I love how Ferrari is recently being great everywhere except for their largest project, F1...
It's not their priotiry..or project since forever. They are forced to stay by sponsors and history bullshit.
F1 is crap since 2008.
we are checking
Yeah. i dont watch le mans I watch f1, and seeing "Ferrari pole" seemswrong
@@imibuks-replit you must have missed last f1 season then
@@godfather95mbs33that really went well didnt it? 😢
You’d think the WEC YT would upload this 😂, thanks for uploading. Hopefully they get these onboard cameras straightened out before the race
The WEC coverage has been terrible! There's no graphics of times for each class or nothing, just some clips or some shite slapped together
They're only great at post race with their usually ranging from 30 minutes highlights, 52 minutes highlights, and of course the full race replay. Other than that, they missout big time especially in this new era of Hypercar with their qualifying highlights format being the worst example of running a media platform.
@@fajar13k Yeah I really don't get it. Their post-race 30-60 minutes race highlights with interviews, pre-race briefings, team insights etc. is SO GOOD and you can SEE that it has quite a bit of production put into it.
Yet they can't do a proper ~ 10 min FP/Quali highlights like Liberty does with F1.
How's that even possible?
@@cantfindawayout there’s just more money in f1 to put it simply. If WEC actually had better highlights and stuff, it would help them to grow
@@rb0042 everyone agrees more media presence is better, but even grassroots racing series have better highlights packages than wec. Legit, all they need to do is snip highlights from qualy into a 5-7 minute long video like f1, that’s the perfect duration
love the whine of the engine when the car deaccelerates, great to see Ferrari back at Le Mans
its the electric motor recharging the battery
@@OscarZheng50 ; Interesting. Is that the normal sound of the electric motor? I don’t recall hearing that pitch on a F1 car.
@@jhans3278 it should be; the 2019-2021 Renault F1 car has similar onboard sounds too but could be due to mic positioning
It is not the engine and not the electric motor that makes the whining sound but the gearbox. the gearbox cogwheels are straight cut instead of angled or hypoid cut. Just search for "straight cut gears" here on youtube and you'll find more examples.

Pole lap even with the mess at 2:30 is very impressive. I’m sure Toyota would have had more of a run at them if not for the red flag
Yeah, I don't really think half an hour is long enough, especially for a track like this. I get that it's for TV, but if they doubled the sission length an hour isn't really that long but would give more time for drivers to really maximise their laps. They should also add 5 or 6 minutes if a red flag comes out as well.
I dont think they would've been able to beat ferrari. The bop hit them so hard. Unless they're sandbagging ...
mans name is literally FIRE, no wonder it's such a hot lap
Waited my entire life to see a Ferrari on pole at LeMans. Good luck for the race guys, give them hell.
Had not thought about it like that.
And they sure gave them hell!
I've driven this circuit so many times over the years on my PC, yet I can't get better than within 10 seconds of the best lap time!
I didn't know you could attack the second-last chicane so hard.
The first Ford chicane. Yeah, the suspension seems to take it really well, because you have to change direction so quickly after you come down off that curb.
It’s not new for the top class. Audi and Porsche are infamous for literally jumping at the 2nd chicane during the prime lmp1 years.
It’s crazy how he threw it in the chicane from the outside curb
@@sandalphoncpu I've played this track in video games many years ago (and not at a particularly high level)... so I know the general layout but was not really connected to the real-world driving limits.
This onboard shot 🔥🔥! You could feel the downforce in the first couple of esses.
yeah car is glued to the ground it's crazy
Great job. I hope we all get to experience an epic race😊
Forza Ferrari grazie ragazzi mille. I love the turbocharger configuration changes on upshift. Cool CPU work. Really have to have a small laugh at this as this is a comically quick lap. Gearbox sounds fantastic. Surely nothing could go wrong there.
Maybe some information about the car, the driver, the team, etc. Descriptions of the unfamiliar sounds. I have a feeling this year's race is going to be an instant legend. The Cup Car effort is going to bring many racing fans, guys like me that love pretty much EVERYTHING that races. I hope they have success.
i love the little squeak when it upshifts, so cute
impresive !!!!
I do wonder how fast all the Hypercar's would've gone without a BoP change to add weight. Remove the 24KG of extra ballast and that much could've been a second faster. Really would've liked to see them at their full potential, but oh, well. At least we got a really fast and flying session.
I completely agree. No reason the Toyota should be over 1 second slower than the Ferraris , that’s way off pace. And I’m actually rooting for Ferrari, seems a bit rigged. More popular for Le Mans if Ferrari wins
@@verde629 It had to have been skewed. The BoP was planned to go through Le Mans and then change, and then last second was swapped to add so much weight to the LMH's to make sure they were "closer" with the LMDh's instead of giving a larger boost of power to them, which the regulations state you can do beyond the 520KW limit if the current BoP is already in optimal spec for them.
@@verde629 They werent really a second off. Kobayashi matched Fuocos first sector before the red flag came out. Toyota just didnt find a good ininterrupted lap. After the red flag their tyres were cold. So it would have been much closer had the red flag not come out.
@@f1faith015 They literally were. You could see how fast the Ferrari was catching up to Toyota on the long straights
トヨタは勝ち過ぎた。欧州主催のレースで日本車が勝ち過ぎたからだ。
Let's hope for the win.
Insane!
....is the electric motor torque-filling during each gearchange above a certain speed? you can hear it briefly in the 5-6-7 upshifts
Can't believe how late they are able to break for corners!
wicked fast mannnn
My god that sounds so cool
I imagine a 3:22 couldve been possible had it not been for the traffic in the final parts. Still, what a lap
He is really throwing that car around, good job
Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
Sweet!!!!
I am a Ferrari lover from when I was a teenager, 60 years ago, and I am really thrilled.
ON THE LIMIT!! ❤️🥵
Tonino Fuoco is such a talented driver
Brakes are just amazing (drivers, team and machine too ^^)
🎩🎉Congratulations Ferrari!!
So fast that the inboard camera can’t keep up
Great Antonio!!!!!!
It's good that they used a camera from the 90's
What a brilliant Pole time by the #50 Ferrari #FerrariHyperCar after a absence of 50 years and making a return at the Le Man's Centenary

Hello!
It's amazing how the Ferraris flew over the track!
You notice the kilos more that Toyota has on board.
Between Toyota and Ferrari are 12 kilos.
But can the Italians manage the 24 hours?
The 499P has yet to prove that.
But what is already certain!
Race 4 of the WEC season 2023 and the WEC Ferrari team is already more successful than Ferrari in the premier class F1.
And, more importantly, the 499P was only built last year!
I think a lot will happen!
The starting rows 2 to 4 will not be uninteresting!
Toyota, Porsche
Toyota, Cadillac
Porsche, Cadillac
Saturday 4pm European time to Sunday 4pm European time, all questions will be answered!
You’re awesome lmao thanks for the run down
Thier ferrari engine can last 24hrs it proved in 24hrs of nurburgring and they won
@@kenethpescador206 Hello. I'm not just fixated on Ferrari! I am fascinated by the line-up of manufacturers and the drivers.
With 62 vehicles, it would be absurd to only look at the Italians. Although Toyota are my favourites, I'm looking forward to the competition. Just like the first races.
I didn't watch the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring because I'm only interested in motorsport, WEC, DTM, IMSA & Nascar.
I've seen DTM twice at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, I live 35km away from the Red Bull Ring. 2015 & 2022 DTM, and I saw the WEC for the first time on April 29th, 2023 in Spa. Planning to go back to Spa next year.
Next year, with Alpine back in hypercars, with BMW from IMSA in the hypercar class and Lamborghini, next year's WEC will go one step further.
Ferrari is a sideshow for me due to its presence in F1. I have the greatest respect for the WEC guys from Ferrari for being so brilliant here.
Ferdinand Habsburg (Austria) on the WRT team, I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'm also looking forward to seeing Ben Keating and the three ladies from Iron Dames meet.
Doriane Pin at Prema Racing is also great!
There is so much on offer here! There you would be, excuse the expression, stupid, if you only concentrate on one thing!
My biggest disappointments so far:
1) Glickenhaus &
2) Alpine in the LMP2 class.
Respect to Cadillac. The first time driving Le Mans. Too bad the Cadillac #3 caught fire.
And as I already wrote: Start rows 2 to 4 will not be uninteresting.
The question you can ask after Le Mans: What happens next with the regulations...
extra weight?
BoP?
electric blankets?
Now comes the 24 hour race. Hyperpole only shows how fast a car and the associated team is.
We'll see more on Saturday at 4 p.m.!
But I'll catch up on the race next week. Go to the cinema with my wife on Saturday.
Difficult enough as it is not to be spoiled by the internet!
Greetings from Austria!
Dude, stop hating Italians and give them credit, no one stopped Toyota from making their cars lighter!
It'd the first year back and they got pole. You got other makes out there who have been in WEC for years and not hot the top 5.
You just don't like Italians bro!
Yeah because AF Corse is a good team.
Maybe they should manage F1 too.🤷♂️

8 seconds off the lap record! I wonder what times they will be running at the end of The hypercar era
Garbage hypercars
+100 kg for you next year my friend
At the beginning of the LMP1-Hybrid era Le Mans poles were around 3m23 (Audi R18 e-tron quattro 2012) and 3m21 (Toyota TS040 Hybrid 2014), before the LMP1 hybrid reaching their top specs/potential and doing pole positions between 3m19 (Porsche 919 hybrid 2016) and 3m14 (Toyota TS050 hybrid 2017).
So hypercar might go as fast if the regulation allow them to reach such performances like they did with the LMP1-hybrids.
Almost same times, the Bop always controls performance

24 heures ! 🤫
Those braking points are insanely late. I mean, in much slower GTE cars you would brake several car lengths earlier before each corners, especially after the loooong straights... Incredible
In Free Practice they were lifting before the 200m boards at each chicane, I guess that's what they'll do during the race as well, or the brakes would disintegrate after a couple of hours.
@@FrankyRZK Due to energy per lap regulations. The brakes aren't cheap.
#Fuoco... a fuoco! sono tutti vicinissimi nel giro secco però....
If it's anything like F1, this 1-2 in Qualifying will mean absolutely nothing come race day.

This is the Le Mans 24 bro, starting grid position is pretty much irrelevant for everyone.
It's nothing like F1. So...🤷♂️
That picture breakup would never occur if it was an Australian system on board.
Hope they improve the quality of these cameras 'cos it really looks poor and laggy
Is this car in LMP class or LMH class?
it is lmh, lmp class has dead since 2014

It sounds Great this v6. But a V12 remains king
Telemetry would be a good addition
If you had to use one word I`d say, Violent.
Just hope they do not ruining the race... Like 6h spa😅 before
Had to check my video wasn't on 1.5x speed 👀
Well, it looks rapid - he has given everything he has, but considering it's still 8 seconds slower than Kobayashi did in 2017, makes it apparent, how slow the hypercars are 🤷🏿
What’s the top speed these hypercars get on the straights?
It's about 340km/h
Why not upload the recorded footage instead of the live footage?
Or is this like a licensing issue where you're only licensed to upload onboard footage?
Do you mean the live broadcast with commentators, multiple cars, etc? Because yes, unfortunately I am not allowed to upload that. Even this video I was worried it would get a copy right so I made some adjustments.
So happy for Ferrari, they looked to be struggling when I was watching the early session, 1.5 off Toyota
How, in 2023, there are still laggy onboard cams? Man, 80's vibes meh
Compared to some videos of Group C and GT1 that I have recently watched this sounds like a broken blender.
But way faster (at least than gt1) Compare the lap times.
But will it survive 24hrs?!!
This Hawaii 50 sure can spin a quick lap but the race is the toughest most brutal endurance street circuit on the planet, so pole means very little as Jacky Ickx proved at the start of the
1969 race when he famously staged his own one-man protest by walking to his car, and taking his time doing up his seat belts and havong started last ended up winning the race. What are the odds for both Ferraris breaking and retiring before sunrise in the rain on Saturday night ?
Given the car has already completed several 24 hour tests prior to Le Mans, I reckon they are in good shape to getting at least 1 car to the finish.
I hope they last the race and if by any miracle win it Ferrari would be the appropriate team.
Well the same engine just won both pro and am sp9 (gt3) classes at the nurburgring 24hrs in the 296s
@@dylanburston7453 Yea, hopefully they don’t Ferrari it 😂
@@SSKARTING Isnt F1 mate, an the trackside team isnt even Ferrari

Hope that the Ferraris are more reliable than their video recording system.
And this was with lap traffic!?!? Wow. Toyota is sitting on pace though not outright speed. Don’t read too much into this
About the quality: i noticed that in sound and vision, the quality of the feed is worse than it was last year. More lag, breaks in vision and drops in sound. Don't know why. Maybe bigger trees, or they are full of leaves, antennas. don't know.
I thought the pole time was 3.22.982
antonio was literally on fire 🔥🔥
Это действительно очень быстро
I thougt the Polelap was 3:22,9
3'24''198 still not the 3'14'791 that was set by Toyota in 2017 and not 3'17'297 in 2019 race. So its interesting what lap times toyota will show in race mode) i dont see real dominance in ferrari right now... And of course the main question - will it survive 24 hours? win pole its not same as win the race)
Crazy to think that Ferrari is beating the Toyota with a car that haven't even complete a full season yet, and Toyota is going for their 3rd year in those regulations. It could be the fact that they had no competition at all in those past years? Who knows... Anyway, mega job by Ferrari.
BoP penalized a lot for Toyota
