Do you have any tips for the timing? When i strum at full speed or half while counting i becom spaghet
Slowing it down definitely helps and also playing along to the recording can help with getting the feel. There might be something getting in your way you don't notice, so make sure the strums are in the right direction, take a look at your pick technique, and stuff like that, hope that helps!
Would you recommend beginners to play the G and Em with the index finger or the way you play it?
It really just depends on what's comfortable for you, but I find the way I play it makes it easier to switch to other common chords :)

This is my first song I’m gonna learn and I’m having trouble but I think I will get it. Is it okay for me to use my fingers and not a pick as a beginner? I don’t wanna wreck my fingers but I like the feel of it.

I learned it by playing along to the cover on this channel over and over. (You just have to know she did it in a different key than this tutorial. Maybe she will say what that is. Anyway, that helped me with the timing.)
It's at about 178bpm! And my cover is in the key of C instead of G :)

Yeah not bad! There are definitely slightly easier ones out there but this one should be doable as a first song

Sorry to hear that! It might be helpful to watch some videos on how to strum and play different chords first. There are a lot of great channels out there for learning the basics :) I remember learning a lot from the Mahalo channel when I started, but that was a long time ago so I don't know what's good now a days. I'm happy to know if you'd be interested in me making some other specific content though! I'd be happy to make some "learning the basics" type videos sometimes if you'd like :)

Idk why but when i play the D chord at the end it sounds very weak, unlike the song and yours. Probably just a skill issue
