This song really hit me because not only was I the one who used and abused those close to me because of my addiction and at the time did not care about anything but me. Then I was used and abused by someone close to me and I knew exactly how terrible they must of felt. I lost my life and myself everything because of addiction and when someone is battling addiction and mental illnesses itâs THE toughest battle ever. So anyone reading this, be patient with yourself or your friends and family. It wasnât until I almost lost my life that my life turned around, had to learn how to walk, spent 6 months in the hospital to see there is so much more to life. Completely off topic I guess but this song really spoke to me. Thank you.

I was with my ex for 7 to 8 years. We had a son together. He introduced drugs into my life and I am now sober and have been for 3 years this October. He tried getting clean to keep me and relapsed when I left him. He was my best friend who showed me that drugs were more important than me while proclaiming his love in words alone. I kept trying to get him back to who I thought he was. Obviously, I said enough was enough and put myself first after our entire relationship of taking care of him. I'm now married and a full-time college student. I'm happy I left.

First heard this in Jan. of 2021 - I was in a really bad place. See - this song, it reflects PTS perfectly. We search for ANY way to smother the blinding hurt and anger of what happened... I am a veteran (where my PTS originally started), then I was hit by a drunk driver going over 100mph on Dec. 9th of 2019... At this point both my body and mind were broken. It took a year of SOLID therapy, multiple surgeries.... And I can proudly say that I am in a good place after what seems like forever ago. I can only say to those in pain over the past - get help... PLEASE - you are WORTHY of a good life.

I know what it's like to do this over and over, and then OVER AND OVER AGAIN! Its got such an amazing vintage rock feel. I could see them holding their own with bands like Seether, Saliva, and Crossfade back in the day.
As someone who waited for years for a family member to change their ways and they never did. This cuts real deep.
VOTS are extremely underrated, hands down.
Alcoholism and Addiction take the sufferer and their loved 1s to dark places for sure.
Hopefully you didn't abandon them and leave them to suffer like I have witnessed in my life with family members. My mom is a severe alcoholic who has been through rehab many times and just can't quit it. I know it will kill her someday. But I am still there for her, I spend time with her, I talk to her, and I am the only one out of 5 of her children that still will. The absolute WORST thing you can do with someone in that position is to stop caring, to stop seeing them, to stop spending time with them. People that can do something like that to someone they love make me sick to the stomach.
@@threevisionsgodpark i disagree. sometimes there comes a point where you cant afford to. If they arent willing to help themselves then im not gonna put in the effort. Ive dealt with it my whole life. Some peoples will is weak and thats okay. except its also not
@@threevisionsgodpark it's got to be hard to do that, emotionally. A lot of people wouldn't be able to, I guess like you're other family members you spoke of. I wouldn't be able to abandon a family member either, no matter what. It's great that at least she has you, as you are probably her one reason to want to try to get better. If you did the same as your siblings, she wouldn't have any hope left you are doing a wonderful thing.
I am an alcoholic and went to rehab when I was about 24. I'm 48 now and don't even have any interest in drinking anymore. For most people it's not that easy, they struggle everyday with it for the rest of their lives. And for awhile I did. I didn't hurt anyone too badly, I just lost my job, and drank everyday from the time I woke up till the time I passed out. I was lucky, could have had it a lot worse... don't know how I never got a DUI or never killed myself or someone else with all the drunk driving I did.

Lot of emotions in this song. Hits close to home. Three weeks ago a good friend of mine passed away. He didnât want to get out of old unhealthy habits. Song says stuck in your ways! :( Sadly no drive or zest for life. This friend of mine just actually slowly killed himself ! I tried giving advice and helped this friend but wouldnât listen. Amazing song though đ”!

I feel this heavily as I recently had to kick out my boyfriend of 4 years. I work overtime and go to school. I cooked everything. I cleaned. I paid more even though I made less.
I was the only one who even went grocery shopping and did all the accounting. He can be sweet and is talented. I hated being used by narcissist. I hope therapy will help him, but I canât keep trying to change what I canât. So I walked away.

It makes me so sad because I'm pregnant with our son that he said he wanted but hes in such a dark place mentally that even that hasnt changed anything. She uses our daughter like a weapon. Alienating me from her all the time. It's been 4 and half years and things still haven't changed in that perspective.... As a father the court system barley cares. I haven't seen or spoke to my daughter in 3 months... I missed Halloween, My Birthday, Thanksgiving and now coming up Christmas with her yet again and I couldn't be anymore devastated. I don't even know if she's ok or how she's doing...
