I bonded with my brothers and dad through Gears of War, my dad became a really good player at Gears 2 online. He never saw the announcement of Gears 3. But i vow to play every Gears game for him in his stead. Gears of War is one of my favorite series of all time.

I love halo and Gears but for some reason I have all GOW games and not all of the Halo games, although I've played them all, I feel more connected to the GOW campaign and its characters

You can connect more with the GOW characters than with the Halo Characters. All you have in halo are a bunch of badasses that show little to no emotion. Given that the latest Halo games are changing the way we feel for most of the characters now.

The Retro Lancer, like the HK-5, use much more powerful rounds, fire slower, and are heavier weapons with different components. The Lancer, like the MP-5, are smaller, shoot smaller rounds, and shoot faster. Not to mention that where the original, or Retro Lancer had a fixed bayonet, the Lancer has a MOTHERFUCKIN' CHAINSAW! WOOOOO!!!
I remember when gow3 came out, I played it non stop and only after two years of grinding the game did I stop playing it everyday. I still play it every couple of days and it still remains as my favourite game ever. Am I the only one who has never gotten bored of playing it??

Gears of War is my absolute favorite game series of all time. When the first was made, it's only competitors were halo and call of duty; all three kinda cornering their own market. When everyone wanted to play a military shooter or a science fiction shooter, gears brought in a fantastic, blood filled breath of fresh air into gaming.

She just has a strict policy of not becoming a fan of the content she writes for. It's so she doesn't end up writing fan fiction. The closest she ever came to breaking that rule was when she became a massive fan of Red Vs. Blue while writing her Halo Kilo Five trilogy. That is why "Yoink!" and "Blarg!" ended up as easter eggs in those books.
So excited that there's going to be split screen co-op on the PC version as well. That means I can still play it with my friend without having to buy an Xbox One.
yea that was a smart move, i played gears ultimate on my friends xbox as well as my own pc and the amount of frame-drops especially while running which you do a lot of, got on my nerves real fast on console which apparently is happening again in 4 according to a bunch of reviews so i plan to bring my pc to my friends house and use his 1080p tv to play splitscreen so we can have amazing framerates and i can use my mouse/kb while he gets to use his controller. very smart move on microsofts side, kudos

i finished the game this morning and honestly i could say that not only does it looks and play amazing, it took all the best parts from the original trilogy and put it into this game and it succeeds in flying colours. And goddamn the last part was such a cocktease and goddamn does it earn it. I don't want to spoil it but the theories, the theories are upon us.

Gears is probably the only series I have had 0 complains about (except judgement but we don't talk about that game) the main 3 games though, almost flawless imo
What I love and miss about Gears of War 1 is that in multiplayer you only had one life and could kill your teammates with friendly fire. It was brutal and unforgiving and I think that was the appeal. Every decision mattered and the stakes were high. The franchise has evolved in a good way and I have enjoyed it. And of course its not GoW unless there's connection issues on day one.

There are a shit ton of other weapons to chose from in a futuristic - sci-fi warfare based setting/time-periods that will create every bit as much blood and gore without the having to include the absolutely ridiculous saw weapons came from and still have a very 80's to 90's passe/dated weapon-concept. Whether it be Warhammer 40K, Warzone: Mutant Chronicles, - when it came to miniatures and board-game examples and then of course the celebrated Doom and then Quake an onto Unreal of the mid to late 90's era where they were at pretty much their zenith, which is exactly why Gears has always from the get-go, turned me off and after finally playing it i was pretty much everything i expected it to be like. The game was okay, at best - average, there is no way in hell this series even remotely deserves the status and praise it's received over the years! Microsoft can afford to invest the money to make GoW4 to drive people to XBone but released it on Windows too? Admittedly that's the only reason I might end up buying and I fully support them going dual platform. Maybe they initially planned it as a loss-leader to drive console sales and it just got caught up in the change of corporate strategy.

Doms brother Carlos who was Marcus's best friend. Ann's mother at Aspho Field and how Cole and Damon became friends. Also more on Hoffman and his wife and Bernie ending up with Hoffman. Read the books please don't miss out if you're a real Gears fan.

Microsoft can afford to invest the money to make GoW4 to drive people to XBone but released it on Windows too? Admittedly that's the only reason I might end up buying and I fully support them going dual platform. Maybe they initially planned it as a loss-leader to drive console sales and it just got caught up in the change of corporate strategy.

I remember in gears of war 1 when I first meet the wrenches and the exploding wrenchers I was shocked just to see the exploding wrenchers. It's fun just blowing them up too.

I read all of the Gears of War books By Karen Traviss if you haven't and you love Gears you are really missing out.The Backstory on some of the Characters is Amazing. Doms brother Carlos who was Marcus's best friend. Ann's mother at Aspho Field and how Cole and Damon became friends. Also more on Hoffman and his wife and Bernie ending up with Hoffman. Read the books please don't miss out if you're a real Gears fan.
