A Cozy Autumn Day In My Life | Ordinary, simple day at home in October | Pumpkin soup recipe

- An ordinary, cozy day alone at home in late autumn.
I've been travelling this path month, so life seems a little bit more dull after having too much visual and mental stimulation. Days are simpler, doing mundane things, getting back to work and to daily routine. They're kind of boring. But kind of lovely at the same time. I hope you enjoy this slow living video, spending one day at home alone with me.

Pumpkin soup:
1 whole pumpkin (medium size 1.5-2kg)
1-2 red onions
1 whole head of galic
1 tsp of cumin, curry powder, sweet paprika, oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
500-750 ml water or veggie stock
4 heaped tbsp of plain coconut yoghurt or cream (or 1 tin of coconut milk)
Optional - 8g sliced ginger (or 1 tsp dry ground ginger) + zest and juice of 1/2 orange (or lemon)
Cut pumpkin into wedges, onions in half and trim garlic tops. Put veggies on a roasting tray, sprinkle with salt, pepper and olive oil. Roast at 240 C / 464 F for 30 minutes until pumpkin is soft and gets easily pierced with a fork.
Let veggies cool down, then scoop out pumpkin, and add in a big pot together with roasted onion and garlic (squeeze it out of a bulb). Add orange juice, zest, spices, ginger, salt, pepper and liquids. Heat up for about 5 mins just to let ginger (if using fresh) cook slightly. Blend with an immersion blender, adjust salt to taste (always start with less salt, and then add gradually to avoid oversalting). Add coconut yoghurt, blend again.
Heat up for another 5 minutes and it's ready to serve.
Garnish with more coconut yoghurt (I mixed mine with water to thin it out), sunflower or pumpkin seeds and chili flakes.
Tip:
I used a regular pumpkin, which has a higher water content. Ideally, I like to use a denser type of pumpkin (like Hokkaido) as it gives a creamier and sweeter texture to the soup. You can try that if you like, or just stick to a regular cooking pumpkin.

Aah thank you so much! 😌 That’s so true, sometimes when we experience some highs in life, it’s difficult to go back to normality. But in fact, normality, routine - that’s what’s beautiful and needs to be cherished the most. The highs come and go, but we have to live at peace with our ordinary selves most of the time.
You make even the slow and simple days seem very beautiful and very cozy, how lucky we are to live a completely uneventful day, where nothing much happens, but we get to exist in relative peace with no tragedy, I know there is a quote that goes like this, and it's true. We are lucky for the quiet days as much as the amazingly stunning ones, and we can rest hopeful that more trips to the mountains will be in our future. Thanks for sharing.

I have discovered you and totally relate to you not the showy bloggers who use their sites as one big money spending advert. You are truly refreshing and I am not showy or competitive and love nature having grown up in New Zealand. I have a river walk near me every day and love natural foods and the seasons. I like wearing dresses and skirts rather than knee torn jeans which everyone seems to wear. I am not a trainers person either. The classic stories you read are wonderful. Where we live at the moment there are not much beauty as it is a mining town...but if I lift my eyes to the mountains around us there is breathtaking beauty...Before we moved here in January we had always lived in very beautiful places in the countryside...I took beauty for granted...now I have learned to seek beauty and also that if we do seek it it is there, closer than you think...

Of course you should show ordinary life! It's what is most relatable to most people. There is beauty in everything if we choose to see it and make it so.
Baking tends to require more precision for success, but I'm the same way with cooking. I don't measure anything. I mostly use my imagination and taste as I go along. Thank you for sharing your recipe for pumpkin soup! It looks delicious and I'm sure it was!
P.S Brewer's Yeast Powder if full of B vitamins and has helped me grow my hair as well as prevent fall out. Take a tablespoon a day in juice or whatever you like.

I live in upstate New York and though Halloween is not a favorite of mine, I do decorate for fall and pass out candy to all the little ghosts and goblins they stop🎃🎃. Loving these last few days of October and almost all of the leaves have fallen and soon time to cozy our home for winter. Love your recipes and rarely are any of our perfect 😂

The apple trees are so full this year, lots of pumpkins, gourds and so many have put out fall decorations. My next favorite season is winter, the cozy time of year for an introvert like me. The snow is so beautiful, cozy candles, warm blankets, socks, mittens and good books plus I love decorating for a very simple, primitive Christmas

Hi, Daria. The dress is charming) I got showered with memories of being a 10 year old watching "Charmed" with friends. We all would pick a witch character and pretend to have superpowers. Playing outside freezing time and stopping things in the air. We would collect all possible merch we could find at that time, like posters and pocket calendars. There was a competition on how many items each girl would find)

The only thing I would add to your videos would be a little more real sounds than what you film in nature, fragments without music, and when you add it, reduce the volume a little, because the scenarios you film are spectacular, it is worth listening to the creaking of the leaves, the birds, the water, and even the wind!

The quickest way to grow your hair is to not wash it. Leave it at least a week at a time, longer if you can. You can use a bit of dry shampoo on the top to make it look ok in bet washer 😊

They are very similar in tone, though the stories take place in different periods.
I don’t like recommending books, but another book I group with those is Enchanted April.
With Rebecca I associate Lorna Doone because they are both mentioned in The English Patient, also Kim by Rudyard Kipling.
