How to use Lower Anchor Connectors

- Installing a car seat? Don't make this dangerous car seat mistake! Your car seat’s lower anchor connectors (LATCH) have a weight limit. Once your child hits the weight specified by your car seat manufacturer, you must use the vehicle seat belt to install!

As a CPST I love the idea of the stickers! I highlight or sticky note the pages for the families I help if they have their instructions but that’s such a good idea!
Sticker is definitely better! Most of them lose the manual after a while lol
@@safeintheseat oh no doubt, but I haven’t found the funds yet to do stickers 😂
Not until you discussed it on a live. Thank you.
and you now know! thanks for joining an Amazon live with me :)
Was JUST talking about this 🙌
ESP!
I like using the LATCH system when rear-facing and then switching to the seatbelt when forward-facing. No particular reason. It's just what I personally do. Within the limits, obviously.
As long as the child is within the limits, that's fine!
I have the easy click installation. How do I get the seatbelt to go as tight at the easy click my boy is only 32lbs thankfully

What about boosters using latch? I can’t find a weight limit on mine.
Lower anchors on boosters are to prevent the seat from being a projectile when unoccupied and to keep it situated in the correct position on the vehicle seat. Since the seatbelt is doing the job of restraining the child, there is generally not a weight limit. Good for you for checking!
Thanks! So use them or not when a child is in the seat?
@@ashleydinger4987 use them (of course following any manual guidelines)! They are great for keeping the seat where it should be while the child is getting in and out and when the vehicle turns so that the booster is in the optimal position should there be a crash.
I'm just always confused. I own the Graco grows4me. Is it the seat weight plus my son's weight for the limit? He's 33 lbs.
You can use the lower anchors for the entire rear-facing installation (40#). When you turn forward-facing, go ahead and switch to the seat belt installation, so you don't have to think about the limit (45#). The limit is just the child's weight. The manufacturer already factored the weight of the seat into this number.
