- In 2015, A huge event was organized in Kathmandu to launch Sagoon 2.0. Sagoon, a social gifting platform, said it was a revolutionary concept and made by Nepali people. Finally the day had come where Nepali were going to make big impact on IT field. Thousands of Nepali invested millions of dollar to support this made by Nepali platform. 7 years later, Sagoon has become irrevelant in online media, It barely makes any announcement these days and those investor who were promised that they will get millions in return are now stuck. This is the story of Sagoon.

One correction in the video - 9:53
Regarding Par value. Class C shares are not valued at $0.0001 because the company has set a par value at such. Even Class A and B are at the same value.
Par value should not be confused with other common stock values - such as “book value” and “fair market value.” Thus, if a corporation’s common stock has a par value of $0.0001 per share, the corporation would be in violation of its charter if it sold any of its common stock for less than $0.0001 per share. So, par value that you mentioned in the video is not the 'value' of the shares but it is the lowest price company is allowed to bring their unit shares with dilution. I would urge you to research that bit and put a 'correction disclaimer' in the video description so, it is absolutely credible and transparent.
One distinction between the classes of share is voting power and lock up period. And I agree with the rest of the video, I checked their 1-K SEC filings this company is in a dire situation. This is a total and utter charade! SEC should investigate this.
Also for your question on 11:01- they likely raised cash of 2.2M USD in 2021. Their cash equivalent for the year 2020 was only 364,000 USD after a year it was at 2.5M USD. So, about 29 crore Nepali rupee with the current exchange rate was most probably raised in this new 'Mini IPO''
Giri and the gang should be very aware that Thenaros was investigated when it was a private company and Elizabeth Holmes was charged with securities fraud. Last week Trevor Milton - Nikola - EV company's founder was also charged with false claims and wire fraud. Giris's talk at a capital raising event where he claimed about the app charging battery can be deemed as false and misleading to investors. Also that HT deal looks like a wire fraud to deceive the investors.
A couple of complaints from disgruntled investors and they are looking at the world of SEC raining down on them. SEC is not SEBON, they can bite!

Thank you for detailed information about Sagoon. These people contacted me back in 2014-2015. From day one, I was suspicious that it was a kind of spam. I heard similar stories of other companies in IT field who raised millions of dollars & later bankrupt.

My family members had invested in Sagoon and were in deep denial when I shared this video with them. They were saying Sagoon was still sending emails saying all these news were “fake” and not to trust these media. I couldn’t believe that even when these facts were laid out, they just passed it off as something “negative”…it’s kinda sad really..
How much did they invest in total?
CEO nowadays takes $1 as a salary and other income in buying stock to build trust to shareholder. But in this case, he take full income. That means he doesn't trust his own company.
Don't believe the 1$ hoax either. There's a lot of deep stuff about it, too lazy to type here. Do a search yourself.
They make money not as salary but according to the company share improvement which makes CEO to take a to make more money rather caring about their product or the user

i registered on sagoon back in 2015, it was such a hype because of some entrepreneurs i used to follow back then. $5000 ko investment ko A+ Mini Ipo kinnush bhanne EMail aairakhthyo 😂😂 but honestly I thought it will make an impact, like Nepali Facebook, but it was pretty much urban focused and nor could attract much of the non-urban people of Nepal! A good and honest and pro-nationalist wala marketing gareako bhayea chai sagoon would have been a Nepali Facebook bhanne chai lageako thyo!
If people are dumb enough to believe the fact that an app can charge your phone battery then they deserve to be scammed.
It shows how investors are idiots, anyone can find this information online if they do little research. I have joined Sagoon as Senior Software Developer, initially I was proud that i was working for nepalesse company for first time but soon I realised and quit that job. The information in this video is 100% true & still there are many things (not good) that’s not covered here.
I have become a fan of these investigative and informative bite size reports..awesome job..keep it up..even told my ageing parents to look at these as easier for them to understand in Nepali..a truly world class endeavour..all the best..

There is a simple industrywide formula for tech startups. How many active users do you have? And how fast is that user base growing? An active user is someone who uses your app at least once a month. If your user base is doubling every month, or every six months, then even if you are not making money, you are very likely to be a successful tech startup. I was involved with Sagoon for a few weeks in early 2015. I never got to see that data.

Could you also shed some light on the mass exodus of skilled manpower, like doctors, engineers, nurses, etc. ? Also how the Nepal government is willingly propagating this exodus of youth abroad, just so they can get a taste of that "remittance tax"..
P.S. Nepal is going to face a huge shortage of doctors and nurses in the coming 5-8 years. Even, reputed and established doctors are flocking abroad..... all the while, the policy makers do nothing to encourage the retention of this skilled man-power... Sahujis and influential doctors are themselves the policy makers and make policies that helps them gain their personal benefits....
