- In today’s video I want to go back to the old fantasy battles that I used to cover on the channel and have some fun with this one.
Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one, had the potential to be the most powerful Jedi in existence, until his untimely demise at the hands of his former master, Obi-Wan Kenobi during Order 66, who chopped him up on Mustafar and left him to burn, only to become a fraction of the man we was destined to become.
George Lucas has claimed that Vader only became 80% as powerful as the Emperor after he got burned up, and for this reason, never was could properly beat him one on one. Now you might be wondering how Vader killed the Emperor then in ROTJ. The answer is because Palpatine’s focus and hatred on killing Luke completely tunneled him from seeing Vader’s betrayal, and once Vader grabbed him, his anger exemplified as he blacked out in a fit of Sith rage, shooting lightning all over the place as he threw palpatine over the railing.
Now, had Anakin not lost to obi-wan Kenobi, how powerful would he have become? He would have been the most powerful being in the galaxy, forever.
Star Killer, on the other hand, was the epitome of Luke Skywalker’s full potential had he been the one to learn from Vader. His ability to stop a star destroyer, his ability to send a shockwave outwards from his body and incinerate all those around him, were feats of the force that burnt Anakin could never do. In the game, he fights Vader and wins, it wasn’t an easy battle, but it definitely ended in his favour. So we know what would have happened had he found Vader, but this Video is about Anakin at his full potential fighting Star Killer. Had Anakin not lost to obi-wan, had he not burned up, he would have reached his true potential.
Anakin at his true potential, would have killed Star Killer, no doubt in my mind. However, we have never seen Anakin at his true potential, so we must then focus on Anakin just before he lost to obi-wan, fighting Star Killer. Had these two been pitted against one another on Mustafar or elsewhere, it would have been a terribly close battle. Now in the comics and the books, legends and canon, Anakin’s force abilities were really shown, however in the movies, we didn’t get to see them in all their glory. In legends material, the first time Anakin killed someone infrtont of obi-wan, was by combusting them into flames. This kind of power is next to that of a fully powered mage.
Anakin in revenge of the Sith against Star Killer would lose. Star Killer was just too powerful in the force. Now if it were a battle of lightsaber combat, then Anakin might have the upper hand, but I’d again, have to give it to star killer, he was too ferocious, too fast, and too powerful for Anakin at this point in his life. He had just turned to the dark side, and he didn’t get enough time to really hone his new fighting skills and powers. And yes, I say new fighting skills because Hayden Christensen in the bonus DVD of episode 3, even says that Anakin’s entire fighting style is different once he turns to the dark side. I hope one day we’ll get more elaboration on that, but until then, that’s all we have to go off of.
So, Vader vs Starkiller, Starkiller wins.
Anakin full potential vs starkiller, Anakin wins.
Anakin revenge fo the Sith vs Starkiller, Starkiller wins.
However, and this is a big however, Anakin in revenge of the Sith vs starkiller but protecting padme is a completely different story. See, when Anakin has emotions mixed into his fighting, he’s a very different fighter. He doesn’t use the light side or the dark side, rather, he just uses the force. In the novel against Dooku, as Dooku taunted him, he started hurling tables at the Count, throwing things and beams from across the room with the force. He was relentless and very powerful. The amount of energy that Anakin expels when something emotional is fuelling him or something is at stake yields a completely different person and force user.
Anakin Skywalker would win in certain specific scenarios, but even then, it would be tough, but I do believe he would win in the end, just maybe, not all in one piece depending on the situation.

@Itachi Is superior to you People who think Starkiller is op only go by how he's depicted in video games which is completely inaccurate. His true power level actually comes from the novels.
In The Force Unleashed novel Starkiller is a skilled lightsaber duelist who has knowledge on all 7 forms but not to a masters degree like Darth Vader. His force wall was also surpisingly weak having being broken frequently by other force users. Starkiller's victory over Vader is also very circumstantial.
During their first duel on Deathstar 1 Starkiller was only able to contend with Vader through 3 cirumstances. 1. His superior speed and agility 2. Force Lighting 3. His familarity with Vader's fighting style and tactics being his right hand man. Plus Vader wasn't at full power during the time of their duel since it takes place just before the events of A New Hope and Vader was at the peak of his dueling skills and power during The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi. Under normal circumstances Vader would crush Starkiller.
Also in the novel Starkiller never fought Sidious. He only threw a piece of debree at him while he was distracted shocking Kota with force lightning before sacrificing himself to let his friends escape.
All this evidence proves that Starkiller isn't the most powerful force user many make him out to be and it's not even close.

Legends Vader is roughly 80% of Sidious's force power but has also been stated to barely surpass Darth Maul in dueling abilities and once Maul started using jarkai against him after Vader cut his Saberstaff in half the prophets eventually turned the victory to Darth Maul so that really says a lot about how weak Legends Vader is.
In Canon Sidious stated that Vader's strength in the force grew exponentially to the point where his power had become unparalleled. Meaning Vader still had the potential to rival and even surpass Sidious in the force.
This is all made clear in the canon comic Darth Vader The Chosen One issue 1.
All of this is clear proof that Vader is more powerful than Starkiller overall.

Treat the two as different characters because they often are perceived as two separate beings. Even though they are the same person.

Star killer has probably reached his full potential when he defeated vader and become a sith anakin would have destroyed him in his full potential, yes he defeated his spirit but what if he fight the real thing? They should make a series taking Anakin to his highest potential via a “What if?” Storyline.

Starkiller was as strong as Darth Vader because anakin got his arms and legs chopped off and his body burned. Palpatine built the suit he wears to cause him pain and make it difficult for him to fight because he was mad he lost. That's why he could beat Darth Vader. Anakin was the strongest force user to ever exist. Had he been properly trained or even been trained as a grey jedi he would have killed starkiller easily.
Theory idea: Anakin was never chopped up and reaches his full potential. He still finds Starkiller as a boy and trains him as before. But now Starkiller’s power limit goes further with the training he’s received from Full Potential Anakin/Darth Vader.

It showed they were like the Sith vs the Jedi. And Rey will never be a Skywalker in my eyes. Even though the opinion is subjective, she buried Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber in sand which he hated. No Skywalker would ever do that.

I just realized darthvader trained starkiller in the same reverse grip style as Anoka given that probably was just a coincidence I still think it's kind of cool
I honestly love the "who would win" type of conversations. My dad, who is a very good man, used to affectinately laugh at how often I, as a kid, asked who would win a fight in every contestant combination I could think of. It didn't matter what I was comparing. I might be comparing ferocious animals, characters from a TV show or movie, etc. I have never grow out of wanting to make those hypothetical comparisons, even a tiny bit. Technically Starkiller never reached his full potential since he was so young. I don’t even think he was as old as Anakin was in Revenge of the Sith. Anakin was 22 when he became Vader and Starkiller was like 20 or something when he died facing the Emperor. Starkiller at his full potential vs Anakin at his full potential would be interesting af, but considering Anakin was the Chosen One, and due to the fact that he was created by the force, I’ll give it to him

Legends Luke is what Anakin would've become if he ever reached his full potential and if Obi Wan didn't cripple him. It also depends on which Starkiller we're talking about.
(edit) If it's Galen Marek (the original) against prime Anakin it wouldn't even be a fight mostly because even though he may have been Darth Vader's secret apprentice in reality he could never match the chosen one's full potential even if he reached his prime since Anakin would be powerful enough to pull the deathstar from orbit at this point. If it's Starkiller (the clone) against prime Anakin in a straight up lightsaber duel Anakin would slaughter Starkiller like he did to the younglings during order 66. In terms of force powers Anakin would annihilate Starkiller as easily as he killed the stormtroopers shown in the trailer. It would essentially be a one sided fight since the clone had such a hard time against Vader even in his crippled state.

He would still be using form 5, but much MUCH more brutally. And, we do kind if see that.
He also had to literally entirely change the way he used his Form V to compensate for the drwbacks the suit caused like not being able to lift his arms over his head

I would think seeing how he was holding Palpatine's lightning with his hands, something that Luke couldn't do, I imagine he is stronger than Anakin was in Revenge of the Sith. But we never saw Anakin at his absolute maximum so no telling how powerful he really could get. Jedi definitely held him back seeing how he trained for over a decade, while Luke trained for a short while and was able to somewhat hold his own with Vader. Jedi likely held him back out of fear, since he really does have more potential than Yoda and they never wanted to train Anakin in the first place. If they didn't hold him back, he'd probably be a living god.
Starkiller was 17 and defeated vader and had Palpatine on the ropes as a child who didn't reach his full potential anakin was 23 in revenge of the sith Starkiller at max potential would be a force to be reckoned with
I don't think they held him back as much as they didn't trust him. Anakin was training with Obi-Wan with no limitations so the only way he thought he was held back in was the rank of master which didn't make him weaker just didn't allow him to look at the old texts to find a way to save his wife.

I believe Starkiller (like Anakin) is easily capable of holding his own against the likes of Yoda and Mace Windu. I wouldn't say Starkiller can beat Yoda, I would just say he wouldn't go down without a tremendous fight.
I believe Anakin is the superior duelist, but Starkiller in his prime would be stronger than Anakin during ROTS unless of course Anakin got a rage boost. Anakin's potential is far greater though. At his full potential he is stronger than The Son and Daughter.
TLDR:
Full Potential Anakin > Prime Starkiller > ROTS Anakin

Even in ROTS Anakin was beginning to eclipse Palpatine's power, only reason he lost is overconfidence. Also, if you're saying star killer before death not at max potential even had a chance against yoda you're just plain wrong. It would not have been a "tremendous fight". It's written that starkiller feared yoda because he could feel that he was significantly more powerful than him.
Starkiller never reached his prime. He was about 17 years old and his potential was ovet the roof. Thats why Palpatine wanted to replace Vader with Galen, he believed Galen couldve reached a power level greater than Palpatine himself

Thanks, SWT! It is refreshing to see a perspective on how a battle between two Force powered juggernauts like Anakin and Star Killer could have multiple outcomes. They're strengths do depend on circumstances that could be altered canonically or in legend so it makes perfect sense one would beat the other depending on those circumstances. Your approach made this a much more enjoyable video than a lot out there which try to be objective but simply draw the line saying only one or the other would win regardless. Nice job!

That's only in Legends. Vader in canon even with his injuries still has the strength in the force to surpass Sidious but the only thing keeping him from reaching his full potential is his emotional conflict between family and power.

Its really about the format in which the character and story is carried, compare the clone wars to the movies, the feats are very different, characters in clone wars are much more agile than they are in the movies, and don't even get me started on the 2003 clone wars show, where everyone is super op and can solo armies, Yoda was doing all that stuff star killer is shown doing like pulling massive ships from out of the sky, if you place Starkiller in the movies his feats immedietely become way less grandiose which is why its silly to compare movie Anakin to video game Starkiller, instead we need to compare them in the same format, then it becomes more likely that Anakin could beat him without being fully powered.
Just remember that starkiller was only 17 when he defeated vader and died to sidious. Both of them would be scary at full potential.

Long answer: Anakin had more potential for power than Starkiller, it's just that the severity of his injuries cut off much of that potential. Starkiller wasn't any more powerful than Anakin, and there were many other Force-sensitives that were just as powerful as Galen, so I'm not entirely sure why he's singled out as being OP when there are plenty more examples of powerful Force users. Sidious himself easily surpassed Galen in power.
Look, I get it. It's a video game, and a lot of that seeming OP-ness comes from the wish-fulfillment fantasy that many games cater to. However, that doesn't mean Galen is OP in the grand scheme of things, there are still many more examples of Force users that are more powerful than Starkiller in the EU, and guess what? It didn't break the universe then, and it still doesn't now. Unlike _certain_ choices taken in the Disquels (we all know what I'm talking about). And at the very least, Starkiller earned much of his prowess through Vader's undoubtly rigorous training.

Look, I understand that you guys want your favorite character to be the most powerful, but Anakin has been said to be the most powerful had he never been injured, and it's been that way for a long time now. He was literally created by the Force itself! There's more to a character than being the strongest anyway, most of my favorites aren't the strongest.

I still don’t think Galen reached his pinnacle. As he was only 17 and him still having room to grow. He beat Vader squarely in 1 not in 2 as Vader lets him best him. If he is “dark side Luke.” He’d be able to temporarily hold his ground against Abeloth yeah not canon but Disney can go screw itself. I think Anakin,Luke, and Galen would be close to equal at their bests but plot would work it’s magic some time.

In Star Wars the clone wars with the son and the daughter, when he was asked to keep them in check basically, it shows he could bend both light and dark.

Well, technically, when The Force Unleashed 1 & 2 were made, it was made directly under the supervision of LucasArts and they were quoted as saying that at the very least the first game IS canon. They even go so far as to have Leia take Galen Merrick's family crest at the end of the first game and proclaim it to be the symbol for the Rebellion. I'm not sure if the second game is considered canonical or not, but the way it was written, with the conclusion being so widely open-ended at the very beginning of the Rebellion fighting back, it could be argued that it too was canon, and that perhaps Galen Merrick still out there somewhere even during the time of the horrific Disney sequels.

Sidious was one of the top 3 strongest Sith ever, and don't get me wrong, that is no small claim. However, we know how much stronger Anakin could've been, and that is, at least, Legends Luke. And since Legends Luke was declared the most powerful jedi by George himself, well, that ends the discussion.
But, to add more context, Vader was said to have 80% of Sidious's power, so, you know, it would be "normal" for him to be defeated by a Force user with the potential to harness 100% of Sidious's power.
And then, we have Sidious's own statement to master Yoda in Ep III, "Lord Vader will become more powerful than either of us", so, based on the percentages i explained earlier, and knowing that uninjured Anakin could have AT LEAST 101%+ of Sidious's power, then the contest is settled.

I never really considered the similarities between Maul's loss to Obi Wan and Anakin's loss to Obi Wan. He tried using obi wan's move against him.

The older games were pretty arcade where you could just pull off whatever you wanted to do and it’d look insane versus the new game looked super realistic and played like it too. It’s a lot like what happened to sports game where you play like a really good athlete would play in their respective sport but you can’t do anything you want to all the time

We see a clone of Galen (whom was arguably more powerful) struggle much more with a further along Vader, to the point where he has to rely upon Vader’s weakness to lightning in order to finish the intense battle

One thing I’ll say about this is power scaling.
The force unleashed games were a different representation of what one could do with the force. If we take it at face value then Starkiller is the strongest force user in the universe.
While he is definitely strong, I wouldn’t say hes as strong as an anomaly in the force like Anakin. I wouldn’t put his powers above yoda or the emperor either.
The feats he pulls off in the games make everyone in the movies (the true canon) look like inept children even yoda and Palpatine. If I had to rank him and power scale him to what the force can do in the movies versus a video game I’d say he’s somewhere on par with Mace Windu
Uhm no the strongest would still be Anakin. When tapping into some of his potential he made both the Son and Daughter into his bitches and a single one of these beings would make the whole jedi or with order combined look like insects. They are embodiments of the force and therefore they could just use the jedi or sith as a battery not that they'd need to

Lich-Chan Mortis is a glimpse of Anakin at his true Force potential and he was knockin around the embodiments of the Force in their most pure forms with no trouble. That’s def a feat you can give to him considering it gives us an inkling of how powerful his raw force powers would have been if not for his severe injuries. Anakin's dark side fighting style, had he not lost his limbs limbs and burned, would have been rage and chaos. Yes it could be overwhelming like a tornado or a hurricane but then again it would depend on where you were standing when the tornado or hurricane arrives. Anakin would have gotten by using overwhelming brute force until he came up against someone who was strong in the Force, strong in Lightsaber fighting, and fighting smart (hmm, kind of like Obi Wan did at Mustafar). Just remember, a "diminished" Vader trained Starkiller.
Got to lean towards Starkiller for the sole reason that the game was literally called “The Force Unleashed” because of what they wanted the character of Starkiller to be. They made Starkiller for the sole purpose of saying “okay what if we made this character who was just insanely powerful in the force and how they would go about using it for the purpose of good/evil.” I still think they have the perfect chance to make Starkiller in canon as an inquisitor and keep his personality intact, but obviously tone down his abilities to be in line with the story

I think you make a great point about the fact that the movies (IRONICally) don't necessarily show how powerful force users are whereas in books/games/CW 2003 we can get an idea of how fast and powerful Jedi can be

I think the Force is alive, and has a plan for the Star Wars universe. About once a generation, the Force makes an extremely powerful Force user in order for them serve a role in some mystical grand plan. Then they are discarded once they have served their purpose. Revan, Yoda, Anakin, Luke, Starkiller, etc. All examples of this. Starkiller is just another super powerful force user in a long line of super powerful force users. To me, there is no such thing as "full potential" Anakin. The Force would never allow it, and that's not the story the Force wrote for Anakin. He was always meant to be a crippled Vader.

@@preacher8417 - I believe... if there are any unexpected changes in the Force's plan (like Luke exiling himself to a hidden island for 20 years), then the Force *will* auto-correct the universe. The Force shall manipulate events, change things around, and even create another super powerful Force user to make up for the unexpected changes. That's why it created Rey. Luke was supposed to do more, but Luke rebelled against the will of the Force. Rey was created by the Force to fill in the gap Luke created, and get the Force's "mysterious plan" back on track.
If Anakin *somehow* avoided getting crippled on Mustafar, then the Force would just keep trying to manipulate events to push Anakin into becoming a crippled Darth Vader. The Force would make Anakin's life so "violently chaotic" in order to cripple Anakin. Like... Maybe one day Anakin's ship "mysteriously crashes", and explodes into flames. Maybe an unexpected assassin explodes a bomb and burns Anakin. The Force would make sure Anakin would never know enough peace to ever train, and reach his "full potential". The only way Anakin could survive without getting crippled would be exiling himself on some island (like Luke did), cutting himself off from the Force, and avoiding all contact with the outside world.
If that happens, then the Force would just create another super powerful force user, and use them as a pawn for its plan for the Star Wars universe. And the cycle repeats.
