Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I was wondering 2 things:
How come after getting far into the combo you slow down and wait, and then sometimes speed up again? Is it a strategy?
And what does the exclamation mark on the right mean? I don't see the garbage you're sending popping up on top of their screen until it goes away. I thought the garbage was supposed to update on top as you create it?

1 - yeah it's a strat to get higher combod cause you don't wanna burn thru the 4 wide in one go incase the puyo player has a 6 - 8 chain ready
2 - the exclamation mark is just a warning bcs it will send a lot of damage, and tetris damage to puyo isn't sent until a block which doesn't clear a line is dropped

The way he has the piece falls down slowly while waiting for the other player to combo really sets in how screwed they are. I’m imagining Schezo staring down the opponent while they sweat, knowing they have no other option and they are getting destroyed either way. Wumbo: the only player that will welcome your combos

Keep in mind that the garbage lines help him extend his combos, and the longer he waits, the more garbage he gets.

the garbage would have sent to the opponent as soon as that piece fell so he wanted the opponent to waste his chains so the garbage doesnt cancel out when he sends it although it wouldn’t have mattered either way lol

Brollow tetris garbage is instant while puyo garbage is not. he wants the puyo combo to finish so his combo cancels out the garbage lines so he doesnt get insta killed before the puyo player slowly does.

No, it's so he can get garbage lines to continue his combo.
In response to both: I try to get hit again to extend my combo further. Without using garbage lines you can't get 20+ combos. I wait to send the final attack against puyo because of the way the damage system works. The red meter on the left fills up my attack power, and it doesn't send (release) until I drop a piece without clearing a line. The player that attacks last is rewarded in the pvt matchup if there are attacks countering eachother. For example if I released a 18 combo attack, then they set off a 10 chain, the countering mechanic makes the puyo player crush tetris, however if you release an 18 combo attack just after their 10 chain ends, it's basically even

It's 100% possible, with the right chain length and minimal garbage offsetting, to get that bar to the top when it starts going red.
The question I am wondering is if it changes colour after red? If so, what colour does it turn?
There really should be no limit to how violently the board shakes after an attack just so that the opponent knows how dead he/she is
