- Cody Williams is one of the most interesting prospects in the 2024 lottery. While a great player in his own right, he hasn’t been able to avoid the connection (and the comparisons) to his older brother, Jalen Williams, of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Now, Cody Williams is by no means a highly touted prospect because of his brother, he’s a phenomenal player, and a higher rated prospect than Jalen ever was coming out of high school. With exceptional efficiency and an NBA ready build and athletic profile, The range of opinions on Cody Williams range from major believers who believe he truly is a great player, could be better than his brother, and shot go top 3, to doubters who think his brother’s reputation has driven him much too high, and he should be borderline lottery at best. Where does he actually stand? Should he truly be a top 5 prospect? Or is it true that he’s gotten overhyped? Today, we are going to look at the pros of his game, the cons, and try to determine what kind of prospect Cody Williams truly is.
Welcome to the channel! Over my life, I have developed a passion for diving deep into the stats, history, and play styles of various basketball players and teams, and in my opinion no better way to get those ideas out there than through rankings, comparisons and tier lists.
I tend to discuss detailed breakdowns of individual players' strengths and weaknesses, their historical achievements, and their current performance on the court, to determine where they rank in the list in question.
The tier lists are carefully crafted to reflect the latest trends and developments in the league, and I always stay up to date with the latest news and analysis.

As a Spurs fan if Risacher isnt there at 4 (most likely), I would be pretty happy with Castle at 4 and Cody at 8
I’d be happy enough if blazers got him at 7, I’ve seen some mocks having him go to blazers at 14 but I doubt the thunder pass on him if he’s even available at 12
Blazers like him
He cool ...he got no dog tho
nice prediction
Welcome to the Utah Jazz C-Will
The Thunder could actually use a larger wing like him, if he falls to 12.
Is he a big wing though?
He's pretty much a true 3. He's thin (180 pounds), only 6'7" and idk how good the rebounding and rim protection are
I'm also not sure how big he actually gets. Like I'm pretty sure Buzelis will get up to 230 but Williams is always gonna be thin I think.
Kinda reminds me of Corey Brewer. If he can be a better shooter, he'll have to improve as a shooter to break that comparison
So who is better? Cody Williams or Matas Buzelis?
I prefer Buzelis as a prospect. Williams may have a better rookie year but I think long term Buzelis will be a better player
Good breakdown. Only thing that was weird is saying he's not elite at any one thing and then comparing him to one of the most elite defenders in the NBA.
I personally didnt see the #1 overall hype he had earlier in the year, but i think there's been an over-correction with many having him outside the top 10. Easily top 10 and I have him at 6 on my board right now.
That’s somewhat why I said it was difficult to make a one-for-one comparison. He isn’t McDaniels, he isn’t THAT good of a defender, but defense is one of his better traits and overall he resembles him in a lot of ways.
Hes gonna be a Blazer
Hoping for Holland at 7, Salaun at 14 but we shall see...
