You can see how Nawazuddin's eyes litt up and he is actually interested in giving his input to the conversation when you talk to him about acting and bringing life to his character. Thats his passion and love. Rest everything, he is just doing it as a job which is asked of him.

Well, I went to my class at my university in Malaysia and then one of my friend who’s a Malaysian Chinese showed me Sacred game saying this is superb and suggested me to watch since he knew I know hindi cause I’m from Bangladesh. So, it’s a matter that this was not a usual Hindi content and just because it was out of box people loved it around the world. Gaitonde is back and now I’m happy.

How humble is Nawaz great guy
Some Indian friends might find it mind boggling but Sacred Games has a "sacred" following in Pakistan. Since I was a kid, we've been watching Indian films, mostly on VHS and then on DVDs/Blurays and now it seems the TV revolution is taking over. The fact is, whenever an anti-Pakistan film was made or released, it would pretty much instantly be rejected by the audiences here. In case of Sacred Games, we all knew this will end-up with ISI and Pakistan, which it did - but people here admired it for it's amazing direction, candid screenplay and a storyline which despite having some lows, wasn't just glued together but immaculately conceived and equally well produced! Bravo! Vikram said it rightly, this is not a good "Indian" show, it is a good show - and I've seen plenty from Breaking Bad to GOT all the way to TBBT, The Wire and others. What a world-class production this was!
Vikram gave a looong 3min explanation for censorship and nawaz just said "same here". Dats Gaitonde for you 😏

Generally most Indian series are remakes of foreign counterparts. SG series on the other hand felt so orlginal. Granted, some inspiration was taken from Chernobyl and other series , but the characters and plot were so refreshing. Haven't read the book yet, but the source material ,if it is half as good as the series it's definitely worth a read. Gonna buy the book now
