My number one asset is my health.
Wow! What an eye opener. Just realized that my wife of 43 years is my most important asset.
Amazing! Congratulations on 43 years!
What a great presentation. You really nail the inclusion of assets that most do not take into consideration - and are just as important in those that have $$ value. I’m very involved in my faith community which has given me much peace but also instructed me to fill my storehouse, not to take on debt and pass on my wealth for generations. Thank you for the perspective reminder. Bless you.
Nice perspective of looking at assets. Thanks for sharing. We retired a year ago at age 55 and actually started a CZcams channel as we travel. We have learned so much and has completely changed our view of retirement living.
Amazing! Congratulations, you two!
I first started my IRA when they first came out and always worked OT now I’m retired and loving it. I never missed the money and am loving life
Retirement planning can be quite overwhelming, especially when it comes to choosing the right investment options.
It's my third month being retired now. And life hasn't been so difficult as I thought basically because I put my head down and made ways for other source of Income. I'm a huge fan of earning more money, and I think everyone should have a side hustle. Side hustling can allow you to earn that little bit of extra money that can help you achieve your financial goals faster - whether it's paying off student loans or saving for retirement.
I am 55 years old with very little set aside for retirement at this point. I have always been curious about the stock market and have witnessed some people who played the game right and retired early because they used the stock market. When I ask them, most said that they invested very little to start with, but their portfolio grew. I do have a significant amount of capital that is required to start up but I have no idea what strategies and direction I need to
approach to help me make decent returns.
By having the the middle and right part of your chart of assets, you are absolutely correct that the financial situation can be reworked and rebuilt. It’s those core values that are missing in todays world. God bless 💖
Thanks for this comment, T.R.
I have listened to a lot of financial advice,,,, I have never heard this perspective before.
We do think a little differently. 🙂
Excellent perspective and context. This is what differentiates the professional adviser from the salesman. Keep up the good work
THINKING OF LIFE AFTER RETIREMENT is really a pain in the ass…. What’s the best advice for someone worried over Retirement.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! its true - we only prepare and talk about the financial assets in retirement.. but those will be worthless without the other two.
Love this message. As somebody that will soon have 2 adult children and can seriously start thinking about scaling back work or calling it a career soon, this is incredibly important.
Good! I'm so glad this was helpful.
I like your videos and advice Dave, and I will definitely be getting in touch with you to evaluate my retirement situation as I get closer. I’m 59 now and a bit late in my savings plan, but I plan to work another 5 years at least so I believe I will be fine
This really was an awesome video. It did get me to thinking about my children. My oldest son is "The Cajun Ninja" and very successful. Looking at the 3 assets I think he would choose to keep #2 and #3. Now my daughter who is a Speech Therapist also doing very well, but 6 years younger I believe would drop #2. My reasoning is simple. First she was way more spoiled than him and second my son has told me he wants me to spend all my money before I go where as I think she has mentioned to my son "I wonder how much money dad will leave us" lol.
I’m trying to take full advantage of the new year, I’ve allocated my capital in a safe and sustainable way but still leave room for excitement for individual stocks, cryptos and new exciting opportunities!
Why not it will really depend on your investment method and the broker you are investing with just have to invest wisely
My husband plans to retire soon... in 3 weeks soon and while I'm hyper focused on $ and have saved a hefty sum during our working years, I am quietly terrified. Thanks for this video and making me think in a different way.
Haha! Me too! It’ll be all the husband and about a 5th of the money! Good thing he’s an amazing friend and companion. We have worked hard, saved and believe the LORD will sustain us. Take care!
Oh no don’t be afraid, you’re starting a new chapter in your book of life. Yup there may be rough spots but you will learn in short time to love it
This video is amazing. In just a couple of minutes you turned my head around.
Wow! Thanks so much for saying that. I'm glad it was helpful.
Great vlog. Dropping 1 out of 3 gives a perspective.
Thank you, Faith!
I like your channel. Keep up the good work.
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Absolutely superb video 🙏🏿
Thank you 🙌
Don't fool yourselves... In the world we live in, only one category rules them all - financial assets period.
i'm new to the channel, and i'm loving it.
So glad you're liking it!
Health, and wealth.
Everything else is optional..
Very interesting perspective.
Thanks for commenting, Walter.
This guy makes sense!
Thanks so much, Anthony!
Time & Good Health are your greatest assets in or nearing retirement. You will soon be a memory without either. You can always make more money, but our time is limited. Live your best life today!
Thank you, I like that your videos are not too long.
Good information!
Thanks. I appreciate the comment!
Great perspective. Time, people, health. 🙂
CZcams out here giving out real game.
lol.
This is a very helpful video. Thank so much!
Glad it was helpful! You're so welcome.
Thank you for another informative and thoughtful presentation. One of the things I value is learning. Since I retired in January I have been participating in on-line classes offered by Wondrium. This subscription based video service offers thousands of courses and documentaries. The cost is about $150/year.
Thanks for this message. But my salary is not good enough to get good assets.
Who knows about the FIRE movement?
Several people recommend learning foreign languages as you get older to stay sharp and help mitigate potential cognitive decline.
If your mind goes the rest of it doesn't matter much.
I don’t who, but someone actually needs to hear this, you've got to stop saving all your money. Venture into investing some, if you really want financial stability.
Amazing. Great help. Great way to look at a complex topic
Are you in Illinois, and do you do fee based only financial advice?
Hi Dan,
I am and we do.

I’m retiring next month. And I’m a bit nervous on how to keep up with my kids.
this video is very helpful
Glad you think so! Thank you!
Can I get journals on retirement planning?
Looks like the third column is a liability rather than asset.
What whiteboard program are you using in your videos, just curious. :)

@@StreamlineFinancial Thank you!
Well said and I agree ☝️
Thanks, David!
I need to find a firm in Maine who embodies your approach to retirement. Suggestions?
I wish I knew more firms with similar values and approach to helping people. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone like this in Maine.
We do work with clients all over the USA though.
If interested, visit streamlineplanning.com/ and would be happy to talk with you.
I don’t have anyone to pass anything to. I’m just trying to stay above water.
Love the chirping...🤑🤑👍
Lol. Gotta love recording videos at home ! 😊
I thought it was the soundtrack from Psycho.
I have achieved 3 of these and I'm retiring this year at the age pf 50.
50? You look like you're 20!
That's great to hear!
@@GrnXnham Less stress in life and proper diet makes you look younger.
Wealth makes the laws that poverty must obey. There is no wealth like knowledge and no poverty like ignorance. The wealthy plan for 3 generations ;the poor plans for Saturday night.. 🖖
Ah ha. Pretty heavy. Made me think. Good job.
Thought provoking
You only deal with wealthy people, right?
Dude 👊
🤙
great video
Thanks!
If money does not make you happy, your are shopping in the wrong place.
Heck even if you’re not happy at least you’re not broke.
My Health!
Yes!
Nice
Thanks, Toby.
Good presentation, but I’d rather pass on finances than intellectual assets to my family.
Good Explanation and thank you, also you can check my articles on Retirement jobs
I’d rather be rich and miserable than poor and miserable.
I'm 42 and my ultimate financial goal would be $4million in savings and a monthly passive income of $15,000, I've got about $230k to put in the market and l'd love to know how I could make this goal happen by the time I turn 50.
I feel so happy with the wonderful work well done. I invested £10k and received a payment of £27k in 2wks. Thank you sir you exceeded my expectations
If you don't find a means of multiplying money you will wake up to nothing
I had an Aha moment.
This guy is a financial advisor, I don't need him giving the advice of a psychologist.
I understand that. When I started 13 years ago, I focused only on the money and numbers for clients.
Then I quickly saw that the happiest people understood that there are more factors to financial decisions than just numbers. That's why I want to at least bring this topic up.
Thanks for your comment.
I actually think this a good advice. Our mindset and perspective can make a difference for a happy retirement.
