To everyone who says “I’d rather have a truck”, you obviously don’t own a ranch. We have trucks. I have a few. However, I also have trails where my trucks can’t go. None of my trucks have dump beds. None of my trucks have front and rear lockers. None of my trucks have 15” of ground clearance with full underbody protection. My trucks are also very heavy and will rut up a wet pasture quickly. These machines are built and marketed to ranchers, farmers and hunters for a reason. They are purpose built machines to go and do what our trucks can’t.

Finally a smart and sensible person in the comments. Trucks have their place and tools like this has its place. Yes it’s expensive but it’s purposely built to be in the woods and pasture all of its life. It’s the same as someone saying “my truck can tow 20,000lbs” well yeah an f250 is designed to do that. Now can my f250 cruise through a sloppy/muddy field with ease and not get stuck or rut up my pastures?

Definitely too expensive for me, but I can see the use case for this. Something that has amenities, is nimble, rugged, lightweight and can be towed from site to site with a midsize or half ton is beneficial for some. You can still buy the cheaper ones so I’m not upset that this exists

We had a Polaris ranger that we used on the cattle ranch for about 400 hours, overall it was trash. The engine had great power in the suspension was really good off-road, but it was super hard starting in the winter and all of the plastic exterior cab stuff got sunfated and cracked. The plastic roof cracked and leaked and the side doors were falling apart due to all the plastic clips. Most of what held that cab together over time was zip ties.
We just traded it in on our first gator, and man what a world of difference in quality! The gator is not an off-road monster like the Polaris was but it's way better rig for work

It costs like a 4WD pickup truck, it will carry a load like a light duty pickup, it has the comfort features of a pickup truck, but IT IS ILLEGAL TO DRIVE ON MOST PUBLIC ROADS IN MOST STATES. If you are a rancher or farmer in Wyoming or South Dakota (where ATV's can be licensed as street legal), this thing might be handy--if one is willing to spend $50K for an ATV! Too bad they don't put a 3-cyl Kubota diesel in it--then the thing would get about triple the fuel economy. As this one sits, I doubt that it gets much better fuel economy than a 1/2-ton 4WD truck.

Will it climb steep hills with no low range? Can you crawl over rocks without riding the brakes? How about mud, snow or sand? If you're going to "test" a side by side, TEST IT.

Same size a some vehicles you can get in Japan right now. I'm sure Japan has some very similar in off road performance. About the same as a small truck I drove while stationed in Japan. I think they are pricing themselves out of large piece of their demographic that would or could actually use this. However as long as they are selling, the price is not change. If 90% of the ones they sell are for the base unit, I could see them adjust the prices in the future. Polaris is making a killing profit on these rigs with the price points they have set though. Great video.

No it's not. Most of the ranchers around here go to the feed store then straight to their cattle to feed. No need to unload from one truck into a side by side creating twice the work. Same goes for mending fences and other ranch work.
Most ranchers don't have barns full of hay and even the few that do around here they use their trucks to haul it out to the fields. The only time I see sxs used are small lots five or ten acres and even then it's usually just to check on things.

On that ranch, hope you asked for a meat patty to cover it. lol. As for this expensive machine, well, the biggest pro/improvement is that steel belt. Curious if current owners with a CVT belt system could upgrade theirs to the steel. A lot of people are not loving their experiences with Polaris. But at this price point, I would think the well off rancher/hunters would not care about the maintenance as much as the luxury/comfort this offers. I know I would! Then again, I would have to have a LOT of land to justify it. I won't be buying 1. But it almost makes me wish I would. :)

You pointed out that you couldn't go fast towing a load with a $ 50,000 dollar truck. That's BS. Work was and still is done on a farm without sxs's.

Way too much money for a decided off road, non street legal vehicle. Buy a Jeep Gladiator and go from Trail/farm field to the feed store and back. Much more versatile. But they will sell a tone of these I betting.

Polaris can not keep production up with sales and they keep bringing out new models in three trim levels. I wanted to replace my Polaris XP1000 with a new one in Premium level trim. Dealers can not get them, so what is the point. I went to another brand.
That being said, a really nice review.

Nothing any other brand has even compares to this. Wow! There’s demand for a brand new released model and the dealers don’t have hundreds of them immediately? What a dumb comment.

If Honda or Yamaha would build a comparable rig I’d pay 60k for it. I live in the middle of nowhere Montana and our community lives off of our sxs’s. You’d beat a Tacoma to death trying to do with it like we do with sxs’s. Yes 50k is a hard pill to swallow, but a Polaris pill is even harder to swallow. Aside from their sleds, They’re yuppie junk.
