An interesting fact and some tips for everyone:
Teflon doesn't do the sealing, it's job is actually be a lubricant so the threads can go in completely and seal properly tight up against the taper.
For inexpensive complete engine rebuild kits, If I don't use OEM, I use JIS or Evergreen kits. They come with rings, bearings and everything. The evergreen kit even came with VTEC solenoid gaskets to rebuild it. They used to be VERY complete kits.... and haven't failed me yet.
For the LS-VTEC plug; fill the gaps on the tap with grease. it will catch all of the chips in the grease while tapping the hole ;)
A good trick for doing valves: Find a set of "go/nogo" feeler gauges. They have a second size built in to the single feeler that you can feel the ramp of and know how close they are.
For doing cylinder one, set Cylinder #1 at TDC, and you can adjust the valves on both intake and exhaust. Leave the motor at TDC, and adjust only the #2 intake, and #3 Exhaust valves (they are in the correct position). Now notice how you just adjusted half the valves,
So now you turn the engine so that #4 is at TDC (two turns). Adjust intake and exhaust on #4, and only intake on #3, and Exhaust on #2. Now all the valves are done without putting the engine at TDC each time.
Hondata be pissing off a lot of people now; Can't tune your ecu/connect without an internet connection... so just a big heads up on that recent change of theirs. I still have lots of gripes with them because they stole our rom code, and sued us all because we were competitors. Only think i'd recommend is kpro; just because they have that part of the market pretty much cornered.... but HTS is on with all the canbus stuff (08+ for the most part); more rom definitions every day, and even a few custom changes as well.
Keep up the good work dude. -JK

The notch in the water pump housing is an indicator for when your water pump is failing. What happens is when it starts going bad, a slow drizzle or drip will follow the path in the housing and a very slow drop comes out of that notch. Dont full it with rtv. Its supposed to be there. I think it says that in the manuals. But yeah, it has a purpose. Like all your vids tho. Great work bro.

Yeah static Hog it out. I get those three layer head gaskets and separate each layer so that I have three individual layers and then I throw away the center lane because it's worthles. There is a hole and each Pam that you can stick a like a little 8 inch rod down to the hole in it locks the cams and top dead center position so that they don't move so that when you put the timing belt on and use your screwdriver against your tensioner Not a lot of people know that those holes are there to hold the cams and top dead center position

Is it worth rebuilding the h22 to go h2b or best to stick with the h23A(blue top) from one of the jdm motor import distributor? I know i will need to get a h2b kit as well. Which one are you using on ur rex?

Please for others that have rev to the moon leave your comments out of it. I understand with arp rod bolts installed u could safely Rev to 8k+ but I'm looking for longevity and daily not Rev to 8500 all day long it will give.
7500-7800 with arp rod bolt is the most ill go since it won't make power pass that

This is a sign. I just picked up a GSR long block with a broken rear bracket mount so I was debating on fixing the crack or just do LS vtec..... this means I’m doing LS Vtec!

Awesome idea. I was thinkin of it too. Just keep the redline at 7.000 unless you are trying to build the block since it has a longer stroke
I imagine setting lift at 4800 to 5000 will be optimal since the longer stroke can benefit from more air
