This is the JBL Xtreme 3, and here are 5 things you need to know before you use this speaker.
First, the sound that comes from this speaker is quite tremendous. The bass comes in very powerful but not super boomy so you are going to be getting above average sound which will make it feel more alive and fill up a room a lot more.
Secondly, the battery life is pretty good! The battery will last you around 15 hours which is plenty of time to have throughout the day to enjoy your tunes! If it dies on you it will only take about two and a half hours to charge.
Third, this speaker can be taken anywhere! It has an IP67 resistant rating which means that you can fully emerge this speaker in water as well as being dust and sand proof so you will have no problem taking this thing out on the beach or pool, even being able to clean it after a day out.
Fourth, it comes with JBLs party boost function! What that means is that you and your friends that have JBL speakers can easily connect them all and have them all playing the same song! How many speakers? Up to 100!
Lastly, this actually has a lack of features. It has no google assistant, alexa or siri support at all which is kind of a bummer for a speaker this price. Not even wifi support or even some EQ support, so this speaker just works as a Bluetooth speaker and that’s it.

@@komradzz3665 X2 ment to be better never heard the X2 but do have the Xtreame 3 and it's not good at thw higher volumes! The bass disappeares after say 40 50% I switch back to my sony for top end bass

The Jbl extreme 3 is a man's toy with big sound than other speakers out there and also the hottest thing around lightweight water/dust resistant.
How’s the bass?

Hi man! Gr8 video, very infornative. It says that it´s louder when plugged in. Does hooking it up to a battery bank charger mean it´s "plugged in". Is that enough juice to get the sound boost? Have a good one! /JL
Before buying this product, you should know something. When using as a portable, you're not getting the FULL 100 WATTS! Only when using the a/c cord in a wall outlet, you'll get full power.
I wish more reviewers would remind customers of this. In actuality, probably more like 60 watts. If portability & sound is your thing, you may want to pair 2 charge 5 in stereo, or spend the extra $ & get the BOOMBOX 3.
The boombox also reduces the power when unplugged

Please how is the Bass when is in Max volume ?
I'll be honest, it's not crazy bass like car audio you can feel but it sounds reasonable for the size. We hooked it up to the smart tv and it sounded loud enough in the living room theatre style. I was impressed. But it all depends what you like. You want something crazy loud then you gotta get something else/bigger.

I'm just judging off of my extreme too compared to my flip 5 it's a big difference and sound and Bass I like the flip though when I'm like walking I guess it's on the traveling yeah you can argue and say there's a shoulder strap but then I feel like I'm lugging around a little suitcase or something

@@collinsnicky1202 it definetively is the best JBL speaker, i have partybox on the go flip 5 and jbl xtreme 3 and tested charge 5 vs sony xg500 the straps to carry the xtreme 3 make it the best for me, soundwise the only one that beats it for it size is the boombox 3. Sony speakers have no chance against jbl speakers.
How do you plug a guitar into it?
@@mykotron you use a pedal effect and connect the aux jack into the amo and it sounds better than a guitar amp more clear notes.
Sounds a WHOLE lot better in real life. Just got one ans will be buying another soon.

I have the flip 6, when I use it with my mp3 player outside the volume leaves something to be desired. Can I expect to get much more volume with this speaker?
Definitely cause this one is around 50w or above RMS & flip 6 is only 30w…also if you have the flip 6 then you can use partyboost feature to get total of 80w RMS sound as the boombox 2 with less bass
Does anyone have information on how long the battery lasts with continuous playback at full volume. a lot of times these things say 15 hours with zero context on testing measures
Can you plug a wireless microphone receiver into it?
I find my extreme 3 sounds odd,thin bass but using the hidden EQ in Samsung smartphones forces it to sound great.
You do realize it has its own built-in EQ right??

@wallyveniotrocker1000 You can adjust its internal EQs by pairing it through "JBL Portable" app on your mobile phone. It makes a lot of difference from its out of the box settings!! I was very disappointed with its default sound quality till I hit upon the app and changed the EQ settings to my liking!!

If you can get the boombox 1 in my opinion it’s better the bass on the boombox 2 kills the battery life quicker it’s good for house parties but not constructions sites haha
I know this was commented 5 months ago but I have a boombox 2 and absolutely love it. If you get the boombox 2 you can also get the xtreme 3 in the future and pair them with partyboost. Which is what I'm thinking of doing.

If you wanted a cheaper option, I wouldn't go for the Flip 6. I would go for the Charge 5 instead. The Flip 6 in terms of sound and bass, sounds thin in comparison.

Im working in construction there was some guy with xtreme 3, they are way more powerful but you have to put it on power. played with accu its not a big difference with charge 5

Yep it's worth getting. I've had both xtreme 2 and 3 and in my opinion the xtreme 3 is better in sound quality and the bass is much more better. Plus on xtreme 3 you can turn up and down Bass Triple sound and mids sound in the jbl portable app. You sadly cant on the xtreme 2

Have the extreme 2 and the battery lasts nowhere near 4 hours never mind 15. Love the sound but drops signal from my iphones far to many times for my liking. As soon as the homepod 2 comes out my extreme 2 is going.

@@theraphshady1465 we are reaching those numbers if you play within 25-50% volume. It's a decent volume btw, and that's loud enough for a 4x5 sqm room
Correction, extreme 3 has an eq but it's not the best so far. Overall the JBL extreme 3 is good but it's too expensive! There are better bluetooth speakers out there it the market.

Other features that are better than the extreme 3 are: battery life and app. And it's way cheaper than the extreme 3. The extreme 3 bass only beat the motion boom bass when you playing it on AC mode.

It's crap top end! Looses all It's bass over 40% great at that level any louder I go back to my sony XB501G for the bass the jbl just seems to transfer to loud as heck tweeters at high volume don't like it as much as my sony! I'm sorry JBL, I love you guys. You guys make the best speakers out there, but this speaker is not worth it. It is only 3 notches louder than the JBL charge 5, and only 15 hour battery life compared to 20 hour battery life on the JBL charge 5. This speaker is 350 dollars compared to the JBL charge 5 which is only 180 dollars. That is big money difference and the size of the JBL extreme 3 and charge 5 is a huge difference. I expect this speaker to be quite louder than charge 5, but it's just not. Now the JBL boombox 3 is perfect, yes it is a little overpriced at 500 dollars but it is very loud and the battery life is 24 hours. I would say the boombox 3 is louder than 2 JBL extreme 3's playing at the same time and that is saying something. Honestly save up the money to get a boombox 3, because it is one of the best portable speakers out there.

15 hour battery life? What a joke. That is if you only do not have the bass boost turned on. It sounds horrible without it on. That being said, with Bass Boost turned on, you'll get about 8 1/2 hours of play with it at half volume.
The extreme 2 was better
There is no way anybody should watch this video before they buy anything. This video like many others simply play the music and you can listen to it on your cell phone which is absolutely ridiculous.
And then it is going to go over the specifications that everyone can read.
And of course what it won't do is tell us the frequency response which is the only thing we don't have.
And yet people come here for some reason. It is very likely because when they bought the product they liked it and so they come here and say they like it. And they get confirmation of their opinion which is why they are here.

Tested both for 3 hours inside my van due to the link feature
Put the charge 5 up front
Extreme 3 in the back
JBL Charge 5 sounds CLEANER AND MORE PUNCHIER in the front AND in the back of my van
Extreme 3 sounds Ok but for some reason very muddy
Go with Charge 5, it’s the better one
Now I will spend $1,000 and buy two JBL Boombox 3 to link them up

Honestly if you have the extra money I would definitely go with the extreme three now if you have the money to buy two charge five I would do that just if you want stereo sound but if you want one big speaker that packs a wallop I would go with the extreme 3
