  • Hello There!
This video is a rediscovery and reinterpretation of some reels on the Make Noise Morphagene, I couldn’t remember when I’d made these reels and I really enjoyed experimenting with them again, with the use of the wonderful Mutable Instruments Beads to create some new ambient soundscapes, enjoy!
I’ve been travelling for the past two weeks, so lookout for a series of videos coming in the next few months, with music made on the OP-1 inspired by some of the beautiful places I visited in France! Also, the next video planned is an OP-1 Field Sampler sort of walkthrough video, which I know one or two people had expressed interest in, so lookout for that soon too!
Anyway, thanks for coming along, MM.

Thank you! I certainly do, so I’m glad you noticed! I feel like I’m gradually improving with each video, so hopefully that’s the case, quite happy with the most recent video, and the next few I’m working on too!

It's either a really good sign or a really bad sign that you can't remember these reels lol. For me, I take it that you have enough of your own patches and samples that you've forgotten some. I aspire to have such a large repertoire that I never run out of my own samples to mess with. This video is very inspirational!

Ha! Thanks, I do hope it’s a good sign! I do have to keep checking how many reels Morphagene can hold, when I want to create new ones or load something onto it, and I do have to go on and delete old ones every now and then, I guess it’s partially good record keeping of reels and samples etc, and also the continuous creation of new, interesting & exciting sounds/samples/recordings! But I’m glad I could offer some inspiration, that’s what this is all about! Showing my experimentation and hoping to inspire along the way 😀

Another beautiful soundscape. Do you happen to remember if you changed the Gene Smooth option in the firmware? Manual says changing setting to 1 places a fade in/out envelope on the genes. This sounds so smooth throughout that I'm wondering if you're using that setting?

Hey, thank you! I think I am, to be honest it’s been awhile since I delved into the settings, but I remember setting this, and I suspect I’ve left it on, I think I prefer it like that, as with Beads where you can have a square envelope, or a smooth one, I think it often sounds nicer with the smooth fade in/out

Actually I had a great time exploring the Arbhar recently, I’ve got a couple of videos/pieces that I’m editing at the moment with it, but in general I think I prefer, Morphagene and also Beads, Beads because it’s more real time, whereas Arbhar isn’t really. I’ve been travelling a bit recently which is why I’m a bit behind on video editing, but I managed to film some cool stuff in France, which will also be coming soon! (After the Arbhar videos I think)
