michael Jordan went for steals and blocks trying to embarrass opponents (what bullies love). The best defenders concentrate on lowering opponents efficiency (shutting them down). by staying in front of them and not giving up easy buckets. Jordan had the talent to do that, but that is not what he consistently did. As for all the all defensive 1st teams and that DPOY award, uggh, they are mostly about popularity with the media. He is obviously one of the couple greatest players, but it wasn't because of defense.
Sadly, everything with Jordan is exaggerated/mythical. His hold on the media's imagination is astonishing. It doesn't matter what it is, they say Jordan did it better. Lebron plays in an age where the game isn’t as taxing and advancements in sports medicine allow players to play longer then they would have otherwise. Rationale for Jordan at number 3 is ludicrous. I think Jordan is the Goat, Magic number 2, Lebron at 3, and Kareem at 4, but hey Nick is entitled to his opinion. Jordan" made" Scottie Pippen, which is significant different than the other two remaining top 2 players. Kareem never made Magic, rather Magic took over him as a rookie and won the MVP in the finals. Lebron went to chase an already champion in D-Wade and when he was of no use to Lebron he went to Kyrie and got Kevin Love. That is why I argue that Magic is the second best player in my opinion, yes he had his bad moments in the finals but like the other greats other than Michael Jordan everyone had those. Since obviously Nick is playing the longevity game, which favors Lebron and Kareem and hurts Magic and Jordan why don't we try comparing all 4 players Best 11 years. This is the amount of time that Jordan played without either injuries (year2) or coming back from retirement. You will clearly see that Jordan is the best regardless of what 11 years you compare with Lebron, Magic, or Kareem. Interesting thing about Jordan unlike the other top two players is that once Jordan began winning, no one was able to take the title from him in the Finals. Just giving my two cents on the debate but like I said before everyone is entitled to their opinion!

How can you discredit longevity and in the same breath create a sample size that fits exactly with who you’re arguing for? That’s objective to you?
You can’t even compare Kareem’s 11 years to MJ’s because Kareem played without a 3PT line for the front half of his career.

Jordan was BY FAR the better offensive player than Lebum. 10 scoring titles to Lebum's 1. He was a better defender than LeFraud and one of the greatest defenders of all-time. And he was a better winner. Winning more titles in less time, and with arguably lesser players than Lebron. So how is Lebum worse both offensively AND defensively, worse as a winner, less decorated...But he's somehow the better player?!?! That's the definition of a delusion or just flat out bitter hating. Not to mention MJ's game was far more pleasing to watch to the point casuals and even non basketball fans tuned in just to watch him play.
