Visited my friend Johnny at @Audamus. He has this cool Lionel Break-Down B-Unit which can simulate an engine failure. No trains were harmed in the making of this video… Very cool!
As a locomotive mechanic I can’t help but dump water on this fire. No oil pressure trips the governor button to shut it down. Most EMD fires are exhaust deck fires up by the exhaust stacks. Run eight keeps it going out of the car body. It will go out when it runs out sludge to burn. Load boxing is one of my favorite things to do because of the inevitable fire and smoke. SW locomotives are the best for a firework show.
Was this a electronic failure in the model or is this a feature like those simulated hot boxes on the box cars Lionel recently advertised? Honestly, if this isn’t a feature, but rather a bug, I could see this becoming an inspiration to actually make a product like this like they did with the box cars with the hot boxes.
*runs around in a circle repeatedly* My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! My Train is On Fire!!! *SPLASH!*
Lionel needs to put that function into a dummy NS unit to mimic the one that rolled through the Pittsburgh area on fire.
Or a BNSF locomotive😂
@@jamesedwards9857I'd rather not have that. Cory Mears
So this us just a function of the b unit, right? Nothing is actually broken on it?
@@moltenfoxygaming6987correct
Then they’d need that on every NS loco…
If Lionel ever did British Rail diesels from the 60-70s. This feature would have to be mandatory.
lol
Brit here, can confirm.
Very creative short you made here!! 3 thumbs up!!

That train is so hot right now.
That is so damn cool that they added that in as a feature
That’s super cool I have never seen anything like it
This is a legit product that is meant to do that? … Awesome!
That’s pretty cool! But of course you East coast railroaders would have to make the mishap happen to a west coast train. LOL
Well, at least it's not an A-unit with the streamlined front. That would be a shame. Cory Mears
A FINE LINE BETWEEN A HOBBY
AND A MENTAL ILLNESS 🤔😂🤣
That is really cool. I’ve been looking at high output Sleuthe smoke units, and this would be an ideal use case.
🎶this train is on fire...🎶
Naw, it's just the steam generator warming up. 👍
Ha ha, I have the NYC B UNIT.

Cool! That’s a lot of smoke!
Wow, that's a cool detail.
Is that a smoke unit in that B unit or did it really catch on fire chris?
You can here that sizzle...😮🔥
Great idea👍👍👍
