    Those hex head bolts will rust in no time. You should have got stainless hex head bolts instead. Also, since you drilled holes on the trunk you should have painted the holes because it is bare metal. The paint will prevent rustng in the future.

    AND, 3 years later in 2021 I just bought this for $149.99, I'll be using stainless buttonhead bolts, but great video. Mine will be on 2020 Mazda6

    1:45 Did you tap all the way through the glue/plastic for the front holes? Would it not go through the mount?

    I have the same kind of spoiler and I bought it off eBay and when it shipped the screws and bolts fell out so all I have is the spoiler and mounting brackets for it so do you know what size scews and bolts are required for that specific spoiler?

    Hey man, would you happen to have a better view of the wing on the car after install. Looking forward to one but would like to see how it looks from different angles

    Hey what’s the size of the bolts you got from Home Depot?

      I'm sorry, I forgot I brought the wing inside and used the measurement gauge they have hanging to determine the size. If I get a chance and find the extra bolts I have I'll let you know further. Thanks again for the support!

    Have you installed a rear diffuser with its own led brake light for a 2016-2018 civic? I don’t know which wires to tap and there’s nothing on google or CZcams on the wiring doing the wing was a breeze with this video but I wonder about a rear diffuser brake light.

    • @khmerz97
      @khmerz97  Před 5 lety

      I'll be doing another install within a week or so, and I can show you. With the third brake light you can tap into any of the existing wires on from the brake lights. There should be 2 wires power (green) and ground (blk).

    • @xjossee
      @xjossee Před 5 lety

      BENITH thank you! Will try that and if it doesn’t work, I’ll wait for that video.

    • @xjossee
      @xjossee Před 5 lety +2

      Just got the diffuser wired up and works fine. I got thick copper wire and used electrical tape to extend the wire reach all the way to the brake lights. I tried to use the wires in the trunk near the spare but for some reason, tapping into them wouldn’t work. So I used the ground cable In tail light for the black grounding cable on the diffuser light, the red cable on the diffuser light goes to the main brake light, and the white diffuser cable goes to the daytime light (i believe it’s white, kinda looks grey too but just find your daytime wire in the tail light. Pretty sure you already know all this but just in case you didn’t. :)

      Oh nice! I didn't know you wanted consistent power. I see what you did there. You wanted it constantly on as well as a brake function, right? Awesome man glad it all worked out for you. What's your IG? Would like to see pics

    • @xjossee
      @xjossee Před 5 lety

      BENITH yeah! I wanted it on whenever the brake lights would be running. It really makes my car stand out at night. My IG is a portrait page but I can dm you pics of my car on there. I started a new car page and I’ll be using my DSLR for car pics. My main page is @jsxmedia I’ll follow back.

      @khmerz97  Před 3 lety

      The support needs bolts, your package should have nuts/threads on the spoiler.

    I am NOT an auto expert but when you drill holes into your trunk, you better know what you're doing. My older brother did exactly the same thing and when it rain, water goes into the trunk.

      I believe you, I had grommets I put in as a weather seal. Usually all upper panels run into the roof channels, but so far no issues with the rubber grommet
