    For someone who doesn't want to purchase a projector, using carbon paper or the chalk transfer method for the text would be a great option 😉
    I don't have the best handwriting so I use this method anytime my project calls for text.

    I guess I should add that I would make it myself but it would be a hot mess. Whatever you guys come up with always looks professional.

    Hi Ladies - new to your channel and I am loving your works of artsy fartsy! I have been looking to purchase some lanterns, but have you priced them lately? I have also researched CZcams for DIY on the lanterns and there are many great ideas. My husband and I just started building and have made a gardening, console and coffee tables using Ana White's plan. Simple! And that how we got stared and loving it! My request to you beautiful Ladies - would you please consider making them with a simple plan and wood scraps (which we have plenty of) but if we have to purchase, we will. I do have to let you know that the only tools we have at this time is a miter saw, drill, and Kreg Jig (which have become my favorite).
    Thank you Ladies - from a Amateur and her husband 😀

    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm right in the middle of making this sign. It's also a HUGE bonus that my kids have an awesome projector to watch movies on, they love it! (I didn't think a projector this size would be very good quality but it is). Curious if you have any good plans for a sign that could go in the empty space that a lot of people, including myself, have above their kitchen cabinets? It's so bare up there and I'm at a total loss on what to put up there that looks nice. Maybe something that is about 3 feet wide and painted white/stained with a rustic look, not sure what it would say. You guys have great taste so thought you might have some ideas. Thanks again!

    LOVE this tutorial. I always look forward to your new videos.
    Something to consider: I wondered why the cost of this sign was so high even though you said you included the cost of the projector.....$89 for the projector, so really the cost of the sign is about $30 which is much more affordable!! If you bought a new sander or other tool, would/do you include that cost into the cost of the project? Plus there are other ways to get large letters...Silhouette, Cricut or some other type of cutting machine....or even print large lettering on your printer.

    • @shanty2chic
      @shanty2chic  Před 7 lety

      Doxie C thanks! Yes, there are other ways but we chose to focus on this way. A projector is very simple to use and you don't need vinyl etc..... we don't consider the cost of tools generally but we felt that because this was a special tool and not a shop tool that we would include it in the cost.

    A BETTER IDEA, go to home depot buy masonite board (not heavy like plywood) the masonite board can be framed using frame clips to attach to board. Just paint and hand write its more personal and it does not have to be perfect or printed unless you want to spend extra and make alot of signs.

  • @sandywilliams6677
    @sandywilliams6677 Před 7 lety

      Sandy Williams we stained the boards before we attached them. Sometimes we can't cram everything into the videos but we always share every detail in the post and the plans on our site. We link to them in the description box under each video. Hope this helps 😀😀

    • @BrittanyBauman90

      Samonja Holland you can do a cut out and paint the empty space. CZcams has great how to videos!

    What a great idea, to use a small projector... Can anyone with artistic abilities tell me how to get the crisp outer lines on the letters? I am afraid that my painting skills would make the letters look I was doing jumping jacks while painting... 😲

    Great video ladies. I wish that you would think about using "unladylike like" words. It's not cute coming out of your mouths. (Artsy f.......). Just know that more than some people are offended. Your video would have been better without those words. You are indeed beautiful girls.

      When did saying "artsy fartsy" become an offensive term?! 🤔 🙄
      Now telling someone that they can't be themselves bc you don't like it....that's offensive.
      Keep being you, girls - Love your work 💜
