  • The Tragic Life Story Of Amy Winehouse
With a voice beyond her years, echoing the musical eras of the past, Amy Winehouse was a deep soulful siren in a sea of light frothy popstars. With a dark sultry voice that seemed to come from the very depths of her being, she eclipsed what had become the norm for female vocals and exploded onto the music scene less like a breath of fresh air and more like a firework.

Both of them were singing in a way that white girls at the time were not singing. I never said Adele wasn’t talented, don’t put words in my mouth. Adele would have been successful anyway but Amy deserves credit (which Adele has given her) in terms of HOW BIG Adele has obviously gone. Back to Black came out in 2006, Adele had two records out in the 5 years following whereas Amy had none. The anticipation for Amy inevitably leaned towards Adele because Amy hadn’t put an album out. So Amy had already brought hype to UK artists while she was alive.

Amy was a friend of mine. Not a close friend mind you, but we talked quite a bit. I had approached her to do an interview and she had literally no interest, however she was more than willing to just talk as a person. She was sweet, she was funny, but she also was lonely. In my time with her she seemed to be a bit like a little kid alone at home waiting for their parent to come home; she’d get upset and concerned if I went too long without replying, assuming I abandoned her.
When I saw the things the press was saying about this woman I knew I was angry and heart broken. It was so one dimensional, so condescending, and so shitty as all of the papers just wanted to cover the same things. She deserved understanding and kindness as that’s what she brought to the table.

Alcoholism can be just as devastating as opiate addiction. Amy was an addict before she met blake and the trauma in her childhood caused that. Her reaction when Tonny anounced she was the winner of the Grammy is priceless. I remember looking at it on TV and made feel even better that she won, she really deserved it and Grammys since the very early 90s late 80s rarely go to who really deserves them. That expression in disbelief simply showed how little she thought of herself, she was her own enemy, she ended up loosing the fight with herself and there was nothing we could do. Now I see that video as more than just satisfaction she was getting it, I see it like a sign that she was not gonna win that war but for a tiny moment when she went and hugged the player from the band she was happy, she was excited and probably she saw a bit of light and that tiny minute is enough to say that the only thing that helped her to go on was music. She was real, she was defective? Yes, big time as we all are. However her sorroundings molded her into a non sustainable human and go others our sorroundings have stopped that defect to make us breakdown. That's a life that the World fails to protect just like so many however what killed her was that in the end she cheated on herself that she knew when to stop or when was enough. RIP Amy, we rest everytime we remember you through your music after we get out of work, we drive or we have a cup of tea in the afternoon. I hope that's enough for you to rest forever because in life you couldn't rest. 🤍🖤 It's never an overstatement to say that we lost a real artist, somebody not meant to completely unravel her talent but we all know how much talent she had.

All she wanted in life was to be a wife and mother. It's sad to say this because I love her so much but I somehow wish she never became as famous as she did, even if it means I wouldn't have heard of her. It was probably her dream to be able to perform at small jazz clubs/pubs whenever she wanted and to go back to a family at home. NEVER forget what the media did to this woman, and how no one would let it happen in 2019.
Rest in peace dahling ♥️ you're missed.

She died right after I lost 3 of my family members, but I grieve for her like she was family. Her music brought me through some of the most painful times of my life. She will always be in my heart, just like family.

I watched the documentary about her called “Amy” and it was so depressing. I felt so bad... it showed how her dad was totally exploiting her fame for his own gains. And unfortunately she took solace in the bottom of the bottle. She became a joke in the eyes of the public and sadly death was just inevitable as everyone around her obviously just used her up and no one seemed to care enough to get her the help she desperately needed.

She was never a joke. She was always a musical legend. I am fed up of people saying that, as it undermines the great accomplishments she made in life.

It was really just the public (or part of it) that thought she was a joke cause from the moment frank came out up until the day she died she was viewed as an absolute talented musical genius by both critics and fellow artists… some artists have the masses on their side but lack the acceptance and liking from experienced critics and fellow musical legends, some are critically acclaimed but lack the public to be considered a legend, Amy at one point was able to fully balance it out being viewed as a legend by both, which is not only revealing of her talent but also extremely difficult to accomplish.

@Joseph Wilson she was a legend through her entire life but what you fail to realize is its so easy to become a joke and become mocked as a celeb. To this day when celebs lives are put on the spot as press or entertainment people love to point and laugh

this was hard to watch. i knew all these things as her career and moments leading to her death unfolded before my eyes. as a child i didn't understand the issues she was having but i remember asking my mom why can't anyone help her i think she is really sad she told me some people don't want to be helped some people want to stay in their sadness. Without knowing it my mom was trying to make me understand depression. Amy was battling with depression its why her drug use got worse when her main drug, the bf, was away. Her grandmother passing was probably the stressor that sent her down a self destructive path. and it makes me sad to think her best song rehab was so popular considering it was her admitting she needs rehab but she is too far gone in her sadness that it won't help. we all watched it happen and we did the same with whitney. Michael, whitney, amy and robin were all deaths that have stayed with me. I have felt true grief from the deaths of these people who never knew i existed.

If Amy stayed alive, I don't think Lady Gaga would blown up as big as she did. They have similar looks actually but there was something that Amy Winehouse had that gave her that something extra🌹RIP🌹
