I like the idea of some retail only products. Some cant afford the hobby boxes and the retail only with chases would allow others to get more heavily involved in the card world.
Generally always love the Chrome and Chrome Update sets. This year's Update doesn't really have any big name rookie chases (at least for now) and the auto checklist is really long, but the MLB debut patches are a great addition as a chase. Probably buy mostly retail or hobby to put the set together and buy singles of some PC cards. Thanks for the video
As someone who recently got into baseball and baseball cards by proxy, I never opened it when it was retail. I will say though, all products should have some sort of retail so people with much smaller budgets can still buy.

Just getting back into the hobby, so a lot of it went right over my head. Saw one of these boxes online and looked it up on CZcams. Seems cool
Ive just gotten back into collecting cards over the last two years and having to restart my entire collection. After years of serving in the military and constantly moving around the United States and the world, my wife convinced me to get rid of my collection, because I had a giant trunk full of cards that took away a few hundred pounds from our weight allowance provided by the military movers. As I'm a year away from retiring from the military, I decide to start collecting again, while also introducing my kids to the sports card collecting hobby. I still remember as a kid, going down to the grocery store and buying the latest edition of Beckett Pricing guides to look up the value of my cards. I'm a big fan of Topps Chrome Products and really all of the chromium sports card products. Especially since I could never really afford to buy packs of the high end Chrome/foil cards as a kid. Breaks are also something new to me that I never knew existed in the hobby until I started collecting again and buying into some of your breaks. it gives me a great opportunity to possibly get one of the high end cards that would previously be unattainable due to the high cost of buying hobby boxes with limited value in return. At $140 for a Topps Chrome Update hobby box, I love it because it is an affordable option that doesn't break the bank and provides an opportunity to pull one of the top young stars in the game. I would also just like to thank you for all the content covering the hobby. It has given me an enormous insight into the hobby as it is today and many of the changes that have happened between the time I left the hobby and then returned. keep up with the awesome content.
I love all of it bud! Started collecting cards at 6 years old in 1989, got out of it in 2000. Just got back into collecting this past summer to start a collection for my 6 year old to take over eventually. He's into baseball now and hoping he'll love collecting as much as I do!

I like the checklist. Odds of doing well on parallels is decent.
I am not much of a baseball collector, but I enjoyed watching both products. I like a longer break for myself personally but would really enjoy watching the Breakers Delight when I am not paying for it! :) Thanks for the videos!

I love that they changed the format being more in line with regular chrome and it's parallels. Purples and pinks got a little overkill.

Hobby box seems great for the average collector. Jumbo a little pricey especially if you don't get much. I like all the inserts and the RC. Have heard of people complaining about roller marks and scratches on some cards. Generally I think it's a great release (way better than last year). I am starting off my baseball card collection career and seems like a great product especially with those fire rookie debut patches!! That was such a genius idea to do that. I think it helped make this product very attractive encouraging people to buy. Great video keep it going!🔥👍⚾
A lot of people aren't talking about this but they are skimping in parallels, color and numbered cards (non autos ) and ramping them up in retail lately. This was sent in Topps update where you would get basically 2 to 3 parallels per mega or value box. I guess it's better if all your able to afford is retail
Love the Debut Patches and the chase its creating! I havent been a long term collector or buyer but just getting into it I like the chrome products and already have pulled a bunch of big hits!

Man, I love any update products. 2022 update is what got me back in the hobby after 20+ years out of it. So it will always hold a special place in my heart!

Really like the change to hobby/jumbo/breaker boxes, never bought any update out of retail. I love the idea of the chase card patches - those will be amazing. Would like to see Hockey and Football do the same. Good stuff RGL!

Its always exciting to have them big chase cards.. I like the option of bypassing a ton of vet base for the hits.. But overall its chrome and the cards do look great..

I think “breakers delight” is a solid product idea because a lot of people don’t want all the base. So it’s a nice alternative. It’s one of those things where if it’s not for you just don’t buy it.
I love the debut patch 1/1’s super cool that it was worn during their debut. I also like the lava parallel, I’d never seen them before til your break last night. But there are so many parallels anymore it’s just too much for me personally

TY for the video. Any Topps Chrome Product is good and it always hold value similar to Bowman Chrome 1st Rookies. With how big Players Jerseys are, would of liked to see /5 Debut Patches as well to make it worth the Price point.
What made Topps Traded/Update fun and affordable was that is was a retail only product. Now with hobby its just overly watered down and took the chase out of the retail. Unless there is a retail only chase, whats the point of retail anymore...thanks for sharing!!
1/1 debut patches are in retail too (someone pulled one of the first 9 debut patches from a blaster already), so that would be the big chase.
First year buying cards in forever so not sure about last year release but the MLB patch rookie debut is cool. Especially w being able to pull out a blaster.
I think it's good to have the different formats the debut patches are a nice touch also
I think Topps was very creative with the Pro Debut patches, Update seems like it could be rough this year for the cost but love they added autos which makes it 100 x better than last years Update.

Really like the idea of an actual game-worn 1/1 debut patch. Although pulling it will be extremely tough, it gives the update product a fun chase and distinguishes it from the OG chrome set. Thank you for the information and preview!

Hey RGL, the rookie class isn't too great and not a fan of sticker autos, but I like the chance for a rare insert and the 1/1 rookie debut patch would be a insane pull. Knowing the patch was worn by the player on his debut and also can see the patch on the players sleeve in the photo is pretty cool. I heard the debut patches will be a redemption and also topps will give you an option for it to be sent directly to PSA from topps to get graded.
Like the ideal of the Debut Patch and really love the White Glove option if you get lucky enough to pull one.
I think that it’s a great product it has a lot of potential. The retail I’ve seen is a very rough pull this year with no number cards out of 7 blasters I’ve seen so far
Nice product, I like that breakers delight is available to the public. The only big problem I see is the quality control, as you stated. As customer/collector we shouldn't be paying so much only to still be having print line issues. Used to be a Panini problem but seems like Topps is slacking now as well.

I like the Topps Chrome update, but I think they are stretching it a bit with fewer autos and less color. Would have liked to leave it as retail only just to give retail some love here and there. And for update it's a relatively nice chase especially this year. Although here in WA, we know trying to find retail in store is virtually impossible. Thanks RGL!
I like the change it makes it feel more like a stand alone product. I wish they didn't mess with the autos changing the number you get between jumbo and hobby. I can't afford this like most products but at least I get to see it opened on CZcams.

Just getting back into baseball collecting after a 20 year lull, but not sure I saw enough bang for the buck in these boxes. As you said, can't get your money back with just a few color cards and low end autos. The Moreno was nice though!
I like the change and love the rookie debuts within the product.
Seems improved over last years. I like the breakers delight as I prefer just the potential hits than all the base. Wish it wasn't sticker autos but the debut patch is a cool selling point. Price could be a little lower for breakers and jumbo but not the worst imo given how prices are with products in this market.
I like the breakers delight at the 279 price point on Topps, but its a sneaky way to sell more products w/o raised print runs but we get less color in other formats bc of it. So it's a win/ lose thing

I like the set overall RGL, but wish it wasn't the giant checklist...too many middle innings relievers for me to purchase
that moreno and langeliers look really good. From a retail standpoint , im not really a fan. its the same price as reg chrome, but theres no mvp buy back incentive and a weaker rookie class. Probably not going to rip much. The debut patches are a nice idea tho.
