No. The ash messes with the instruments and is actually a safety hazard. Of course, when you have a pilot who falls asleep regularly that may be the least of your worries.

I mean it depends on the weight and power of Pat's plane, Michael Cole said it's a Hawker so I think they wouldn't even need another pilot if AJ gets rated to fly the Hawker.
2 pilots are required if the plane is being operated for compensation or hire, but if it's just AJ and the boys heading to Florida for the weekend they don't *need* a second pilot.
I'm actually on the same exact boat as AJ, started my private training, have 40+ hours, I've done 2 solo flights, and decided it just wasn't for me shortly before my solo cross country.

It's okay guys. AJ can fly anytime before 5pm. Golden Hour blinds most other drivers but AJ loves it as it puts him to sleep.
