    You are correct, you can very much rip that tire off! And the back ones, and your steps. For added fun install a $120,000 GPS grading package and stick the receiver pole through the cab windows haha. (Don't worry I haven't done any of these but I've heard stories).

    Well I do know someone who finish bladed a 0.317:1 slope, that's pretty darn vertical in my books. Also that trick comes in really handy when you need to road it somewhere. I've seen countless guys trying to shovel/brush off all the rocks and dirt that accumulate on the top of the blade (so you don't drop them on the road by accident). I just swing it out a little past 90* and give a little shake, falls right off! Work smarter not harder.

    That's a great prank to pull on the new guy before he gets on the machine after you, let the rookie figure that one out.

    I love running a good 140H, best blade ever made as far as I'm concerned. I also have spun the moldboard around for finishing in tight areas. But I never kicked it out to the side like that. The "H' will spin the circle around "under" the machine. It does take a lot of pratice though. But to reach the point of a true "finish" blade hand, you have spent your share of time in the seat.

      vmikeb1 140H best blade ever. Rental yards are all going to the Ms and I hate em.

      That's is the easiest way to change out the cutting edge. Side shift, rotate and reverse the mulboard so the cutting edge retaining nuts are faced down and the cutting edge face is up. Rattle gun the nuts off, knock the bolts up and out and the blade just sits there. Lift them off, sit the new in place, place the bolts in etc. Very easy job but some make it very difficult.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety +2

    @rthom86 You don't grease the circle gears or the blade sideshift, there are brass wear blocks that you replace. Grease would just pick up all the dirt and wear it out faster! It's complaining a bit because it was a spare and hadn't been used in a while.

    @vantagetes  Před 15 lety +2

    Long story short we had two foremen who didn't really get along (both have moved on to other companies). The first one flipped the blade around and the second couldn't figure out how to put it back so he finally gave up and drove it back to the boneyard backwards haha!

  • @bradoakley0214
    @bradoakley0214 Před 13 lety +1

    very smooth. this is a must have trick for blade changes, it sucks crawling around on the ground cause your operator cant figure it out...

    It's like a miter saw for dirt.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety +1

    @redstone31 Are you talking about the piece of grass, or the chunk of dirt that fell off the circle?

  • @sprucesoldier
    @sprucesoldier Před 5 lety

    Used to turn the blade backwards and watch the news try and figure that out! Lol

  • @TheBumcum
    @TheBumcum Před 13 lety

    @rthom86 yeah u use slides on the blade, and shoes on the circle, your blade either makes a bad sound from your shoes being worn out to much, incorrect adjustment from the circle drive to the circle its self.

    First time i seen the grader guy do it kinda caught me off guard. We were changing edges, started kinda like 1:08 till we got em off, then 1:40 putting them on. He had the blade a little closer to the ground... but it made it nice instead of crawling under the table.

  • @TheBumcum
    @TheBumcum Před 13 lety

    @redstone31 if that was a fluid squirt or a leak it wouldnt come out like that, the hydrualics are under alot of pressure, if there was a leak like that it would burst under high pressures

    I cant figure out why I cant do this on a 14M. I'm guessing because this blade doesn't have enough pin holes? It's got 5 positions. Am I just missing something or you just cant do this on some blades??

  • @vantagetes

    Haha already tried that. Its not easy as when the blade loads with dirt you lose sight of your edge and tend to pick up out of habit.
