I‘m due to have my upper teeth removed soon and an immediate denture fitted. Your videos are so uplifting and motivational- thanks from Manchester, England ✋✅
Hello Heather I just found you here and you are the most and best infomred on how to eat realfood with dentures. I have full dentures and I was looking to see what is the best way to each with full dentures. Eating on both sides . Thank you. Also the information on waiting 30-45 mins. Today I started using a product called Densurefit and it worked to help keep my teeth secure and I ate about half my dinner first time. Now I know more from you and will continue with baby steps and eating real food chewing on both sides. Thank you.
Densurefit is the best soft reline ever. I use that and never need adhesive. Amazing product. Takes time to master a soft reline doing it yourself. I'm so happy you were able to have a better day and it helped you! That is absolutely amazing! Yes their are many tricks to eats. But gotta always have a great fitting denture 💜💜
My top and bottom extractions coming up in 2 weeks. Pray for mr. 6 top and 5 bottom. They are doing temp impressions in a week with consult. Thanks for all of your great tips and advice on products. Xoxo
Remember security of denture is the most important part. It should not move whatsoever. If you have a loose denture and you had a loose denture from the start that's the dentist fault for making the denture poorly. It should have been very snug and tight. But remember it's going to hurt when you eat because it's fresh extractions but the more you eat the better it will be and it will toughen up your gums. But always eat with an even bite when you first start out with dentures
Hi Heather, I'm on day 8 now, and tried fixodent for the first time today, my denture is already so loose. It helped a lot, and now I can trying how to chew. You're right, you can't chew with a loose denture.
Yes when you're first starting out for the first month you can put adhesive on the top pallet just not the trough the gum section where the extractions are
I'm waiting for 2 months before I get my permanent dentures, I'm getting partial for the bottom. My dentist said bottom dentures move around a lot,so I had 2 good teeth on the bottom..
I'm so looking forward to eating again😍If it weren't for mashed potatoes and oatmeal I'd withered away by now😂 It's been years since I've been able to chew food due to broken teeth. I'm 7 days out until ED, scared but ready. Tbh, I'm more afraid of autoimmune kicking my butt as far as healing, I know you deal with the same health issues did you notice a delay in heal time?
Not at all. I mean I went into a flare u but honestly diseases wise I was good 🙂💜 I was worried like you. I promise everything will be ok. Plus if you need me I'm always here
And I also do the same as Heather I wait between 15 to 30 minutes before I eat or drink and with that I also can eat and have them in at least 12 to 14 hours a day there in I get up at 630 am to generally take them out between 630- 830 pm so yeah it work and I agree with her 100%
You can always message me anytime I'm around LOL I float. Like no joke dude I am probably messaging about at least 50 to 70 people a day. Because you know things that have opened up and everybody's getting Dentures done and all that it's increased by so much so I'm always talking to people. But I'm glad you're doing good though I just haven't heard from you and was hoping you were okay
Thank you I'm on day 2 with my permanent dentures and I've not yet put anything to secure them I wimp out yesterday cause I had just got my dentures very late in the evening and I was hungry so I eat great with out teeth but I know these cost alot of money and I'm going to make them work. So I drank water and it lifted my bottom denture yea me,then I thought let's try something that melts sorta fast and it stuck to my top denture. This sucks so here's hoping I'm going to put adhesive in wait an hour then try Mac and cheese. lord help me
I definitely try to stay away from the more chewier stuff like steaks and pork chops. Which pork chops are my favorite uhg. I refined my older dentures and got lucky a couple times where I could tare up corn on the cob. 😂 An other times I couldn’t. Not sure what I did right other then the reline I did I got lucky and it kept my bottoms holding good with the adhesive. Now I got my newer dentures last week and they seem to be a pain even trying to eat a sandwich. I don’t have much of a bottom gum so it’s a challenge. I got so use to my old ones that I want to wear them again and I think I wore them down to look square hahaha. My top denture seem to be to loose. I think I’ll experiment one more week and then call the dentist if I can’t feel confident in how they are working out for me.
Hey Heather! Thanks for the videos you do. I have been waiting 30 to 45 minutes before eating and drinking and into the second or third bite and the bottom Dentures starts getting loose and poping up. I am into my second month with my temporary dentures. Any suggestions?
If your denture is loose and moving around without adhesive that means you need to soft rewind no adhesive will help you without one. That and if your tongue muscles are hitting your denture you need an adjustment since having a full bottom denture I realize that the biggest problem with bottom dentures is not having the right adjustment
I've had one soft reline already. That was a month ago, the dentist said it should last until January. It lasted it seems about a month. How long is the reline suppose to last
Well if it's falling q part at a month the. Your cleaning it too hard. If you mean it don't last bc of gum shrinkage and becoming loose then that's not the reline that's your gum shrinkage.
With my bottom denture I use fixodent ultra hold, spread it out then sprits denture with water and use fixodent powder on top of that . Best hold so far! Found this process here on CZcams
Well it's not really a process because fixodent ultramax is the strongest adhesive. But self-reliners really need to be done once a month for the first year. Because having a fit hold of a denture is what prevents any adhesive from melting.
Heather is right adhesive is key and so is waiting when I wait I can eat almost anything chips and sandwiches and all that stuff and small bites are key cause remember it’s not a race and if you eat like a hamburger or a hotdog hold it with your thumb under the bun a little bit down bony will see it and small bites are key what she says is all true
My sore spots feel like it's not becaise there to loose but feel to tight im on day 7 now after extractions and immediate dentures and these sore spots are killinggg me done been back to the dentist twice to try fix them they just cant seem to get it right smh
Yes that's bc of swelling. That don't last long. With in two weeks that all goes away. Happens to most people with immediate dentures bc swelling is between day 3-6. Those days are when their at the max swelling. Man that was hard. The first week and a half was bad for me. But the swelling goes down. Ibuprofen if you can take it and frozen peas help a lot. Don't keep adjusting bc when you do it will be really big when the swelling goes away
Amazing ice pack! It forms gently to your face with the correct amount of cool without freezing your face off and without the pain when you have swelling with a normal ice pack whether it's gel or hard sitting on your face epically hurts so yes frozen peas are more gentle and they form beautifully to the face
You talked about not eating for 30 to 45 minutes after putting adhesive on, what about drinking water or drinking anything ? Same wait for drinking if your mouth is dry?
After you apply adhesive like every video I say no eating or drinking for 45 minutes the adhesive needs to dry if you drink you're going to melt it adhesive melts in matter
I just watched your video It's 5pm on Wednesday August 30th 2023 my question for you hopefully you get this have you ever used powder to hold in your dentures
Well you can actually if you take small bites you can actually use your tongue to feel how much you've chewed it. So you can eat soft foods just got to take smaller bites and the more you learn to do it the better you get at it you can't just stop eating all together just take smaller bites and use your tongue before you swallow to make sure you chewed it all the way
Well I wouldn't know any of that LOL and support groups don't allow certain things but I'm sure there's dating with Dentures on Facebook I mean I personally wouldn't do that but it's totally your choice. But my pages my channels and support groups are not dating with dentures. But there are a lot of people with their natural teeth that are understanding and don't care if somebody has dentures. Good luck!
Not all people do. 80% do 20% insurance can't and won't pay for both so they end up getting perms way too soon. But you can hard reline it at 14 months and your good to go
@susan4826 if you have a warranty with them then they would do soft reliners there's no calling extra insurance companies if you do not have a warranty. You can do your own which is pretty easy to do. Nothing complicated and it comes out better
@debbietaylor1807 do you not have dentures? Because if you just take small bites start with soft solid food and any food could be a soft solid food you can even use a slow cooker and that'll turn it into super soft even every meat in the world. But if you have dentures and you're choosing to use your tongue instead of your teeth that's going to be really hard on you and you can actually tear muscles in your tongue. So I always tell people small bites to start soft solid foods take your time and it'll eventually become so easy you can eat whatever you want
Love your personality it's real and thanks for the info it helps me for my upper dents getting in about 1 week
These videos are so informative, I thank you soooooo very much!!!

Thanks!! Just bought the fixodent!
Sorry for the potatoe salad that flung out my mouth lol trying to teach and eat and easy 💜 so sorry for the grossness
Mine is just learning to chew. Not bite its just hard to chew
Normally smaller bites and security of denture helps tremendously. Our dentures are dull so small bites help
I loved your video you seem so down to earth and gave me confidence in my new teeth I will be subscribing.
Thank you ❤️☺️
What is a good adhesive? Thank you for the tips.
Thanks!

Don't ever use adhesive after extractions. You have to wait a month
@@HeatherBDentureDiVa Just put some om the pallette, not on the extraction spots

If steaks are cooked correctly they aren't chewy. Only over cooked they are. Do a thin, super thin slice it melts in your mouth.

Heather B. Denture DiVa right so true
Hi. I eat a lot of rice. (I live in Thailand). A lot of food collects between my lower and my cheek. Suggestions? Thank you.
Soft reliners need to be done. Anytime food gets in that means there is a space causing it. They need to be done often
In tried to eat a pop cycle.. could not get it my mouth. also can i suck on life savors with it not ruining my dentures?
As long as you don't bite them you can suck on them. Sounds like your bottom denture is hitting your tongue muscles to where it's preventing you?

I just watched your video It's 5pm on Wednesday August 30th 2023 my question for you hopefully you get this have you ever used powder to hold in your dentures
Yea early days of dentures. Power is good for light hold just extra security on dentures that already fit well
I got my top Dentures on June 15th and they're just my nydia ones right now and yeah I'm having hecuba time with them
My immediate dentures
Having a heck of a time with them sorry things are not spelling right for me tonight been a long day
Girl those dentures giving me so much trouble can't talk can't eat
I have only lower dentures all upper one is mine .but still can't eat
Lower dentures are harder to get use to. When did you get them? Bc early on it does take time. The more you wear them the more you get use to it
I just got mine I can’t feel nothing or taste 😒 whhhhhhhhyyyyyyyy I love them but what can I do
I can't eat soft foods because I can't tell if I chew or not

No one can immediately eat good with dentures. Takes practice. But if your dentures are not tight in place and move around yes soft reline is needed

@debbietaylor1807 do you not have dentures?
