    Plymouth also called the 3x2 carb setup 6 BBL. I've always loved the Plum Crazy Purple color it reminds me of a grape Popsicle. I also agree with you the stripe package on the sides have always looked odd to me like they were too abruptly cut off at the doors. That's why I prefer the stripe that goes around the trunk.

    Hey big bro Lou!! Oh man-you and Mark have shownus a true treasure here, man This Dodge has one of the hottest front ends EVER, that's for sure. I love to see the way Mark handles her, you know? Using those clean rags to open the hood pins....EPIC. As a former cast member of Altar Boyz, and who always had his ever present JV baseball tubesocks and floppy DC sneakers showing under my white altar boy robe (LOL!!! Father Callahan-and my Mom-were pissed!) do you think this Super Bee would have a similar effect as a Superbird, Lou? Would I be in my stocking feet real quick with this one?! • @MrBubba19692
      @MrBubba19692 Před 7 lety

      I used to build the same but a buddy of mine and myself switched to building 1/18 scale metal models. (Ertyl, etc.) They are held together by screws so you don't get parts falling off when the glue deteriorates. You might have to make a few parts to bring it up to par but the results are incredible. It looks like a real car. My friend is so good at it he now makes his own engines that you could not get in the models like 427 SOHC Ford motors, Ram Air V Pontiacs etc. He even puts air conditioning in some using old aluminum wire from houses to fashion the A/C lines to his scratch-built compressors. Your eye spots that real aluminum right off. When he is finished his engines look like you could start them up. You should give it a try. :)

    • @imanaxbert1937
      @imanaxbert1937 Před 7 lety

      I have around 135 1/24 & 1/25 scale model muscle cars. No room or desire to change to the larger 1/18 scale. I build for accuracy to try to make them look real. A bit harder to do with the smaller scale. I am currently stepping out of my comfort zone & building a 1/35 scale WW2 scout car for a friend of mine.

    I have heard the '70 nose treatment wasn't popular, but I think it's the best part of the car, the tail lights look great too - unlike the fugly tail lights on the back of the '70 Swinger 340/4 Auto that I drove in High School...I have always liked the Coronet/Satellite body style, but a Plum Crazy '70 like this, is one of my Dream Cars...For as tough as Mopar's of this era were, by the late 60's their Instrument Panels got very cheap, and very tacky looking in comparison to earlier designs, like the '59 Coronet's dash - but that's just my opinion...

It's just called a six pack, no dodge guy calls it anything else...plymouth guys call it a 6 barrel but no don't call it a tri power, 3 deuce or anything else that Chevy or pontiac guys would say, that's a sin. Midwest winters destroyed these cars. I don't know if it was a design flaw that made the fenders trap water and salt, or it was thinner metal. But growing up in Michigan, I hardly remember seeing one that wasn't rusted out within a couple years.

      Fred Marquez Mopars are fast and sexy but,sadly do not function very well as,cars. I mean regular Transportation duties. I had a few when I was a younger man and enjoyed them immensely, but now I am much too old for that kind of drama. My back locks up now when I am bent over under an open hood and straightening up is more of a process than an act... fighting rust and electrical problems gets old too, not to mention single-digit gas mileage in an age of $4 a gallon gas, at least I had my fun when I was a kid!

It's like the first thing I notice when the hood is opened. They have all the period correct stickers, but couldn't buy a battery? Come on. .... Bye the way, love your channel. I grew up in Roselle and my first car in highschool was a '74 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 440. One of a handful as that would be the last year for the 440 and that fuselage bodystyle. Bought it from Fenzel Chrysler Plymouth Dodge Trucks (at the time) in Hampshire Illinois. Was said to have been an undercover State Police car down in Sangamon Cty. Sold it to a friend in Bartlett that had a '72 with a 340, and a '65 Belvidere with a 426 street wedge, which I used to tow to Great Lakes Dragway for him. It seem there is a bad habit of zooming in and bringing the camera in close at the same time with the intent of bringing out the detail of the object. The finished product is the viewer sees less detail with a frame full of chrome. Honestly, I come to watch the video and realize it's that guy who messes up his own work with good intent.
