    Hey there - Huge News for the channel!
    I’ve been mentioning my love for acrylic shelves and displays since 2017, since there really isn’t anything else out there that accomplishes the same result.
    I reached out to Joe @ Achieve Display last week to see if we would work out referral discounts for gamers.
    As of today - MarMax Gaming & Achieve Display are officially partners :) In the check out comments section, simply put “MarMax Gaming sent me!” or similar and you’ll get 10% off of your total order!
    Check them out, their stuff is really awesome plus it’s way less expensive than the other sites / products I’ve seen. Appreciate your support, enjoy the discount!

    running it on an overclocked megadrive, the slowdowns disapeared, making the game waaaaaay better, responsive and "fair"....and for me, disactivating this non stop popping of ennemies when we change screen is a blessing, really, way more quality of life than in nes games...and putting the menu button to A is a game changer too, waaaay appealing...
    If you have an overclocked megadrive, get this game!!

    So far this is the best Wily Wars Review I've ever seen! A lot of Megaman fans like to dismiss this game, but I find it to be an underappreciated gem.
    A little advice on fighting the Megaman Copy Boss. Use Fire Storm because it does a lot of damage and it allows you to push him off of you if he comes in too close.

    In the clone battle, you can opt to use Fire or Elec; Elec's long, wavy beam gives you some room for error on your shots, and Fire gives you a momentary shield that knocks back the clone if the clone tries to jump on top of you.

    Loved the Genesis graphical change in MM1. I prefer MM1 over MM2 due to the better Wily Stages, and generally stage design/weapons overall. MM2 is still a solid game, but I preferred MM1 much more.

      I know what you mean.. I prefer running through MM1 sometimes too. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but they’re both great games.. MM2 is just more accessible for a lot of people since it’s way easier on “Normal Mode” and it does kill it on the audio/visual front of course.. my least favorite thing is that room where you need to perfectly pace your crash bombs and any mistakes with it means forcing a game over to try again. I’ve only played Wiley Wars on my genesis mini and I noticed a big difference in how it controls compared to the NES counterparts as well. I found just moving to be much more touchy and “slippery” feeling. Making some sections I have no problem with on NES kind of annoying and difficult on the genesis.

    Good things about the Wily Wars version of MM1 :
    - The Hyper Bomb is more efficient than the NES counterpart; it blow more faster. Even the Wily Tower robot masters are weak to it.
    - It have some good background for the 6 robot master and the wily stage. Even the Robot Master have a head mugshot.
    - The Yellow Devil is more easy than the NES version due lower frame and you can avoid his bodies part so easily.

    Not gonna mention how Cutman and Bombman are harder without their weakness now. I used be able to destroy them with my Mega Buster no problem before but in Wily Wars the buster only does 1 peg of damage rather than two I think in the NES version. This made the rematch of Cut Man harder since he didn't have the blocks to use Gutsman's weapon on him

      Interesting, I didn’t notice 1 peg against cut man or bomb man… not sure if that’s true or not, they were still easy fights so I didn’t notice! It's a nerf given to other "thrown weapons" like the Metal Blade and the Shadow Blade. And let's be real, the former needed that the most.
    15:10
    Actually, there's one change that you missed. Defeating one of the modules spawns the next immediately, and chucking a Guts Block at it with Super Arm DOESN'T cause it to break on contact. Because of that, you can make the fight so much quicker by timing your throws so that you take out two of the modules with one block, thus making it possible to finish the fight with exclusively the Super Arm.

    • @MarMaxGaming
      @MarMaxGaming  Před 2 lety +1

      Do you know if it was a coincidental oddity nerf or if they actually decided that you can’t run and throw? They nerfed your Buster enough, it’s not like any of these weapons turn the original games on their head to become extremely easy, so to me it seems like another result of a 3rd party team with a lot of complications.

    • @slimballs9650
      @slimballs9650 Před 2 lety +1

      @@MarMaxGaming
      a. I'm not sure about that, but my guess is the latter. They may have wanted to do it for the Metal Blade, which they did, but because there's two other "thrown weapons" (Rolling Cutter and Shadow Blade) in the same game (and likewise the same engine), I think the nerfs to those two were unintentional nerfs may have carried over.
      b. [I]t’s not like any of these weapons turn the original games on their head to become extremely easy", you say? Say hello to the Metal Blade, which pretty much broke Mega Man 2.
      c. And yes, you can still shoot 3 shots with the Buster during a jump. It's just that you have to shoot once on the way up to do it.
      d. Also, the section at 10:58 is, as far as I have experienced, easier in the Genesis version, since Mega Man can actually squeeze through after freezing the flame geysers even if it doesn't look like he could do it, thus giving you a slightly larger margin of error. This is not present in the NES version.

    • @MarMaxGaming
      @MarMaxGaming  Před 2 lety

      @@slimballs9650 yeah I’m very familiar with MM2, the metal blade is just a fun and good weapon.. it’s not much better than something like the three way elec blasts that 1 shot everything. So this was clearly an oversight, not a purposeful nerf.
      And Lol man I didn’t “MISS” anything I can’t literally talk every every nuance in an 18 min video, it was a fast paced compare & contrast from beginning to end of the game… but any fun facts you want to add? I’m all for it.

      @@tseriesisadisease3090 haha yeah sure, but that’s annoying, so I was just talking about not entering and climbing through the whole level twice. As in, you’ll want cut man’s weapon. It would be unusual for somebody to even think to revisit, if they couldn’t get it the first time, is the major point I was getting at.

    Why would nintendo and sega have a war when THIS exist

      ThisNintendoFan ! Good question! It’s because Capcom created Mega Man, so Nintendo didn’t have exclusive rights to the games and looks like they tried some things out with Sega to play on both sides of the fence!

    I don't think it's worth spending like 400 dollars on this game. Sure it looks better but I want something that PLAYS better. The NES Versions still look great to this day, the music is better (In my opinion), and it plays better than the genesis versions.

      Oh definitely, it’s a very cool novelty but having your rate of fire nerfed is a very tough flaw to forgive lol… I agree in general too, I like the NES OSTs a lot. I’m excited to see what you think of the other 3 parts of the Wily Wars, including Wily Tower! Thanks Jacob!

      @@idk15762 that’s the smart move! And there are 3 more parts, basically first 3 parts are Mega Man 1, 2, 3 and then “Part 4 of 3” is the Wily Wars exclusive Wily Tower with three new robot masters and a few final stages!
