    Thanks for the look man, it's so different to how we do it over here, I'm pretty sure to transport a 65 here we have to drop the stick off, great work...=D
    P.s it looks nice to have the heater going in the snow....I hate summer...lol

    @GAH1950 5:15, there is a curb on the ground where the bucket would go. 6:12 I use the weight of the raised implement to start the tipping process and then smooth the landing out by raising the boom and bringing the center of gravity in (boom travels in arc). Smooth as silk 6:30 the trailer is sliding on the ice as it's on a tilt. One half is up on the higher side of the curb and one side is lower, nothing you can do about that, it's -25*c and everything is frozen solid. Thanks for watching.

    As a former 360 Operator (15 years experience) and now a Low Loader driver first thing i noticed was the outriggers not being used, Not sure on the rules in that country but anything over a 240 size machine i use outriggers. And also chaining it like that, i wouldnt, I chain the far side of the trailer bed to the far side of the track plates, so chains cross. Its also how me move Armoured vehicles and Tanks for the Army.

    @MrDeeretime Kinda but not. Its Brandt's 650D but Northstar was using it as theirs was being repaired. The first part was picking theirs up and bringing it to Martindale, then we traded it off for this one and the video we are unloading it outside their yard.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety

    Yes because we have more axles in the rear of the trailer so we try to get the weight back. Application is on it's way as soon as you stop digging with all the windows open and getting dust in the cab =p (I know I know I dug underground with the front open so I could hear the ground crew too).

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety

    Yes the heat will cause the tracks to tighten as the grease expands in the piston, although usually the change between cold weather to hot weather is slow enough that you won't notice.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety

    @macdugmac no because it was a rental that another company rented. We just returned it to the dealership for them.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety

    69 tons. The trailer is set up to move 657s, 607-5s and 385s (around 85 tons) so it's pretty beefy.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 12 lety

    @Mark291074 If you look at the back end of the hoe you can see it was cross chained on one end of the undercarriage. My chaining down procedures are a little rusty but I believe around here you only need to cross chain one end of the undercarriage on a tracked machine. As for the outriggers I'll be honest I have been in this industry my entire life and I cannot recall seeing them used. Yes they would be nice to use but around here the float is always behind and needs to be to the next move!

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety

    I tried to get as much of the trailer setup as I could just for you!

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 13 lety +1

    @kellysheavyhaul So if you wanted to have enough chains on there for the weight... you'd have 20 ton in chains on that trailer. If you get in a situation where you need that much holding it down... you'd rather is came off the trailer instead of taking you for a ride with it.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety

    To be honest I have no idea. We picked one up and delivered it to their job then loaded this one to return to the dealer for them.

    tidy machine and gr8 vid as usual

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety

    @bfurnace If you're not tracking perfectly straight with that much contact area on the trailer you can actually flex the trailer. Not to mention it's bad form to tear up their nice decking. Some guys don't care and turn machines to unload them off the side, but those are the same guys who rub all the paint of the counterweight. Not my style.

    I haul wheels. No tracks. My trailer is soooo nice.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 14 lety

    The stick coming off is probably more due to height restrictions rather than weight.

  • @vantagetes
    @vantagetes  Před 13 lety

    @TheTylewis It has nothing to do with being scared or not With that much weight if you turn it will twist that trailer like a pretzel.

    Nice vid.How many tries to get hooked back up with the jeep?I used to do it with a single axle jeep,and it could be a pain.Ever think of making an air stinger for that neck,like BWS Trailers has on their double drop air assist detach trailers?

  • @richardtheone
    @richardtheone Před 13 lety

    how come you never used the out riggers on the trailer? with everything being cold and greasey i would think that little bit of extra deck would be worth it in case something were to slip

  • @TowWyo
    @TowWyo Před 14 lety

    @topfireman It is a little less then a Cat 365, so yeah bigger then a smaller excavator...
