AWESOME review, thank you so much pal. You have answered some of questions and doubts about what Mac Mini should I pick, cause I was so confuse between a MacBook Air M2 and a Mac Mini, I was thinking too much about the portability and all these stuffs, but most of the time I use my notebook in my desk, so maybe it's a good idea to invest a little less in the Mini one and have the same amount of performance! Thank you again, a great video with a content million of others in CZcams don't have.

Hey I just entered the world of Mac Mini & got my 1st M2 Mini. loving it so far & it's great to be able to set it up the way I want - refs better value imo then the MacBooks tho I have an iPad Pro for portability but agree this is such a good deal. i reccomend no less then 16 gigs of ram and no less then 512 ssd and do all your editing on run most programs from a good fast external thunderbolt drive ssds have alimited lifespane for TBW and the smalkler the drive the lower the number the less time it lasts and if you only have 8 gigs of ram but went bigger ssd your internal ssd will die fast because of not only your files on the drive but youll almost me 100% of the time into swap which is going to eat the life out of your ssds

I would like to get the base model of the Mac mini M2. I have already a MacBook M1 Air connected to my Dell 34” monitor. But would like a dedicated desktop form factor and free up my laptop. You think it make sense?

Definitely the MacBook Mini is the better deal for those that don't travel for work. I looked at putting everything together around the MacBook Mini and comparing it to a 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage M2 Air.
- The M2 MBA costs $1,600.
- M2 MBM $1,000 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage + $310 for a 4k Samsung 27-inch monitor on Amazon + $200 for the magic keyboard & mouse. Total $1,510!!!!
Someone who does not want to carry around a laptop ends up saving more money.
Consider it again if you have already a monitor or an HDTV and keyboard&mouse.
Plus, instead of upgrading ssd you may use an external ssd. You may install windows & store the required documents and hey it's portable.
the imac tho has 4.5k screen and to get even something half decent in 4k which will suck compared to the imacs dispat is still going to cost you alot of money ...
I have a I-Mac 27 inch 2009 that is no longer supported by Apple. The system works just fine. Is this M2 Mac Mini unit able to be hooked up to the current I-Mac just as a monitor without deleting any of the current information. I also assume a few cables is all that would be needed. I assume again that all the current software is installed on the new unit.

Is this right? I have a 2016 Thunderbolt Display and was going to connect this with a lightening 2 to 3 connection. I’d be pretty annoyed if that didn’t work.
Nearly got the M1 version a while ago, but persistent reports of bluetooth glitching put me off. Any idea if that's fixed now?

Word, Pages, Excel, Numbers Adobe Acrobat Reader, Chrome, Safari, Textedit.... these apps are simultaneously open on my computer at one time. In this case Base model with 8GB RAM is enough?
Close some apps - opening an app takes a second or two. You can't be working between all of those at the same time. Plus, closing and opening an app allows it to reset and eliminate accumulated junk = better performance.
M2 Mac mini with 16 Gb ram and 512 SSD strikes me as the sweet spot ($1,000 US). Nice monitors cost under $300. Keyboard under $100. Add external memory later (SSD in an external case for $100-200 depending on what you get). Mouse $50,
I started looking Mac mini. Then all CZcamsr advice add Ram and SSD is essential then the price range reach to a MacBook Pro. So easily falling into Apple’s rabbit hole 😂
Get RAM, and external SSD. ✌️

It's not that easy finding a screen that works directly with the Mac Mini. I have a 2017 iMac 27-inch display with available USB-C Thunderbolt 3 inputs. I figured that would be my 2023 M2 Mac Mini monitor. I was wrong--Apple made sure to cripple the connection and it's a total no go. How about my 2021 MacBook Pro 16" laptop screen. Plenty of available USB-C Thunderbolt 3 inputs and even and HDMI port. Not as nice as an iMac screen, but any port in a storm, right? Guess again. Apple again made sure to cripple that connection too; another no go. I don't want to buy their overpriced and no-LED Studio Display. The good news? The return window for that M2 Mac Mini is still open....

with 512 GB ssd = $999
Lenovo Legion 5, 16GB, 512GB, Nvidia 3050ti = $900
I bought it in 2021 because I got tired of waiting for Apple because I needed a configuration of three external monitors, the graphics is twice as fast and the cpu is somewhat more powerful. Ohh, and it has an integrated keyboard and screen and supports three external monitors.

@@gustavogarcia5823 Yes you're right, I realized at the end but the base model is very limited and as he himself says, it would be necessary to increase at least more ram. And I don't know how much space it gives on the ssd after installing macOS and system data so there isn't much left to use for years because over time one installs one or another software.
