Lyrics:
So let's leave some blue up above us
Let's leave some green on the ground
It's only ours to borrow, let's save some for tomorrow
Leave it and pass it on down
#Alabama #PassItOnDown #OfficialVideo - Hudba
That's a big Amen. We need to take notice what we are doing to the earth
COUNTRY ALABAMA PASS IT ON DOWN MUSIC 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😀😀😀👍👍👍
So Relevant Today. 👍
Yes THIS IS ONE OF THR GREATEST SONGS EVER MADE AND EVER WILL BE
Does anyone else get the chills from this song with how true it is?😮
❤. Rest In Peace 🕊️🕊️. Jeff Cook ❤
The children in the chorus give this song a " multi- generational " impact. That's probably my favorite part.
This is one of my favorite songs. Hands down! Amazing message
Real country music
Amen! Let's leave something worthwhile for our children and grandchildren! Love this song!
RIP Jeff Cook
My most favorite song by Alabama
Rest in peace Jeff Cook
Even if you don't like country music,I suggest listening to this song. Just got to love mother nature!
I heard a quote, I forget who said it, but this song reminded me of it.
"We don't inherit the earth from our parents, we borrow it from our children."
This is so true. We are so busy running from here to there. We are not taking care of the earth we live on. Best strat thinking what we will be keavufor or children and grandchildren
Pure truth since the day it was released.
My favorite song of there's all time
This song needs to make a comeback asap.
AMEN... Truer today more than. All you need to do is get up in an airplane and look down at the earth.
@@stephenbost542 - I disagree. The hole in the ozone has been disproven, and so has acid rain. That's why the media never talks about this stuff anymore.
Bullshit
@@candyman5749 Acid rain is no longer talked about like it was in the 70's and the 80's because now there are regulations in place for cleaner air. For example, in 1996 leaded gasoline was banned. Various additions to the clean air act have reduced emissions allowed by factories, vehicles, and other industries, as well as what chemicals can and can't be used. Acid rain and the ozone hole weren't lies, it's just been greatly reduced thanks to environmental regulations put into place ( hopefully in part as a result of this song ) . We also don't hear about smog anymore for this reason.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_Air_Act_(United_States)
And just Exactly how is this song suppose to make a comeback?
This is the only song I know with this message...I am a gigantic supporter of protecting the Earth. We only have one life to live, and we really need to make the best of it we can. What people are doing to this precious planet is beyond ridiculous, and a change needs to happen. And I won't stop complaining about this until it does.
The most exciting and right song.❤️
Great song hearing the children sang on chorus as well
Recently visited the state of Alabama, like the people, like the country side, love the mountains, and this song tells us to think, think, think.
I remember when this song came out! A lot of people were trying and this song was huge!! I still remind people to recycle! Thanks to all the people like this group who worked hard!!
Love this song. First heard it around 1990 when I lived in New York City xxx

Obviously an important song but the great Alabama country harmonies, just incredible.
This song was way ahead of it’s time. I wonder how many people were paying attention.
no, people have been aware of the situation for years.
Watched Alabama play this live 2 nights ago and they still got it. It was badass.
The world of music could not live without ALABAMA!
One of their underrated songs
So True. Needs to played during this pandemic.
Lol k, Karen!

So relatable in current scenario, we turned deaf ears to these warnings 😔😔😔
WE NEED THIS TO BE ON EVERY TV AND MUSIC SHOW BECAUSE WE ARE IN NEED OF EDUCATION.
This is when you know the world is screwed!!...That view count should read 6.8 mills on this song!!...Save it and pass it on down!!
Not the biggest hit for Alabama by far, but perhaps their most meaningful!

This is needed right now. Supposedly in 40 years we’ve depleted marine life 50%
April 4, 1990: Alabama's "Pass It On Down" music video premieres on TNN and CMT.
May 25, 1990: RCA Records released Alabama's "Pass It On Down" album, the album produced five singles: the title track, "Jukebox In My Mind", "Forever As Far As I'll Go", "Down Home", and "Here We Are".
👍
I loved this song growing up and still do. Matter of fact, pretty much all of Alabama's songs. They don't make em like this anymore. God bless from Chilton Co Alabama!
One of Alabama's many underrated songs.
Agree with ya both!!!
Joshua Brooks Amen to that!😎
Your community: You can't leave it, so you better love it. At least I am willing to pick up any litter laying around and recycling whatever's recyclable. I agree that those are two very good ways to make the earth a better place. And I am quite sure that fire safety is a great service for communities, too. I am very glad to be helpful in those ways.
Yes 👍
And we're still doing it all these years later after this song!
"Down in Brazil, the fires are burning still". And they still are in 2019!
Love this song!!! So very true, people destroying this beautiful earth!!
Their best song
Greatest country band Ever!!!!
Me to I was 13
I hear this song in the casino that I work at!! Love it! The kids in the background just sound so good
25 or so years now...i wonder how many of these kids are still around
All of the kids in this video are around 40 now ....i do wonder what they think of the state of the world.
I was 14 when this came out, and a huge Alabama fan. Looking back, it was a pretty bold move for a country band. This, along with some very different songs, such as "Countdown to Extinction" by Megadeth in 1992, had a big impact on me growing up.
Alabama has always been one of my very favorite Country Music band!! And they’ll always be my very favorite group!! I love them!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Mine too! I saw them when I was a teenager, they were great!!!!!

This is a great song, I always liked Alabama and I still like this band, just because they had a great mix of country and rock music in their sound. out of all their songs I like Pass it on down and mountain music.

I love it and it's true
just heard this song today for the first time. I listen to country radio every day!!! who is choosing the songs that play on the radio? THIS SONG SHOULD BE PLAYED ON THE RADIO EVERY DAY!!!
Dan Vize true they should play it. And Trump should listen to it because he does not believe in global warming
Corporate morons who have destroyed COUNTRY MUSIC and RADIO since 1990! CLUELESS IDIOTS WHO RUN EVERYTHING - SEE MARVEL STUDIOS
Yes, this and Simple Man by Charlie Daniels.
Agreed, yes it should. I think that its the record labels that are deciding for the artists what songs are going to be radio hits, and witch songs aren't.
Well said!
Good song and a good message, Alabama continues to surprise me.
Came across this AWESOME band the other day. Been listening to them since. Great band all round.
It's 2020 still one of the best songs ever recorded. I got this cranked up today.

Happy Earth Day 2024.....from 1990s Alabama.
It’s to late we are fucked extinction is underway because of our ignorance
Refreshing to hear an environmentally conscious song from 1990, from a band of masculine country men no less. Makes me respect and like their music even more
No doubt. Alabama has been an inspiration to say the least. These guys really have a way of wording things from the heart. I have a few myself. Love ta get there one day..

Awsome song another true song from the bama boys
Country side music just made for me
Awesome video. Great song. This has always been in my top 10 all time alabama favorites. Songs about preserving what we can so we can always have what we need should be more in number and made to be more prominent.
alabama made this in 1990.... 28 years later people still not listening......
Amazing isn't it?
Because all country music is rascist apparently
Because people dont care there selfish ..greedy .. Idiotic with no common sense people think they can own what ever money can give them money don't mean anything life is more. Than all the gold silver and cash in the world ...we need to protect this planet outher wise we perish along with mother earth
People need to care other wise earth is doom I will not let it happen
I grew up with this beautiful song I love it
Amen 💯🙏❤️
God said be fruitful and multiply...The problem is Sin...Alabama has it right...we are to tend this garden ..Let's tend it well and pass it on down until God says everyone out of the pool...
I get the feeling that Jesus covers His eyes in shame at what we’ve done to this beautiful world His Father created.
love this song... we all should live yhis way
I remember this song it's about the environment
I really remember this song like it was yesterday in 90
well said for Earth day and always. Happy Earth day
Forth of July 2022.. who's with me? Let's get it!!!
So true we are bringing the earth to it's knees. We are wasteful and ignorant. it's not just global warming it's us
Alabama is the greatest band ever
For country? I agree. Ever ?not so much.
I agree with ya Rick Foy
Still ain’t getting any better either
This song is a great example of how turning everything into a political attack actually causes people to be LESS open to listening, not more. In 1992, you could have a hit country song about the environment. It was an “everybody” issue. Then the fingers started getting pointed, it became a matter of identity, and now look where that got you. People seemingly never learn: be nice to each other.
