- Since their inception, BBS has embodied what it means to be a race wheel. If you follow BBS’s extensive history it is easy to see why they’re at the top of the game; they had a hand in creating the RS, LM and many more quality wheels. Even though, they’re one of the largest wheel manufacturers in the world; some are reluctant to accept the brand due to their lack of involvement in today’s car scene. Just picked up a set of BBS XR’s for my new car. They look amazing. Finish is extremely nice. Love that they came with hub centric rings and lug nuts.
I refinish wheels on the side. My best sales have always been BBS branded OE wheels such as BMW’s style 19’s or Bentley’s Mulliner wheels. They are of top notch quality and that is the market that they are into: people looking for the absolute best, money no object.
Shame that they aren’t working more directly towards new wheels for the community, but from a business philosophy such as theirs currently... I get it. Hone your craft, then move to the next thing.

I put BBS wheels on my Audi, I never regret that choice. I think this brand still appeals to the more driver oriented enthusiast. The wheels perform great at my HPDE events and the shows I pull up to.
Our aftermarket focuses on performance and not necessarily form. We are function over form. Check out FI-R, CI-R, CH-R etc.

But my car is more geared towards performance than just aesthetics.

But it’s all for performance and handling. The aesthetics and stance is just a byproduct.

I have now the third set of BBS RC304 for my BMWs, cause they look so good and are extremely light whilst being strong enough for racing purposes.
I know the BBS Forged wheels are made by using Die Forge techniques, at least they have press machines. Unlike others brands use semi finished forged wheel barrels, then cut them by using CNC. That’s why the BBS is the OG, although other brands also make good forged wheels, but I feel the situation like “iPhone and other smartphones”.
The only thing I need to know is why they are so EXPENSIVE.

Saw a car with large silver on gold 17" or 18" BBS wheels. Looked good, liked it. But it was slapped on to a dusty blue 2016 or 2017 Elantra. (was one of those "overrated" fan fave wheels)
Car looked like shit, the wheels were dusty too,but those really caught my eye. The wheels had more sould than the car.

Personally I love my RKIIs I think they kick the crap out of newer rims in terms of looks. They might not be the lightest but they are really good looking.
So sad BBS does not give a single flying fuck about their customers. I will be switching over to a different brand as I cannot get anywhere an OEM replacement rear RC042 wheel for my 328i E36 clubsport coupe. Probably the best OEM wheel ever. Btw, guys at FI will you be doing a video about APEX wheels anytime soon?

If you drive a vw back in the day and didn’t have either Porsche wheels or actual bbs wheels than you weren’t cool . Early 80s rabbit on anything other than bbs was lame . You had to have bbs or Porsche and still should of you run any vw .
