- Installing the first ever set of Hester Edition Stage 4 Elka Shocks on my CFMoto Z950 Sport! I have been so excited about installing and shooting a series of videos featuring these bad boys! I go through the install and I also try to visually show you the difference by placing a GoPro focused directly on the suspension, both stock and the Elkas. I also included a split screen comparison so you can see how they work next to each other.

Awesome!! I just installed the Hester Edition stage 1 shocks on my UForce 1000 along with the offset A-arms, man what a difference!!! Worth every penny!!!
Completely agree! 💪🏼
Glad you love them! Massive upgrade and stage 1's are so wicked value for money! (cost less then stock shocks!)
@@HesterEdition that’s amazing!
@@HesterEdition I really do love them!
The Doors shirt alone is epic. I think I had the same or similar shirt back in 1983.... The shocks are a huge edition and you’re a lucky guy to be able to do this with them. The farthest I got was Bandit springs on my ‘17 Trail, but a huge upgrade it was in ride quality.
Love that shirt...lol. Thank you for watching, Kev! Appreciate you, brother!
I want some lol
Yes you do. Lol
I know where you can get some lol
Watching now!!!
🙌🏼💪🏼🙏🏼
They sure do look good on the machine
They really really do!
They look great. Loved the side by side video comparison 👌👏
Thank you, Phil! Appreciate you, brother 💪🏼🙌🏼
I've been building desert trucks and working on suspension for a long time so here's a quick rundown on your questions, those elkas seem to have a longer shaft stroke than the factory so they will give you a bit more travel, the front suspension is also dual rate so it will have better bump compliance and will be more adjustable with preload and stiffness, if those elkas are alloy they will dissipate heat SO much better than the factory shocks and will also suffer from heat fade a lot less as well. they probably have bottom out and top out zones too so when you are jumping your machine it will be a lot more comfortable and less damaging to other suspension components. Also, one way you can increase ride height and travel is by moving the Shock mounting tabs further towards the chassis because it increases the motion ratio at the expense of spring stiffness cause of the leverage the A Arms and Trailing Arms have. Anyways, i love the video and hope they treat you amazing!
Thank you for the knowledge and insight, brother! I’ve always just been too nervous to mess something up, I guess, so never really got into it a whole lot...but now that I’ve done these, I’ve been doing nothing but research so I can give informed updates. It’s not at all as difficult as I was making it out to be in my head. Lol
You are correct, then add in one more factor I worked in the mix, ALL 5 stages of our Hester Editions, we use the stage 5 2 stage Hi/Low speed compression stack, AKA Motocross set up, for a SPEED sensitive compression, plush at low speeds and as shock speed increases, as in a jump or hard jolt at higher speeds, the second stack kicks in and quickly ramps the compression valving. You have 2 shocks in 1 basically, you can ride slow, trail or crawler, then bam, BJ Baldwin trophy truck, all without touching a clicker. Icing on the cake!
I can’t wait to get my 🙌 on this set, hope it will be ready for sell soon, thanks Justin
Very welcome! I think they will be available soon!
Good video thanks for the information on the shocks
Thank you for watching, Buck! Appreciate you!
@@JustinTheCreator What was the name of the exhaust tip you put on your u800
@@unclebuck5957 it was one from Whiskey Bent Metal Worx. 2”, 45 degree cfmoto tip
Awesome man
Yeah...I like em. Lol
Looks good!
Thank you!
Hello, Where is the correct placement under the 950 for the floor jack? thanks.
I go under the hitch in the back where it meets the frame and I go right under the bash guard in the same spot in the front
Finely got to watch it 2:00 AM, duel stage makes the difference and looks like a stronger spring also. very much appreciated video., great to have a hands on approach before anyone shells out that kind of dough. You rule, keep up the good work and let Gary do the heavy lifting lol..
🤣🤣🤣 thank you, Mike! Appreciate you, brother! 💪🏼❤️ Lots more testing on the way!
Nice thing is Mike, we have 5 stages to fit all budgets and wants in suspension, ANY one of our stages makes the stock feel terrible! We have lots coming in, first sets should be in roughly mid May 2021 and do our best to keep in stock from there on out.
@@HesterEdition Thinking of a stage one if I can't get these figured out, not ready to order just yet, I lowered the air pressure in my aftermarket tires and already helped a ton. thanks I'll keep you in mind.
Yeah been looking at those shocks thinking about getting for my uforce 1000 well when I finally get to pick it up. Going to Maumee atv park for my first ride with it
The suspension makes the feel and handling of the machine night and day different. You should hit me up when you go! I’ll try to meet you out there!
@@JustinTheCreator Right on that would probably be a next year upgrade. Yeah I'm only about 35 mins from there. Yeah man that would be cool do a meet up and some riding.
@@MatrixSysTechftw I love going there to ride! I’m a bit further, but always make the trip. Lol. Just let me know and we will make it happen!
@@JustinTheCreator sounds good man will do. Have a good one
@@MatrixSysTechftw you as well!
Oh yeah. I tipped my rig on it's side the other day. It's a long story .lol. I had to order a new door skin. And just a couple little scratches on the side of my roof. But it's fine now. Lol. Maybe some time I'll see you out there somewhere. And I'll tell you how it all happened. Lol. It's all part of riding I guess some days are gonna test you more than others. Lol
I definitely want to hear that story! Lol
What is the price for stage 1 vs stage 2 for the 950 HO sport?
What’s the price for all four shocks
Depends on stage. I think they run $1100-2400
Nice! Hester is in my state and he is awesome with tons of knowledge! I have gone to him for several questions and was actually going to buy a Hester edition Kawasaki KRX and went ahead and got the 950. Do you know when these will be in production?
I am not 100% sure but I think within the next few weeks
@@JustinTheCreator I’ve contacted the only Canadian supplier for hester that’s in Manitoba and it’s 5K+ Canadian $ for the stage 5 setup
@@mitchelljaggard1364 😳😳😳
Chris, ORDER NOW!! They will be in (limited numbers) mid to late June 2021! We do have Stage 1, 3 and 4's coming in to start till more people get amped.
@@HesterEdition y’all should also sell a spring replacement for our stock spring
Does Hester make a better replacement spring? I just can't justify spending that much on new shocks. That would put my 950 in xp1000 price range. I backed my high speed compression way off, set tires to 9 psi and still a little stiff. Not bad but feel it should be better.
I’m honestly not sure. If you reach out to Hester’s Motorsports on FB, John will get back to you pretty quickly and let you know what he has available.
Justin have you tried any adjustments on the stock shocks at all I like them new Elka shocks but I'm not sure about the price I might fool around with my stock shocks. But I actually have trails that are really rocky so I have to do a lot of slow crawling. Thank you for the video. Then look awesome on your rig bro. God bless.
Thank you so much for watching! I did mess with the factory ones and couldn’t tell much of a difference. I’m interested to see if I will be able to notice adjustments made to these
@@JustinTheCreator yeah I'm interested to. If it's really that much of a night and day difference. Then I'm gonna have to get a set. It's my full out hobby. It's what I do. Lol. So I'll be watching for how much you really like those. Thanks justin. ✌
@@thomascornelius510 you got it!
@@thomascornelius510 We build in 5 stages of 2.0's and 1 stage of massive 2.5's to meet everyone's wants on shocks and every budget!
Great now how much do I need to spend
🤣🤣🤣 I’m not sure what the final price will be, but I put the contact info in the description 🤷🏼♂️🤣
@@JustinTheCreator my wife hates you....lol
@@wickedmainah950 🤣🤣🤣😬
@@JustinTheCreator they look awsome...another great video
@@wickedmainah950 thank you! Appreciate you 🙏🏼💪🏼
i’ll take your old shocks lol they should fit uforce1000
Great video Justin easy to update but is it worth the price difference as I will not be racing it this is just for trails and fun riding. Stay safe.
I really need to do some more testing before I can truly say whether or not it’s justifiable for those situations, but I can tell you I immediately noticed a huge difference in how the machine handles. Virtually zero body roll.
@@JustinTheCreator thanks and can’t wait for the updates on this. Stay safe.
@@tonymic988 will do. Thank you, bro! Appreciate you! 💪🏼🙏🏼
@@tonymic988 We build them in 5 stages of 2.0 and 1 stage of massive 2.5's, we make a shock for every budget! Several coming in Mid May!
Did you happen to check if you gained any height in travel?
I’m certain it has gained some suspension travel, but I will have to look at and study the video and do some more testing before I can say for sure.
We do max the potential of the 950, but they are already using every bit of room, we do have different travel numbers, biggest thing is valving, 2 stage high and low speed exclusive (normally) to only stage 5's, we run the stacks in all 5 stages! I wanted the best of the best possible with 6 levels of pricing!
man wish i was lucky to get free products..i’ll never afford them damn disability
Hopefully you will win one of giveaways I’m doing! 🙌🏼
@@JustinTheCreator hope one of them giveaways are for front bumper for a uforce1000 lol
