Overpowering Femto through traditional means as of now is close to impossible Guts has to break his mind and soul some way. As for the Idea of Evil, I don't think it can ever be killed only defied. Guts continues to struggle he was supposed to die at the eclipse as proclaimed by fate but he fights on. In a way, he's proving the Idea of Evil is wrong and mankind does indeed have a shred of power over its free will. This is how I interpret the story but each their own.
