Yes, she's done it to me too. Another beautiful event happened in interlocking Michigan in August of 2014. She's saying ghost in this house. And she was holding her fingers like the Yoga pose at the same time. Am I was while she was singing? We were in unity, it was heavenly.
When you see that smile on Dolly's face.... you know without a doubt that Alison nailed it.

Dolly's smile seemed completely forced and insincere. I have always loved and admired Dolly, but how can you expect her to be happy when a younger artist covers her song perfectly?
There is such a strong parallel in the sweet vibrates of Dolly and Alison. A duet would be lovely.
Yes, they both have the feminine, quavery vibrato in their voices that everyone seems to equate with heavenliness and angels.
Before I heard this, I thought it'd be impossible to top Dolly's original. Alison is simply amazing.

This version of Jolene is beautiful. Dolly did the original, but Alison has a lovely voice and does justice to the song. Thank you for posting this song.

Just watched/listened to a Miley Cyrus version. Her voice sounds flat and crappy compared to Alison Krauss's, so I respectfully disagree.

Miley Cyrus actually did an incredible job singing Jolene.
Alison Krauss has a perfect technique and great voice but Miley Cyrus gives way more sentiment to the song when she interprets it and has a beautiful voice too, just different. Obviously, Dolly is still the best, but I prefer Miley’s version compared to Alison’s.
I have always thought that Alison voice was that of an angel speaking directly to to me.

The best traditional rendition since Dolly recorded the original. I like Jack White's because it's so raw. Always interested in listening to new interpretations, because I love the song so much.
Seeing Dolly Parton enjoy this performance was just topping it.
Dolly really tried hard to smile and appear supportive, but Allison performed with every bit of talent, voice, timber, and quaver that dolly's original versiion included. Two absolutely phenominal talents that we are all lucky to see and here.

The only cover that I've ever heard of this that's as great as the original.
Proudmexica, I know a fair amount about country music. There is a lot of Spanish-Mexican influence in country music. It starts way back with the cowboy songs. And, yes, Alison Kraus sings beautifully. As does Dolly Parton, who wrote the song (and is seen briefly in the video).
I absolutely love the original, it's timeless. But Alison sings it so much better. One of the most beautiful voices of all time.
Alison does it perfectly with how she sort of trills that little part just like Dolly does (I'm beeeeegging of you.) A fitting tribute and happy that she didn't try to change it to suit her own agenda. Great rendition beautifully sung.
