    Brilliant and thorough review!!
    Just discovered your channel and immediately subbed.
    Good to see these types of product reviews aimed more at the home retailer rather than professionals, although as you’ve rightly pointed out, some products aren’t as cost effective as some others (like the pre-wash).

      Gone through some of your other reviews, especially the Karcher pressure washer ones.
      I’ve got an ‘old’ K5 (2012) which is still serving me well, but it’s good to see how the newer ones perform especially from professional detailers like yourself. I fully agreee on the standard hoses!! They’re TERRIBLE!! 🤦🏾‍♂️. Karcher really need to stop using those plastic crappy things and use better quality rubber ones as you’ve suggested.

    As others have said I don’t think you’ll find any professional detailers using these products as they don’t exactly scream “street cred” with a Halfords logo on but it’s a shame really because having used them a few times now they really are great value for money and do exactly as they say they do on the bottle, the ceramic foam sealant is a personal fave. Excellent informative video mate 👍

    Looks a great little range for the weekend warrior who's a bit more into it than just a clean car, but not so far down the rabbit hole that they're studying MSDS sheets or waving make-up pads about...

    A very well balanced impartial view of these products. My own thoughts are that possibly Halfords have seen how many Autoglym products are bought and have realised that this is worth spending some money on. Attracting more customers that want to clean their own cars and possibly don't have (your kind of) knowledge regarding brands/products. Make it simple and convenient for the majority of people, then more people will try/buy them and be able to get them very easily, all the while doing a great job.

    Halfords own products might not seem"Sexy" to detailers but on that showing they did a good enough job. I wonder what AutoBrite are thinking about that Spray on Ceramic Sealant with their own Magiseal offering that Halfords sell. Although I didn't find Magiseal had a great longevity but it's been a while since I've used it so may be wrong in that. I rather like spray on rinse of products in the winter and have used Autoglym Polar Seal via a spray bottle (crazy value), whilst not the most hydrophobic it certainly does a good job. Why do you rinse bottom to top? Thanks for vid BTW, really informative

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails  Před měsícem

      Short answer - once the foam has dwelled I always rinse the ‘sunny side’ bottom to top as the flow from the pressure washer is removing the grime, gentle flowing water from the top won’t remove grime , you ‘can’ still achieve this from the top if you’re really careful but the most important reason is while I’m rinsing the foam all around the car still has time to dwell and be effective for those precious few minutes, plus it is a guide to see where I’ve been, it’s a very divided technique , it’s what I’ve done for years and works for me

    They don't seem to be bad products and well priced. However, I can't help but wonder if they actually are other products repackaged. There was a bit of a furor around Autobrite pulling their products from Halfords and i wonder if this was a factor

      I can confirm it is absolutely NOT Autobrite Direct Rebottled, I have an idea who makes it as I saw a link from pre release MSDS info that linked the chemical to the manufacturer which isn’t there now it’s been released 😅
      As I said in the video the wheel cleaner is every bit as good as Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel, and the sealant too!, almost identical, I’m not saying BH makes them but they have been made to rival the best in the business, except the snowfoam it’s nowhere near as good as touch less 😅
      I don’t want to be receiving any legal letters but you can easily work out who makes it by starting at the beginning of the alphabet and adding “chem” to it 🤔
      But definetly put aside the thoughts it’s all AD, unless said company make AD products 😳

    • @SparkleanAutos
      @SparkleanAutos Před 7 měsíci +3

      I can confirm these are definitely NOT Autobrite Direct products - having used both extensively over the past few months, there are no similarities between the products - in fact I don't even think AD make a reactive wheel cleaner! The foam is nothing like Magifoam and the shampoo, whilst actually very good, doesn't remind me of any AD shampoos that I've used! 👍🏼

    • @Richard_Details
      @Richard_Details Před 7 měsíci +1

      I know they aren't AD products as I use them myself. It's just strange that this range came out and all of a sudden they pulled out from Halfords. As Graeme said, they are most probably from that company he mentioned but the snow foam is definitely close to the Autoglym version

    • @SparkleanAutos
      @SparkleanAutos Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@Richard_Details or maybe Halfords cut ties with AD as they didn't want a direct rival to their own products beside them on a shelf 🤔🤔🤣
      Who knows lol - the foam was my biggest disappointment from the range - nice to use and good consistency but did absolutely nothing in terms of cleaning, Halfords playing it too safe with the request from the unnamed manufacturer I think!!

    • @cerealkiller4248
      @cerealkiller4248 Před 2 měsíci

      Well, I managed to clean my motor last Friday, and tested the ceramic spray. First I used Halfords Reactive Wheel Cleaner, 3 wheels came up lovely, but the 4th was a pain. ( I later realised why. After a recent MOT, the brakes were picked up on, so in it went for new brakes. 2/3 days later it was grinding. Turns out, even though they said replace brakes ASAP on advisories, when it went in they didn’t……………. As I had to use it for 2 weeks before I could get it done, it deposited lots of crap onto the barrel 🤬🤬🤬 ) Bilt Hamber Auto Foam snow foam, was followed by Meguiars Gold shampoo prepped it, then time for the Halfords Ceramic Spray.
      I put in 60ml to 600ml of water, made sure vehicle was wet then coated it. It beaded nicely on spraying on, then I washed it off. It beaded ok, but wasn’t amazing, I dried it then stood back. As I did I realised my drying towel was soaking, the wettest it had ever been. I wondered did it need curing time, so since then I have kept an eye on the car as it has rained, no difference. Tonight I looked again, lots of small beads, but no sheeeting.
      So, looking back, the only thing I could think of I may have done wrong was, I used my MJJC short trigger gun to blast it off instead of my K4 turbo lance………….. I will try it again, but not too impressed by first application, which is a shame, as the wheel cleaner was awesome and I was hoping for a similar performance from the ceramic spray.

      @GMDetails  Před 2 měsíci

      @cerealkiller4248 ah I think you might have went in a little weak at 60ml the recommended dilution is 50ml to 250ml water so even using 500ml you’d still need 100ml of product to achieve the recommended dilution

    The reacrive wheel cleaner looks like it does a first class job but I've always been led to believe that it, and fall out remover, should be used after the wheel is cleaned so it's acting on the ferous particles and not possibly being blocked by the dirt
