(just a few steps to Jomtien Beach across the road). I can't understand why anybody would move to a completely different country & want to live like they would (of course it would cost more money) in their own country. I lived on a tropical island for 3 years & I loved living like a local.
Agreed, not my style, either. But there are numerous expats here in Thailand who prefer this lifestyle... safety in numbers, I suppose. Personally, I'll take the beach village, any day! 😎
Exactly. Who would want to live on a ranch that is being vandalized by neighbor teens. You don't want that grief on your retirement. You want a beach lifestyle instead with no maintenance on your part with security and all the accoutrement at your fingertips. Grocery? Just walk with your cart. How convenient. No car needed....just a motorbike.

@bigradwolf5001 Exactly. I copied. BKK is a madhouse. Yes, fun in short doses. In Koh Chang at the moment. Got off to a rocky start, but the little town of White Sands (lol, Americanized name, I'm sure) has redeemed herself. I'll post a few YTs as soon as I can. Limited time left, so grabbing imagery. 😊
