Allah categorised the Muslims(Sahaba) into groups such as Al Muhajireen and Al Ansar.
Will you say Allah is sectarian?😄
Also, the Sahaba used the term Ahlus Sunnah.
Similarly, the terms such as Sunni, Ahlul Hadith were used by the Salaf who understood the Deen better than you ya akhi.
Earlier Scholars used the name Salafi.
Ascribing names to oneself isn't considered Sectarianism ya Akhi.
Do you think the Sahaba did not understand the verse of the Quran about splitting into sects?
A person has to be misguided to think like that.
Do you actually know what splitting into sects mean?
It means creating ideologies different from that of the Salaf.
Those who leave the way of the Salaf have created sects.
If a person is not upon the way of the Salaf and he calls himself only Muslim without Firqa, do you think he will be saved?
Absolutely not!
Also, a person is allowed to not call himself a Salafi. But it's wrong to criticise someone who does that.
Because, you indirectly criticise the Sahaba, the Tabieen and the Taba Tabieen who ascribed names to themselves.
