it's not one person SAID kind things. One person TOOK him in, off the streets, LOVED him, FED him, EDUCATED him and actively ADVOCATED for him. ACTIONS NOT WORDS.

exactly. it def isn’t that one person said kind things to him. that’s super, super oversimplified.

Thank you for a positive foster care story. So many stories brand all foster parents as pedos, abusers, and "in it for the money". I needed this positive pick me up this morning. Thank you.

“was getting to go to the States the ultimate opportunity to begin living a life of hope?”
wow! LMAO couldn’t even be subtle w| the ethnocentrism//xenophobia? americans swear the u.s. is the “ultimate opportunity”+ the “land of hope” + that everyone wants to go to america. for a “better life,” for the “american dream” that, spoiler alert, doesn’t actually exist unless you’re a very specific demographic.
if it was so great we wouldn’t need so many people like Peter. our foster care system wouldn’t be so trash. + bursting at the seams. the police brutality, intracommunity violence due to broken systems + systemic oppression. but yea. ultimate opportunity to start living a life of hope.
i truly love hearing Peter’s story.
i truly wish someone else was doing the interviewing.

I’ve noticed that the Americans that have never traveled before seem to think that this is the only country with “opportunities” also they think that every other country is a Third World country. It’s quite surprising what they think of the outside world is. A coworker of mine was really surprised when I told her that there was Walmart and McDonald’s where I was from LOL what did she think my country looked like? Mud houses and dirt? So much ignorance.

Peter seems to be glad and thankful. No country is perfect, but America is a country that a lot of people want to come to build a better life. That life takes work, focus and prayer helps. The life you want isn't easy or automatic. If America is so wretched, why live here? Or make it a goal to make it better. You sound bitter and angry against a nation that is a good place to live. If we are so horrible try Cuba, Iran or Iraq. People who live in America and want to tear it down as 'not that great' need to get out more, research the nations. Stop being pigeonholed into your small political mindset. America is a great nation. Perfect? No, but still blessed.

@@barbarahayes4696 very well said . I'm not an American, but I have seen what is happening in the United States. Today, so many young Americans do not cherish the happiness they have at all. Instead, they continue to slander their own country and create problems without contributing to society. There are more and more troubles, I really feel sorry for american
