5.7's are fun and enough power for a lot of people.
Facts
Went shopping for a 2015 Scatpack and came home with a 6 speed 2013 R/T with 40K miles in excellent condition for a 1/4 of the cost. Already added brembos and have headers, 270 comp cam, and a nitrous kit ready to go in this thing.
if you wanna mod / have a cheap V8 - buy the 5.7
if you want more power without modding - buy a scatpack
if you have money - power a hellcat/demon/redeye
I currently own a 2012 dodge charger RT. Like your said, your always going to want more and that’s how dodge gets you. You have an RT but you feel like you wanna upgrade to an srt8, scat pack or hellcat. The other alternative is also mods but that takes time and knowledge on what it takes to build your car. If you have the money, you can just pay someone to do it for you. It all depends on the owners budget and what they wanna do. I feel like the 5.7 is for the guys who love the v8 but also lowkey wanna be mechanics and learn about the car they own. 6.4 are just for those with bragging rights since you already have of what the hemi is capable of stock.
Thank you for making it HDR, awesome!
Wouldn't give up my Octane red '1320' for anything. Have the 5.7 in my Ram Rumblebee. Love them both for what they are
I agree 100%.
The 5.7 L is the best all-round car.
Scat Pack widebody is a better driving car than any 5.7 liter. 5,7 is better for mods but the scat pack widebody is less produced and more will hold its value better.
No the fuck they won’t there are way too many of them out there to really be that special and it’s going to take about 20 plus years before you start to see any value increase only hellcat models and up will have a chance of seeing a return in a reasonable time frame
I think you buy what you like and what you can afford.
I Would only buy a 5.7 if I was in to modding. A 6.4 Is as low as I would go down on the totem Pole. For about the same money as a 5,7. You can buy a Mustang GT or a 2SS Camaro. My wife has a 2SS Camaro Convertible, That's a really nice And fast car. My brother-in-law has a Mustang GT. I drove that and it's a lot of fun. I had a 2018 challenger T. A 392. I had it for 5 years that car was a blast. I drove the same car as an R. T just didn't have enough power "for me". I now have a hellcat It is The fastest most fun car I ever owned. But my 2 cents worth is by what you can easily afford Don't buy it to show off or one up somebody. Whatever you get, make it Your own.
I had a 2018 RT Charger from CarMax for $35K. Had bank loan set backs and my close friend who is a teacher; got a 2019 Scat Charger on his own and threw me the keys 2 months later and told me make the payments. 1 year and 2 months later, I'm in love with this but I cant truly make power mods. I'm grateful my friend did that for me and limited his buying power but then again I clicked on you're video. Oh and I'm one of them boys now
Good tidbit. I had a 2016 Ford Mustang GT that I've owned for 6 months, and, tragically, caught fire and was totalled. Looking at used muscle cars in the same dealership I got my Mustang from, and they have a '18 Challenger R/T Plus for 33 grand, 41k miles. I'm interested, but wasn't sure on pulling the trigger due to that horsepower (390 vs my Mustang's 435) and the mechanics of the 5.7 (16 spark plugs vs the usual 8) - I'm a DIY junkie and I have done all the maintenance and modification work on my Mustang by myself
Your video has helped in my consideration process, and I am fairly close to deciding to join the Dodge Brotherhood.
For you, a scat pack is gonna be a better call. It's closer to the Mustang power. And they are awesome to drive.
@@michaelbuteau4183 Hey, time flies by way too fast. I already got myself another Mustang GT Premium. Decided to wait things out until I found another Mustang, instead of hastily moving to a Dodge or a Chevy.
I have a 5.7 ex cop car with some mild mods and a 74 chev C10 truck with a 5.3 LS that has a 'few more' mods but weighs 1,000 lbs less than the cop car... with either one... driving wet streets? EASY to get in trouble LOL One difference is that the cop car feels more 'civilized' in that it is easier to drive normally.. The truck is a beast with drive by cable it takes a light foot. My girlfriend drives the cop car and thinks it is 'nice' she has never spun the tires even.... it can be driven like that. I drove my 69 el camino with 470 big block and 6 speed manual for 10 years and made it 'driveable' meaning it could be driven by my girlfriend or dad and they never once spun the tires.. It also would get 19 or so MPG on a trip... It would run 12.6 in the quarter. The cop car reminds me of it even tho it is a good second slower. Point being.... it is easy to make a Charger that is 'fast' and reliable and easy to drive that both people who do not like to drive 'aggressively' and those who do can enjoy. That is my take from half a century of hot rodding.
R/T gang🤘🏼
@BLACK BULL to each its own🤷🏽♂️💯
Can a 6.4 intake manifold fit with a R/T shaker or no cuz of the shaker hood
No
I love your bodywrap. Where can I buy?
Atlantic Wraps In North Carolina
matte black front hard af
Appreciate it
Been thinking about a RT or a scat for my next purchase. Plan to mostly daily drive unless heavy snow (got my 2001 buick century beater for that). Just not sure i need a scat, RT looks like it would be plenty fun and id save a buck.
RT cool. it ain hyped like people make em seem like
bur scats is what i want n im cool
I went shopping last weekend for a "Last Call" Challenger, since I wanted one before they're gone. Intended to buy a Hemi, plenty of power and fun for a daily, and only $49.5k. Just before deciding, the salesman asked if I wanted to drive a Scat Pack. He had a real base model with cloth seats for $51.5k. After tasting that 6.4, needless to say I spent the $2k more and came home with the Scat. No regrets.
@@conanlive3784 I don't doubt I'd want one too. But I'm thinking I'll just boost the 5.7 after warranty is up. Sounds more fun
Jesus, thats a dope look , how much did it cost to paint the car like that ? and which edition is this ? what 1320 ? we know know 392cc= 6.4litre , whats 1320 ?
1320 is the package of the car is a drag car
Find yourself a scat pack widebody manuel.
Are you gon get the Hurricane bro?
Nah I doubt it honestly
Buy a 5.7 if you want to get gapped by 20+ year old Mustangs…
My 2006 charger is way stronger then the 5.7. My interior is way better. My Mercedes transmission turned. My cam and lifters are fine ha ha good luck
Get what you can comfortably afford, 70% of “scatpackboys” needed their mommy to co-sign and their babymommas to add them on the insurance……..
Get a 6.1
Good luck with 5.7 I’ve got the 6.1 way stronger
Lol couple bolt-on on both 6.1 and 5.7 even fbo the 5.7 gone win well the ones with the 8speed
I’ve got a 09 Challenger with a 6.1 with a Kennebell
I just hate the interior of the the pre 2015 chargers and challengers
Nope. Have a 6.4 and 5.7. 64 is plenty reliable and gets just as good a few economy.
