  • The Catcher in the Rye provides one of the most intimate glimpses into one of America's most reclusive authors, J. D. Salinger. It has been universally recognized as the handbook for angsty teenagers but it is so much more than 200 pages of a whiny 16 year old. The novel is a deeper reflection of Salinger’s own youth, his complicated relationship with growing up and the generational trauma affected by World War II. Undeniably autobiographical, Salinger drew on his personal experiences fighting in the war and his New York upbringing to pen the character of Holden Caulfield. He created a character that shows the comfort in intergenerational connections and the teenage identity that is shared with all of us. No-one should watch this video before reading the book,
It's perfect after reading the whole at least once.

J D Salinger isn't dead. He faked his death and opened a bike store specialising in tandems . He was then taken to Hollywoo where he had a hugely successful, if short lived, TV quiz called "Hollywoo stars and celebrities, what do they know? Do they know things? Let's find out!"

Then probably you didn't understand the metaphors , then all these will seem too related to each one's personal life. Please watch John Green explain some points in his Vlogbrother videos, after giving it a second chance again. Then you might love it. The novel is best if you are lost and don't have any idea what next , or any other haphazard like that, then you will get everything goes around and around, and nothing is that much important to ruin your life
