Right! Even the parts are similar. When I first started singing baritone in a quartet, my impression was, "ok, this is the viola part."

Johnson Baron Caveler Speaking as an orchestra player, the viola section’s usually considered the most expendable. They almost always essentially get the 2nd violin part-just with a slightly warmer tone. In other words, they seem practically useless to everyone else involved. I assume the same can be said for the baritone.

@@wolfchasing Yeah I heard Jackson was also feeling dissatisfied with the group and so it kinda naturally came to an end.
Good news is, they're still making music! Ryan is gone, true, but their new bari Kohl seems to fit in pretty well already, and they just uploaded a new medley the other day.
@@mephostopheles3752 Kohl Kitzmiller is the Baritone of Instant Classic, he's only a friend of the guys and they make things together but he is not the new Bari of the group ^^
NF4 are such a fantastic group, it’s awesome to see them improve vocally without sacrificing their very unique, established brand of humor. If anything, they turned it up a notch. It paid off, big time. Gold is within their grasp.
They're the weak anime protagonists of barbershop. They get stronger every time they lose

@@ofirnadel Ryan left the group mid 2020 for mental health purposes. Being in the group had taken a toll on him, as well as private issues between them.
@@ofirnadel Ryan left on good terms due to mental health and was later replaced, correct me if I’m wrong

i already know that many people have already pointed this out, but the newfangled four really did get more polished through the years. their chords lock harder, their comedy routines became longer and more confident. they must be proud to have left a strong and unique legacy on the barbershop community.

Every member of instant classic are such talented arrangers, and NF4 are fantastic at performing. They might not be the best strictly music-wise, but their stage presence and ability to tell a story with the song is unmatched.

Holy crap. The overtone when they slide into the last chord is crazy.
Bass - low 1
Lead - high 1
Bari - high 3
Tenor - high 5
Overtone - octave above lead on double high 1
Actually lead and bari I think are switched from what I said above
The only overtone I can hear is the 7
I can hear the double high one. It comes in just before the end for about one or two seconds.
What does this mean?
@@ZachJ367 an overtone is a note not sung but heard because of the vibrations of sound waves with straight tone singing (typical of barbershop). Without going too in depth and at risk of being wrong. The person above was placing notes being sung by the performers in the chord and then the 5th note heard but not sung.
Physics can be crazy cool.

Really creative with the changed lyrics, when I saw a song from [Title of Show] I thought it was gonna flow very weird, but this was wonderful!
If they got 5th (or above), Jake’s hand at the very end of the song, like he’s grasping the air, could symbolize them grasping success, and that top 5 finish they’ve been striving for. But it is what it is. A true tragedy, that’s what it is!
Newfangled four killed it. If they don't win I'm sticking to my guns and sending a strongly worded letter to the State of Florida

They should travel around and sing. I would totally go see them. They go for entertainment and beautiful voices. I think they are the best out of all of barber
They came out to Australia a few years ago to sing with other acapella groups! I hope they come out here again because it was so amazing to see them ❤

Maybe they didn't win Gold, but you can see the adrenaline rush in their faces at the end. They owned that stage and that audience and they knew it.

Its amazing the following they have. Most other videos are lucky to break 1000 views. They so doing 60k on videos that are a week old.
They have 10 to 50 times more views than the supposed "champions" - as it should be

Its such a good song, first time ever being fine with having a song stuck to my head!!!! Every time I listen to it and any other new fangled four song it makes me so happy, it makes me feel so good even if I feel bad. Everyone should listen to it, it would solve all problems on earth id say :D
It’s adapted from a Broadway musical called “[title of show]” and it’s brilliant that they chose it for this competition because the musical is all about sticking to your creative guns.
