    Just installed my 3rd Razorback. Followed your advise on the step drill - love how clean it cuts.
    You mentioned 2.5 inches in from the edge of the cover. I measured 6 times (measure six - drill once) and the right center of the belt was at 2.75 inches in. Center of the belt was 2 5/8 inches in. Not a big difference, but good for everyone to measure their own machine just to be sure.

    • @SXSBlog
      @SXSBlog  Před 5 lety

      Dude this is so funny. We just replaced the inner cover on my X3 and Doug measured 2.75" and I said "dude, wasn't it 2.5"?" LOL I guess we were wrong in this vid.

    if you pull the next panel up on the tunnel (the one to the left of the passengers legs) you'll see that the tray you drilled into to run the wires doesn't actually go all the way to the wall of the tunnel. There is actually a space above that tray, and you can feed wires through above the tray from the tunnel without drilling holes. I have my Rugged Radios kit mounted up there and have all my wiring fed through there to the headsets and PTT with out drilling any wires. The two wires for the Razorback should fit in there without any issue.

    • @SXSBlog
      @SXSBlog  Před 6 lety

      Are you paying some sort of import fee Mark? Shipping to the UK should be under 50USD.....

    • @markwalford9237
      @markwalford9237 Před 6 lety

      There will be some sort of import fee, this depends on the declared value of the parcel. Shipping @ $50 doesn't seem to harsh. Just goes to show that some companys aren't willing to go the extra mile and just nail people with horrendous shipping

    • @markwalford9237
      @markwalford9237 Před 6 lety

      Just checked with Customs. So the gauge is $299 + $50 for shipping . But unless it is declared a gift with a value of less than $177 and not sent from a company, I get charged VAT @ 20% on the $299 + the $50. So another $70 on top. Making it a tad over $400 for a temp gauge. WHich even with a discount from the guys at Razorback makes this a bit uneconomical. Which really sucks, as it looks like a great bit of kit

    Here's a tip. Cut that plastic by the handle to move ur seat. Then u can take seat in and out. With just the four bolts. U don't have to take all the set brackets out.

    • @jeremyghodge
      @jeremyghodge Před 6 lety +1

      Don't cut the seat. The rubber tip on the seat adjuster slides off by pulling the top of the piece towards the front the vehicle and down. Loosen the four bolts, then rotate the seat and slide it overt the handle of the seat adjuster. To be honest though, just as easy to remove the 4 bolts they did than to remove the seat bolts. And you have to be easy on those, they are pretty easy to cross thread, and in reality, need to be cleaned and re-locked with thread locker of some type if you want to do it right.

  • @JayJay-ig6tp
    @JayJay-ig6tp Před 6 lety +1

    Why dont they just make a clutch cover that has fans on it that way it will cool the belt

    • @SXSBlog
      @SXSBlog  Před 6 lety

      The clutches have fins on them to move air through the cover far beyond what most high flow fans can do. For example the team clutch'd Wildcats will flow 240cfm at 7000rpm via just the clutch fins. I've heard (but not seen measured values) that the X3 flows much more than that.
      Despite the air flow the belts can still be overheated. The gauge is there to keep your driving in check so you're not stuck cleaning a hundred thousand belt chunks out of the clutches.

Under WARNINGS, I won’t go through it all here but I do think you need to tell people, not to use ZIP ties!!! And to keep the wire to the gauge away from any other wires that could possibly interfere with the proper readings of the gauge itself!!! PLEASE DON’T GIVE OUT BAD INFO!!!! But I still LOVE you guys!!!! All the way from the Philippines JD!!!!Thanks guys

    • @dougbutterfield5505
      @dougbutterfield5505 Před 6 lety

      This is a real world install video. The provided signal wire is well shielded and this routing has no issues with any sort of EMI, nor have we seen that issue on any razorback install we've done. There is also nothing wrong with zip ties if installed with an ounce of common sense. We build thousands of high end cars / trucks every day using them to constrain wires, both signal and power.
